Exit Polls Are Not Kind To President Biden
One of the big stories coming out of the midterm elections has nothing to do with someone who's on the ballot. President Joe Biden got bad news from exit polls.

One of the big stories coming out of the midterm elections has nothing to do with someone who is actually on the ballot. Indeed, President Joe Biden, who is about to turn 80, got some bad news from exit polls — and what voters said may be giving the Democrat some things to think about when it comes to his future plans.

First, let's consider what the commander in chief noted regarding his plans to run in 2024, just last month. "I have not made that formal decision, but it's my intention - my intention to run again," he declared in a recent interview (via CNN).

Unfortunately, if midterm voters have anything to say about that pending decision, they are definitely not on board with his way of thinking — and overwhelmingly do not want to see the leader run for re-election.

A whopping two-thirds of Americans said in exit polls they hope Biden steps aside and gives up his bid for another term in the White House, according to the New York Post.

Exit polls predict a potential referendum on Biden's presidency

Andrew Spear/Getty Images

The Telegraph called exit polls "brutal" for President Joe Biden, reporting that a CNN poll found 54% of voters are not pleased with how the President is running the country. Meanwhile, almost half of those polled blasted Biden, reporting that their finances are worse now than when he took office.

The Hill noted that inflation topped the list of issues that guided most voters' decisions in the voting booth. The outlet also reported cringe-inducing news for Biden, with an Edison poll finding less than half of Americans are happy with the job the President is doing.

At time of writing, it's unclear if Republicans will fully realize the red wave they were hoping for in the House and Senate. However, The Hill states that when Democrats won control during the last midterm election under President Donald Trump — who is yet to announce if he will run in 2024 — his approval rating was similar to what we are seeing with Biden now. Given that fact, we may see a flip to Republican power in the legislative branch after this landmark election.

Anyone surprised? Yet they voted for some of the same stuff. Guess that $53million that the dems poured into repugnant republicans candidates worked.

Trump is off topic as are his supporters and recipients of his "endorsements".

With the exception of Long Island, he lost most of the metro areas. This is hardly a shock. Long Island was a shock.

May have been 90 counties. I heard it on the radio this morning. And with very little blue on that map I can see it. And it is no shock he lost the metro areas. That scenario is much like what would happen should we get rid of the electoral college. Only it would be the coasts that dominated what the rest of the country had to deal with and not just the metro areas that got to dictate what the rest of the state had to deal with.

I may have misheard the report.

As said if you comprehend, I said 90% of the counties. She showed a map which I don't have a fucking clue if it is districts or counties as I don't live there and there is no indication it is a fucking district map and not a county map. Her presentation made me think twice and admit I may have made a mistake. When made aware of that fact, my 90% of counties could still stand. Not that it's any or your business and please troll someone else for awhile. You bore me.

I put up the state's county map. You can't go by the counties since most of upstate is farm country and does not have a high population. There are 62 counties in NYS in which 10 were taken by Hochul so that means she took about 16% of the counties but obviously she took a lot more in population.

Your right, it was the county map, it was just hard to see the lines which made me think it was districts, but the report Jim heard wasn't that far off  with the 90% which was instead 84%.

most of upstate is farm country and does not have a high population.

Which is more than likely the reason republicans do better in these areas, they campaign, talk, and listen to their concerns, whereas the democrats stick mainly to the population centers where the most votes are and those voters aren't concerned with the rural areas.

A Fascist by any other name will still be a Fascist.

When the Democrats stop trying to nationalize elections; do away with the Electoral College; pack the Supreme Court; and end the filibuster. Then hold their own accountable to the same standards and laws as they do their opposition; stay the hell out of their opponents' primaries; and drain the swamp they created in the DOJ, FBI, and IRS- let me know. I might consider voting for a moderate one.

Establish Republicans will grow a pair before then.

Democrats have nothing to worry about toothless Establishment Republicans (Mitch McConnell and Co). They are more concerned about keeping themselves in power in the Senate; than actually fighting for their constituents. They just proved this election cycle.

And there you have it, this was admitted to this morning on CBS, (note the timing after the election), the democrats funding and voting for the least likely to win republican against their candidate during the primaries and how well that worked for the democrats.  They then had Amy Klochubar (spelling) on and she was asked about her feelings on how the democrats picked the republican candidates during the primaries and her answer was something like all the more reason we need campaign finance reform.  I try not to yell at the TV in front of my family, but hey it happens.
