To Jared Kushner, Israel's war on Gaza presents a real estate opportunity... so long as the Palestinians are moved first.

Sketchy real estate empire nepo baby Jared Kushner looks at the devastation in Gaza and sees one thing: dollar signs.

Kushner praised the "very valuable" potential of Gaza's beachfront property during a talk at Harvard University earlier this month, and essentially advocated for ethnic cleansing so Israel could develop the region.

"Gaza's waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods," Kushner told his interviewer, Harvard's Middle East Initiative faculty chair Tarek Masoud, on March 8.

"It's a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel's perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up," Kushner continued. "But I don't think that Israel has stated that they don't want the people to move back there afterwards."

Kushner said Israel should focus on displacing civilians from the southern city of Rafah, which has been under renewed bombardment and threat of an Israeli invasion. Kushner suggested moving those people "with diplomacy" into Egypt, on an entirely different continent.

"I would just bulldoze something in the Negev, I would try to move people in there," he said, referring to the desert. "I think that's a better option, so you can go in and finish the job."

Kushner's use of the phrase "finish the job" echoes a comment his father-in-law Donald Trump made just a few days prior. The former president told Fox & Friends he was "on board" with the Israeli army's tactics in Gaza, saying, "You've got to finish the problem."

Kushner also mused at Harvard whether there was anything left in Gaza to preserve.

"I am not sure there is much left of Gaza at this point," he said. "If you think about even the construct, Gaza was not really a historical precedent. It was the result of a war. You had tribes in different places and then Gaza became a thing."

Host: people worry that once Gazans leave Gaza Netanyahu won't let them back in
Jared: maybe, but what's left of the place?- Anyway, lemme tell you about how valuable Gaza's waterfront property could behttps://t.co/FiKxU9Yw0gpic.twitter.com/NZvYl4J8og

— Hamza M Syed (@HamzaMSyed) March 19, 2024

The region occupied by modern-day Israel and Gaza has been inhabited through different groups throughout its history, but it has existed as a hub of civilization since the fifteenth century BCE. The countries' current borders, which Kushner cites, have really only existed since the 1940s at the behest of the United Kingdom.

Since October 7, more than 30,000 people have been killed by Israeli attacks, while survivors are on the brink of famine. The majority of the victims have been children.

Kushner is married to Trump's daughter Ivanka, meaning he is also a fraudulent real estate nepo son-in-law. During Trump's presidential term, Kushner served as a top Middle East adviser and was instrumental in the Abraham Accords, which saw Israel normalize ties with a number of Gulf states. His horrific comments at Harvard are indicative of what Trump's Middle East policy will look like should he be reelected in November.

How does Politico grab you?

Jared  Kushner , former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, faced sharp criticism on Tuesday for comments describing waterfront property in the  Gaza  Strip as “valuable” in the face of the Israel-Hamas war.

In a   March 8 event at Harvard University ,   Kushner , who served as a senior advisor to Trump during his term in the White House, said “ Gaza ’s waterfront property could be very valuable … if people would focus on building up livelihoods.”

“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but from Israel’s perspective I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,”   Kushner   said. He then added that Israel should move Palestinian civilians into the Negev desert in the country’s southern region.

Kushner   received quick and sharp blowback on social media. Dylan Williams, vice president of government affairs at the left-leaning Center for International Policy, posted on X : “[Just] days after the @ADL’s @JGreenblattADL gave him an award for “his record of policy work,” Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared   Kushner   openly advocates for the ethnic cleansing of   Gaza .”

Earlier this month, the Anti-Defamation League gave   Kushner   an award for his "vital and deeply impactful work on the Abraham Accords," which saw various Arab countries, including the United Arab Emirates, normalize relations with Israel. The Anti-Defamation League told POLITICO that it is standing by the award, pointing to chief executive officer Jonathan Greenblatt's remarks at the award ceremony earlier this month, that "his public service singularly helped further the cause of peace in the Middle East."

Kushner 's comments come on the heels of Republican attempts to diminish or minimize Palestinian claims to territory and nationhood amid the Israel-Hamas war. GOP lawmakers have insinuated they wish to see Palestinians leave the lands currently occupied and administered by Israel. One Tennessee Republican even   advocated to “kill them all”   when confronted by a Palestinian activist.

Kushner   and his wife, Ivanka, have distanced themselves from Trump since he left office, and   Kushner   has stated   he will not return to the White House   if his father-in-law is elected president. But he remains an influential figure in Trump's orbit.

The Trump campaign did not return a request for comment.

Despite not having any foreign policy experience,   Kushner   served as an unofficial presidential envoy to Middle Eastern countries during his father-in-law’s presidency. He built a close relationship with Saudi Arabia, helped broker the Abraham Accords and was made the point person in the Trump administration for negotiating an end to the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

So, where do you get the claim that "He is also speaking for his father-iin-law"???  Especially after "Politico" sez "Kushner and his wife, Ivanka, have distanced themselves from Trump since he left office, and Kushner   has stated he will not return to the White House if his father-in-law is elected president."

Doesn't look like he's speaking for his father-in-law.

Well, Biden, the Big Guy, gets his 10% cut right off the top. Other clan members divvy up the rest.

If Hamas had been putting this beach front property to its "highest and best use" all these years, and develop it properly, they would now be ultra rich and the Palestinian people would share in the wealth, not to mention the peace, that would result.

But no, they would rather lob rockets eastward into Israel, and then finally stage a suicidal act of terrorism against innocent Israeli citizens , than live in peace and prosperity. I say to cast the whole lot of these aiders and abettors out unless they give up their genocidal ways.

Absolutely correct question to ask.  IMO it might sometimes take only take ONE BULLSHIT statement to cast doubt on everything else a person says.

I've often replied to people who start a statement with "To tell the truth..." or "Honestly...." not to say those things because that could mean that if they DON'T say those things on other comments people might think they may not be the truth.

It was valuable--very valuable. Some beautiful hotels-- many right on the beach!

For example, there were beautiful hotels such as Al Mathaf Hotel :

AMAZING STAY!!

Review of   Al Mathaf Hotel
Reviewed May 16, 2013

I stayed there last April and it was a marvelous experience!

I never imagined how beautiful this place is. the staff took the definition of hospitality to whole other level. I think hospitality comes out natural from people of Gaza, Palestine. Perfect location in one of the nicest areas in Gaza. 1 minute walk to the beach.

Their multi-national restaurant and little museum were the highlight of my stay. Definitely one of the best Mediterranean restaurants i ever been too. Finally, the museum was nice to see. Very classic and simple yet well displayed.
I will stay there again in an instant.

Thanks a million everyone for a wonderful stay!!

Salaam Alaikom.

So what happened?

Well, there had been a more or less permanent Cease Fire between Gaza and Israel (before Hamas unilaterally broke the ceasefire on Oct 7).

. And not only were tourists visiting Gaza hotels (I almost visited Gaza-- but that's a bit off topic)-- but many Gazans went into Israel every day work at well-paying jobs!

Did Gazans work in Israel?
Israel previously issued more than 18,000 permits allowing Gazans to cross into Israel and the Israeli-occupied West Bank to take jobs in sectors like agriculture or construction that typically carried salaries up to 10 times what a worker could earn in the blockaded Gaza Strip.
Yep:

There had been a long standing ceasefire in place-- but then Hamas unilaterally broke the cease-fire on Oct 7th.
And BTW, Gaza is by no means self-sufficient in producing food. So before Hamas' brutal attack on Oct 7, many trucks loaded with food crossed into Gaza from israel-- every day!

But they didn't just fire missiles into Israel, nor did they just cross the border and shoot a few Jews. R

Rather, the attack was deliberately brutal-- actually deliberately barbaric is a better word. They behead people, they perpetrated many mass rapes on women before shooting them in the head.

They entered one family's house and while the husband and child was watching, slit open the pregnant women took out the baby and and knifed it to death.

Babies were put into ovens and burnt to death.

One terrorist took a garden hoe and slahsed a man's nech many times before he was beheaded...

One man was sitting in his house-- they gouged out an eye while the family watched.

These were not acts of war but rather sadistic act of terror. Most of the victims were civilians.

And the terrorists wore Go-Pros on the helmets so they could record it all! (They proudly sent the videos to their parents in Gaza, boasting of their exploits.

And that's why the Israelis were so pissed off-- and unlike previous wars with Gaza decided they must prevent something like this from happening again.

Apparently the slicing of a pregnant woman's body to remove the fetus does not have sufficient evidence to prove, but that doesn't mean the rest of their barbarism isn't provable.

Maybe I'm in the same class as Jared Kushner, since I have pointed out MANY times on this site that the Gazans could have been rolling in dough had they developed their waterfront which could have been a second Riviera instead of investing all the donations they got from Iran and the bleeding hearts of the world to build miles and miles of tunnels and purchase armaments and missiles.

Israel had occupied Gaza but unilaterally withdrew in 2005. . No negotiations, no conditions-- they just left. And the Gazans took over.

Then Gaza had complete self rule by the Palestinians (after2005 there wasn't a single Jew in the entire place).

But here's something to consider: If Palestinian  rule ended (Hamas' rule) , and Gaza was returned to it previous rulers (before the Israelis, before Hamas)-- who would be in charge?

Incidentally some people were wondering why Hamas attacked Israel on Oct 7-- and did it in such a brutal way theyknew Israel would respond bigly.

Why now? After all the Israeli occupation of Gaza ended way back in 2005!

Apparently its what Iran wanted. Recently it looked like the Abraham Accords would begin to be fully implemented-- and an "alliance" between Israel and the mostly Sunni Gulf states would threaten Shia Iran.

So the Iranians trained Hamas (and other terorist groups in Gaza-- mainly Islamic Jihad) equipped them...basically Oct 7th was a last ditch effort by Iran to sabotage the Abraham Accords.

And it worked!

(It's what they do in most countries.  Even in Communist countries & other left-wing dictatorships-- while they may change the labels, but wealthy developers make most of the money, and the workers get very little...)
