"Listen, what he's talking about, it's real. It's real. That's not the subject that I came to discuss today, but it's real, and I respect his voice."

By MATHILDA HELLER OCTOBER 20, 2024 03:15 Updated: OCTOBER 20, 2024 15:33 Democratic presidential nominee US Vice President Kamala Harris campaigns in Atlanta, Georgia, October 19, 2024(photo credit: REUTERS/DUSTIN CHAMBERS)

US presidential candidate Kamala Harris appeared to claim that Israel is committing genocide, calling it "real" during a talk in Milwaukee on Thursday.

In the videos circulated on social media on Saturday evening, Kamala Harris can be seen addressing a group of students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before being interrupted by a student who asks her to speak about "the genocide" in Gaza.

Harris tells the students she is "so invested" in them before being interrupted by the student who says, "And in genocide, right? Billions of dollars in genocide you invested in?"

In response, Harris said she respected the student's right to speak.

"I respect your right to speak. I'm speaking right now, I know what you're speaking of. I want the ceasefire. I want the war to end."

The male student, who is wearing a keffiyeh, continues to ask her about the genocide while pushing through the crowd towards Harris.

Harris then gestures to the student as he is escorted out of the room by security and says to the crowd, "Listen, what he's talking about, it's real. It's real. That's not the subject that I came to discuss today, but it's real, and I respect his voice."

UWM Police removed the heckler, who was cited for disorderly conduct, according to a university spokesperson.

'Gives credence to blood libel'

Former US ambassador to Israel David Friedman told the New York Post that Harris had just "publicly validated the false and vicious accusation that Israel is engaging in genocide."

"Many, including myself, always suspected that she held this warped, antisemitic view of Israel's self-defense against Hamas barbarism. But the cat is now out of the bag," he said to the US outlet on Saturday.

"Her view is as ignorant as it is malign. … To give credence publicly to this disgusting blood libel disqualifies Harris from holding any public office, let alone the presidency," he added.

The heckler was seemingly affiliated with the group UW-Milwaukee Popular University for Palestine Coalition, which posted a video on their Instagram, joint with National SJP.

Alongside the video, the group wrote that they had staged a massive student protest of Harris's talk at four locations outside the hall, and that a student had interrupted the talk.

"When exiting the event, her motorcade was forced to pass right by all of the protesters," the statement added.

This was corroborated by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which said that Harris's motorcade drove past pro-Palestinian protesters on the campus before she arrived at the meeting at Lubar Entrepreneurship Center, which journalists were not allowed to attend.

According to social media reports, some of the pro-Palestine protesters outside the event refused to move away and lay on the ground.

First of all, Harris is not saying Israel is committing "genocide". She is saying that concern about unnecessary civilian casualties in Gaza is real.

Netanyahu and the right wing government in Israel is responsible for this. The Biden administration has been able to do next to nothing to modify the Israeli military campaign in Gaza. Netanyahu dismisses everything America says, and then runs to the Republicans in Congress to get them to give him a platform.

For Americans like Harris, the U.S. presidential election is more important than complete accession to Israel's behavior.  There are tens of millions of voters who do not approve, to varying degrees , of what Israel is doing in Gaza. That is "real" too.

America gives Israel much, including a military based pledge to maintaining Israels continuing existence.  And Harris is a willing part of that guarantee. That does not mean she cannot speak out against the killing of over 40,000 people as a retaliation for the killing of 1200.

"Is anyone making demands of Hamas?"

EXACTLY!!!  Thank you.  No, nobody is.  Could it be because THEY'RE NOT JEWISH?  Is anyone saying that the Hamas DECLARED TERRORISTS are committing war crimes by using human shields and hiding themselves, their weapons and control centres in and under hospitals, schools, mosques, refugee centres and UNRWA facilities (with UNRWA's cooperation of course)?  So what is Israel to do, say "well, we can't see them so we have to go home and let them keep doing their Oct 7s and keep sending missiles at us and infiltrating and killing our civilians because all the bleeding hearts in the world prefer that we continue to suffer for all eternity.  Has ANYONE demanded that since it is inevitable that the Hamas militants will be defeated that in order to stop the bloodshed of the people they should be protecting instead of using as human shields they should SURRENDER?  WHY NOT???  I would really like to know.  But seems I have to live with the fact that I'm one of the few people around here who is making enemies here because I prefer to support Israel than declared terrorist war criminals.  I don't want to hear that shit that Israel is to blame for the numbers (exaggerated by Hamas of course but it's doing the job, isn't it) and I don't give a shit who on this site despises me for it.

THIS WAR IS NOT REVENGE.  WHAT IS HAPPENING IS NECESSARY TO STOP IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN.

Then the only answer is genocide, kill all future vengeful descendants and the ideology of terrorists.

and the question is where do you stop?

Gaza?  the Philadelphi Corridor?  The West Bank?  Jordan?

You don't have enough IDF or bullets or bombs to do the job.

No, the vile and evil members if Hamas and Hezbollah are totally responsible for all the deaths that have occurred as this war for Israel's survival continues. Netanyahu and his alleged right-wing government are doing what must necessarily be done to eradicate the threat, and the Biden administration has gone out of its way to hinder and discourage their efforts by insisting they surrender to Gaza's demands....all so the Biden administration can boast they are peacemakers, when in fact they are enablers of the radical Palestinians.

Hamas and their fellow Hezbollah terrorist killers started this war and have yet to show any sign of surrendering.

"Who is threatening Israel's survival?"

For starters, Iran and Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria and the Palestinians who walk away from any peace deal that has been offered refusing to negotiate. refusing to negotiate because it means they would have to accept the fact that Israel is The Jewish State and that conflicts with "From the river to the sea"   As long as America keeps threatening to embargo weapons to Israel it keeps the potential invaders' hopes alive to do the job. Do you think Israel has the support of the UN? Of UNRWA that cooperates with the Hamas terrorists and has been proven to have been complicit even in Oct 7?.

Great week for Harris

her admin leaks top secret docs to Iran, she amplifies the Israel is committing genocide  nonsense and the architect of the 10/7 attack is killed in sinwar, which she declared would be a mistake for Israel to go, because of her great expertise that comes from studying maps.

No wonder Iran is trying to kill trump and elect Harris.  Between her idiocy and support for terrorist propaganda, she’s a dream president for them.

To admit that 40,000 dead people seems an awful lot like collective punishment is not "Amplifying" anything. Israel has known from the start of this war that it was an impossible task to completely extinguish Hamas. All that they have been doing is creating the next generation of terrorists.

To say that you do not support Trump is full on disingenuous, as is shown by your commentary.

I'm sorry. The Biden/Harris admin that employed an Iranian spy is now leaking  top secret documents to Iran.

No wonder Israel can't trust us with advance knowledge. Too many members of the Biden/Harris admin are more loyal to Hamas than this country.

000 dead people seems an awful lot like collective punishment is not "Amplifying" anything.

It's a war against terrorists who do not fight by the laws of war.  They started the war. They hide among civilians and use them as shields, and they refuse to wear uniforms.  Every single death is their fault.

It's not a "genocide." Just another example of hysterical progressives butchering a word's definition in their quest to make themselves  the most oppressed people of all time.  40,000?  Even if those numbers are accurate, that's less than 2% of the population of Gaza.  The allies killed 10% of the German population in WW2. For good reason, no one calls that a genocide.  For comparison's sake, the North killed about 2% of the population of the confederacy during the Civil War.

When progressive start calling the Confederates victims of a genocide, I'll start taking them seriously and give them credit for consistency when they call the Civil War a genocide and attack the USA for invading the Confederacy. But calling Gaza a genocide is just rank opportunism to try and help hamas.

Tell me something I don't know. I never uttered the word genocide, you did. I don't think the Vice President did, either.

The Biden/Harris admin that employed an Iranian spy

I am going to have to ask for some supporting documentation for that one.To my knowledge that is just a bare assertion. The presence of a leak does not constitute evidence for a "spy". Just that one sentence of your commentary builds a strawman and misleads people to think that the Biden/Harris administration is incompetent in the vetting of the people whom they hired. At this point in time we do not know who leaked these documents and what their position is in the governmental structure. If Johnson knew of the information that was leaked, it could be many, many people who had access to that information, from the people who actually gathered the intelligence to the people throughout congress who had access to it. To assert that it was an Iranian spy is speculative at best.

Here's come the Progressives "support Hamas propaganda or you are MAGA " tripe.

Really. You need to control your rhetoric a bit better. The reason that I said " To say that you do not support Trump is full on disingenuous, as is shown by your commentary " was because of comments like the one above and these:

You are like a walking billboard for the Trump Campaign. You called Harris an idiot, which she is obviously not, and accused her of saying Israel is committing genocide when she didn't say that.

You are the source of the disinformation.

Israel has pinpointed terrorists in Lebanon and even in Iran, and eliminated them. The Israeli intelligence agancy is well known and respected around the world. They couldnt have put together a measured response to Oct 7th?  One where they sought out and killed the organizers of the massacre and hostage taking, instead of targeting civilian  areas in a penned up location that has no air defense to speak of?  I remember one story in the past year where dozens of people were killed by a bunker buster bomb near a refugee camp because Israel wanted to kill one Hamas higher up who was believed to be in a tunnel there. This is not right. Hamas is a terrorist threat to Israelis, not a military threat.

Did the leaders of "The population" give a shit about their constituents when they started this thing, when they HAD to know what the result was going to be?  They set Israel up, in order to be able to use the psychological propaganda war that Iran trained them to do, and It's worked, hasn't it.  You can't deny that it has.  It's got the whole world blaming Israel, including members of NT.  What did Hamas need airplanes for when they were being backed up by the rest of the world?

But don't worry, I'm going to post a "FINAL SOLUTION" that most will agree with in a while on one of my groups, after I've watched my daily movie or two and had my supper. .

Maybe for the same reason America bombed a car in Afghanistan killing a bunch of innocent people.  Notice that I didn't say "children" (even though that car had many of them) because that's how the Muslim media and its American counterparts succeed in encouraging the world to hate the Jews, as I'm sure you know.
