Biden Warns Trump Will Not Go Peacefully In New Interview

President Joe Biden warned that if former President Donald Trump loses, he will make good on promises of a "bloodbath" in a new CBS News interview.
On Wednesday, President Biden recorded an interview with Bob Costa for CBS Sunday Morning. It is Biden's first interview since his debate performance touched off calls for him to drop out, after which the president announced he would no longer be seeking a second term — and minutes later threw his support behind Vice President and now-presumptive Democratic nominee for president Kamala Harris.
The full interview airs on Sunday, August 11, but in a preview clip released Wednesday night, the president sounded the alarm if Trump wins — even though Costa asked about a peaceful transfer of power if Trump were to win:
ROBERT COSTA: Are you confident that there will be a peaceful transfer of power in January 2025 if Trump wins?
PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: No, I'm not confident at all! I mean, if Trump loses, I'm not confident at all! He means what he says! We don't take him seriously. He means all this stuff about if we lose, there'll be a bloodbath. He's- have been stolen-.
Look what they're trying to do now. In the local election districts where people count the votes? Are electing. They're putting people in place in states that are- they're going to count the votes, right? You can't love your country only when you win.
Trump gave a speech in Dayton, Ohio in March during which he made the remark that "if I don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath" — after discussing trade policy.
Trump's campaign objected to criticism by claiming his remarks about tariffs are the only context in which the remark should be interpreted, while some journalists and Trump critics have placed the remark in context with Trump's history of encouraging and inciting violence.

Trump will approve of everything being done on his behalf, if that includes storming the Capitol again so be it, all he cares about is that he get the result he wants.

This is a mistaken transcription of the video. I watched the video , as any of us can at the seeded link, and this is the accurate transcription of what was said .
No matter which side wins, there will be transfer of power, either from Biden to Harris or Biden to Trump. Biden understood the question perfectly, but wrongly phrased the beginning of his answer and immediately corrected himself.
Any further claims that Biden did not answer the question will be deleted.
Yeah, Costa's question was whether or not Biden would peacefully transfer power to a reelected President Trump. Maybe Costa should have asked if Biden would accept the results of the election if Trump is reelected.
What Biden told the country is that Trump would somehow interfere with the transfer from Biden to Harris. Doesn't Biden realize he is the President? Biden is in charge of the National Guard and military now. Protecting the transfer of power to a President Harris would be entirely on Biden's shoulders.
Maybe Biden is so far gone he doesn't even realize he is the President.
Your comment is almost non sensical. Whether or not the transfer of power is peaceful is the responsibility of ALL the parties involved, not just the party in power on election day.
Trump, or his deranged far right surrogates could call for mass rallies on the nations streets, including calling for physical resistance to law enforcement. He could call for physical disruption of the inauguration events. He or his deranged surrogates could incite violence in response to the election results.

Based upon your interpretation of the video rather than the published transcript, Biden's answer still avoids the question. Only Biden holds the power of the Presidency and only Biden can transfer the power of the Presidency. A Trump loss removes Trump from the transfer of Biden's power of the Presidency.
Will Biden peacefully transfer power to a reelected Trump? Biden currently holds power. So, only Biden can transfer power. If Biden refuses to transfer power then a reelected Trump must take power away from Biden.
Trump cannot interfere with Biden's transfer of power. Biden controls the National Guard and the military. Biden could deploy thousands of troops to protect the Capitol, if he chooses. Biden could impose martial law. Biden could even suspend the Constitution in a crisis.
It is impossible for another January 6th riot to happen while Joe Biden is President; unless Joe Biden allows it to happen.

How could a defeated Trump interfere with the peaceful transfer of power? Biden holds the power, not Trump. Trump challenging the election in the courts and press would be a peaceful challenge. And another January 6th riot would be impossible unless Biden allows it.
