Trump Babbles Nonsense On Child Care
But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that — because the childcare is childcare — there’s something, you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to — but they’ll get used to it very quickly — and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they’ll have a very substantial tax...

This was an unbroken train of "thought" by Donald Trump yesterday, when he was asked a question about affordable child care at a New York City event.  Trump was asked if he would “commit to prioritizing legislation to make childcare affordable.”

I broke his reply into three paragraphs to make it more readable.

Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down — you know, I was, somebody — we had Senator Marco Rubio, and my daughter Ivanka was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that — because the childcare is childcare — there’s something, you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. But when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I’m talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that they’re not used to — but they’ll get used to it very quickly — and it’s not going to stop them from doing business with us, but they’ll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our country.

Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers that we’re talking about, including childcare, that it’s going to take care — we’re going to have, I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time, coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all of the other things that are going on in our country because I have to stay with childcare. I want to stay with childcare. But those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about — including growth — but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just told you about. We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars. And as much as childcare is talked about as being expensive, it’s, relatively speaking, not very expensive compared to the kind of numbers we’ll be taking in.

We’re going to make this into an incredible country that can afford to take care of its people, and then we’ll worry about the rest of the world. Let’s help other people, but we’re going to take care of our country first. This is about America first. It’s about “Make America Great Again.” We have to do it because right now we’re a failing nation, so we’ll take care of it. Thank you."

This blabber has been described today as a sixth grader giving an oral book report on a book he didnt read.

Chris Hayes Gobsmacked by Trump’s Rambling Response: ‘That’s the Quality of the Brains Right Now’

Michael LucianoSep 5th, 2024, 9:17 pm 4-5 minutes   9/5/2024

MSNBC’s   Chris Hayes   seemed in awe of a rambling, two-minute response by former President   Donald Trump   to a question about childcare.

Speaking at the Economic Club of New York, Trump was asked if he would “commit to prioritizing legislation to make childcare affordable.”

This was his full, unedited   response   to that question:

Well, I would do that, and we’re sitting down — you know, I was, somebody — we had Senator  Marco Rubio,  and my daughter  Ivanka  was so impactful on that issue. It’s a very important issue. But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I’m talking about, that — because the childcare is childcare — there’s something, you have to have it in this country. You have to have it. I want to stay with childcare. But those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I’m talking about — including growth — but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just told you about. We’re going to be taking in trillions of dollars. It’s about “Make America Great Again.” We have to do it because right now we’re a failing nation, so we’ll take care of it. Thank you. [AUDIENCE CLAPS]

Hours later on   All In , Hayes aired the full clip.

“They applaud at the end, the host said while cracking up and holding his arms out to the side. “He does the Simone Biles dismount. MAGA! Did you get all that? Remember, the question was, what specific piece of legislation will you advance to keep childcare costs down?”

Hayes then played a clip of Vice President   Kamala Harris   addressing childcare.

“Under my plan, more than 100 million Americans will get a tax cut and we will do this by restoring two tax cuts designed to help middle-class and working Americans,” she said in a speech last month in North Carolina. “The earned income tax credit and the child tax credit, through which millions of Americans with children got to keep more of their hard-earned income… So as president, I’ll not only restore that tax cut, but expand it. We will provide $6,000 in tax relief to families during the first year of a child’s life.”

“So, there you have it,” Hayes reacted. “A little bit of a contrast. Now, you know, in Trump’s defense, he was not on teleprompter. He was just riffing there. But, I don’t know, man. That’s the quality of the brains right now that we got over there.”

in Trump’s defense, he was not on teleprompter.

And Harris was. 'Nuff said. We have yet to see her off and unedited.

Trump's answer to that specific question was barely intelligible.  He used 364 words to say absolutely nothing.

But keep fantasizing about Harris. It is what you guys are good at.

We will pay you to have kids, we want to pay you to kill your unborn kids, we want to pay for your healthcare, we want to pay for your food, we need to pay for your housing, we want to pay for your education.

When the  people  find that they can vote  themselves  money, that will  herald  the end of the republic. Sell not  liberty  to  purchase  power.

The fucking moron seldom makes sense but this takes the cake.

Then you have the endless defense of the indefensible.  Can they explain what the fuck he said?

I don't know why you're trying to convince us that Trump is babbling. He's much more coherent and clearer than Kamala, who doesn't seem to have any plans at all except to bring us all joy.

And Harris was.

There is no comparison.  The democrats managed to get a cognitively challenged candidate elected in 2020. They hid him. He was the most radically extreme president in US history and the people were not going to vote for him, so the democrats switched to another implausible candidate late in the game. While Biden was cognitively challenged, Harris is linguistically challenged. Thus, there is an iron dome around her.

There is no comparison between her and Trump.

I think the country agreed. He had no chance.

That may be why Harris is running against her own policies.

I'd rather win than be right.

We'll see what happens on Tuesday night. Will Trump get Harris to explain why she has transformed herself into a moderate?

Or will ABC set up a minefield for Trump?

The projection is insane with the republicons.  They say Kamala offers up word salads and cackles.  She makes sense and laughs.  She has a healthy sense of humor.  Has anyone ever heard or seen the former 'president' laugh?

I saw something about this elsewhere and someone on Fox news, believe it or not, said, in so many words - explain what he just said.

We should do what Vance suggests, have grandma and grandpa involved more, aunts involved more.  Good suggestion!  jrSmiley_80_smiley_image.gif

There are a LOT of grandmas and grandpas that watch kids while their parents are at work.  But we have so many people in America where grandma is not an option, for a number of reasons.  Harris wants to give a tax credit to families to help pay for child care. Conservatives would rather send their money to the NRA to lobby against common sense gun laws.
