What Will Become Of MAGA If Trump Loses ?
In many ways, this is a bigger question that what will become of Trump himself.
Will a defeated Donald Trump be able to maintain MAGA leadership ? , possibly from a jail cell like you know who.
Or will a new charismatic , younger leader emerge from the rubble?
One thing that is likely true, unfortunately, that either way this election, we will not see the end of MAGA. Its possible we havent even see the end of the beginning yet.
One of the reasons this will be true is because there's too much money in it. I can easily see a Tucker Carlson or someone of that ilk taking the mantle, holding large rallies occasionally , stirring the pot daily. Always with the donation information at the forefront.
Right wing You Tube and Tik Tok shows, which have made various right wing weirdos very wealthy, will continue to be very popular. There is no real social media downside to Trump losing and the enemy of MAGA will even be better defined.

It will take years, probably many years, to flush this malignancy out of our system.
I agree. The lifeblood of MAGA is Trump so if he has no power and no possibility for power, the MAGA movement will wither like the TEA party. I am sure the GOP minority with integrity will be very interested in restoring the GOP to a party that can be respected (at least to the point prior to Trump).
If Trump loses this election that will be the final icing on the cake that should prove to most that Trump is a loser and has severely damaged the GOP.
Real (responsible) GOP members should hope that Trump loses in a landslide (... hope ...) because the worse he loses the quicker the GOP will hit rock bottom and start the healing and rebuilding.
I see no end to MAGA, regardless of the outcome of this election. Trump will necessarily pass, if only because of age. But the "conservative" wing of American politics has for the most part embraced MAGA, and the end of democracy.
The only (very narrow) path to safety for American democracy is ever-wider ballot-box margins against MAGA, until the donors decide to stop paying. Kinda like rolling snake-eyes ten times in a row. "Unlikely".
Who will succeed to the throne? It doesn't matter.
Nobody has yet figured out the recipe of callousness, recklessness, shamelessness, dishonesty, insincerity, disingenuousness, and ick that makes Trump so charming to his army of despicable followers and unequal to his rivals. His infamy will hopefully follow him to the grave before rubbing off on someone with intelligence.
My idea is that Trump sets the decency bar s-o-o-o low that his people can be heinous, while righteously comparing their attitudes to those of their leader.

The country has been on a steady downgrade ever since social media and “reality” tv were invented. I just saw a young guy interviewed on msnbc who was asked what about Trump appeals to him. He said Trump talks like he and his friends talk. I guess he and his friends like to talk about what a trashcan their country is, what subhumans immigrants are, what a lying whore Kamala is, what a criminal Joe Biden is, what liars our top military commanders are, etc etc.

I was at an adult softball game when Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris (a Sunday afternoon). After the games I stayed around and bullshitted with some of the guys, relatives and acquaintances. This, mind you, took place in the only one of Chicago's 78 neighborhoods that Trump carried in 2016 and 2020. The long and short of it is,, that is exactly the way MAGA's talk.
