Fox News Judge Andrew Napolitano has been Pissing Off Trump
"This is like presenting a case to a grand jury, which is never done in public."

Fox News is usually nothing butt Republican propaganda so I avoid it as a rule.  Butt, I sometimes watch Fox for the entertainment value because I often find it amusing.  What surprises me is that they haven't fired their resident judge - Andrew Napolitano.

Newsweek just ran an article about Napolitano that I think is outstanding.

FOX NEWS JUDGE SAYS HOUSE IMPEACHMENT INQUIRY 'CONSISTENT WITH THE RULES' THAT 'REPUBLICAN MAJORITY' SIGNED INTO LAW

BY JASON LEMON ON 10/24/19 AT 9:29 AM EDT

Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano said Thursday that Republican complaints about the "secrecy" of closed-door impeachment hearings don't hold water because the process is "consistent with the rules" that a "Republican majority" signed into law.

Trump and his Republican supporters have repeatedly argued that the Democratic-led impeachment inquiry has been conducted improperly because the testimony of witnesses has been carried out in close-door hearings. On Wednesday morning , a group of GOP representatives, some of whom did not serve on the investigating committees, stormed one of those secure depositions, chanting "let us in." This delayed the hearing, but it eventually went forward in the afternoon with only the Democrats and Republicans serving on the relevant committees permitted to attend.

"As frustrating as it may be to have these hearings going on behind closed doors...they are consistent with the rules," Napolitano, who previously served as a New Jersey Superior Court judge, explained during a segment of the Fox News morning show Fox & Friends .

"When were the rules written last?" the legal expert asked. "In January of 2015. And who signed them? John Boehner [the Republican speaker of the House]. And who enacted them? A Republican majority," he asserted.

"The rules say that this level of inquiry, this initial level of inquiry, can be done in secret," Napolitano said. He pointed out that he personally wishes he could view the testimony and that it was public, but he added that the impeachment investigation was thus far consistent with the ones conducted against Presidents Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton. Nixon inevitably resigned to avoid impeachment, while Clinton was formally impeached by the House but not removed by the Senate.

"Eventually, there will be a public presentation of this, at which lawyers for the president can cross-examine these people and challenge them," Napolitano explained. "This is like presenting a case to a grand jury, which is never done in public."

Please forgive me, butt I think you watch a couple of video clips from Fox News.  I hope my conservative frenemies, who are yuuuge fans of Fox News appreciate these videos.

As you can see, Napolitano is no "Trumpster".  Napolitano actually comprehends the constitution.  Here's a video clip of something he recently said on Fox News:

Napolitano was also interviewed by Shepard Smith.  Shepard Smith is a true journalist.  Perhaps that's why he decided to leave Fox News.  Smith probably decided he couldn't continue to be associated with Fox News.

I love being able to use Fox News to prove that The Donald should be impeached.

I wonder how long it will take for the White-winger to denounce Fox News.

Oh boy.

Here come the deflections.

White-winger to denounce Fox News
" Mr. President, we don't work for you. I don't work for you ," Fox News host Neil Cavuto said in the closing monologue of his show. "My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you. Just report on you."
It’s well known that Trump has something of a symbiotic relationship with Fox News, particularly his beloved morning show, Fox & Friends , and Fox News’s prime-time hosts. It sometimes seems the president and his favorite Fox News personalities are in an exclusive conversation with one another for the whole nation to see, with Trump often live-tweeting or responding to coverage. Recently, though, Trump has distanced himself from parts of the network that can’t be counted on to cover him in a fawning fashion.
And then there's this. " That's your stink, Mr. President ."

I clicked on the stinky link.  The video there was fucking hilarious!  I love the way The Donald turns on his former friends and allies and backstabs them.

Neil Cavuto certainly doesn't work for Trump.  Cavuto, like Shepard Smith, seems to be a good  journalist.

Cavuto and Smith provide quite a contrast to Sean Hannity and Fucker Carlson who are yuuuge idiots.  And I really hate the Fox and Fiends circle jerk.

Seems to me that Fox News is less biased than you opine it to be.  Certainly the majority of the major mainstream media would never lessen its bias to saying anything good about Trump.

Fox and fiends is totally biased.  That's why The Donald frequently calls in there.  And Sean Hannity, Fucker Carlson and Laura Ingram are famous for their total devotion to Trump.  Trump even calls Hannity for advice.

Butt, Fox News during the afternoon is much less biased.  The reason "mainstream media" rarely "says anything good about Trump" is because Trump rarely does anything good.  I have seen some positive coverage about Trump when it's warranted.

For instance when Trump briefly supported universal background checks (after the mass shootings at a Florida school and El Paso) CNN and MSNBC actually praised Trump.  Unfortunately, Trump walked his support fo gun safety back after talking to the NRA.  The mainstream media also praised Trump when he banned bump stocks.

“I think she’s a monster,” Curtis Ingraham said in the interview, which was published on Wednesday. “She’s very smart, she’s well-spoken, but her emotional heart is just kind of dead.”

Curtis Ingraham has been speaking out against his sister on social media since at least early 2018. In a public Facebook comment posted seven months ago, he attributed her views to their father.

“Our father was a Nazi sympathizer, racist, anti-Semite and homophobe,” Curtis Ingraham, who is gay, wrote alongside  a video of his sister . “Like father like daughter?”

So now they're doing everything they can to disrupt Congressional proceedings.  They even bum rushed a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility)

Access to SCIFs is normally limited to those individuals with appropriate security clearances. Non-cleared personnel in SCIFs must be under the constant oversight of cleared personnel and all classified information and material removed from view in order to prevent unauthorized access. As part of this process, non-cleared personnel are also typically required to surrender all recording, photographic and other electronic media devices. All of the activity and conversation inside is presumed restricted from public disclosure.

I think the bills are still legal tender.

There are several pro-Trump stamps being sold.  Do people who don't like Trump get to claim those bills are not legal tender?  There were also similar pro-Trump stamps in 2016.

Banks will filter them out of circulation to be returned to the Federal reserve for destruction and replacement.

Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together , or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued , shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. Defacement of currency in such a way that it is made unfit for circulation comes under the jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service. The United States Secret Service web address is www.secretservice.gov .

So, are they being defaced to render them unfit to be reissued?  That is the question.

And the answer is no, whoever is doing this wants them to be reissued.

People who deface US currency can be prosecuted.

Although I think the "FUCK TRUMP" bills are humorous, I don't think it's funny if a child gets one.

The pro-Trump stamps are not obscene butt they suck too.

Apparently there's even a Trumpeter who thinks Trump lives in the Lincoln Memorial.  Now that's hilarious!

Yeah, butt local businesses can set their own rules:

Has anyone gotten in trouble for stamping?

Our Head Stamper Ben Cohen has been stamping on national television – CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc. – since 2012, and he has shown stamped bills to politicians and government officials as high up as the U.S. president. Many other celebrities, politicians, and public figures have also stamped their money, but Ben has yet to be reprimanded for his stamping and no other stamper has faced legal issues for stamping either. One stamper even took the issue of stamping straight to his local police department to ask them about it, and they politely informed him that it seemed legal and harmless and therefore wasn’t something they’d even consider pursuing. Ultimately the Secret Service is the federal agency tasked with enforcing the laws relevant to stamping money, not the police, and if the Secret Service is watching your behavior then stamping should be the least of your concerns.

Has anyone gotten in trouble for stamping?

31 USC 5103 states: “United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues.” As the U.S. Treasury Department has noted, however, there is no Federal law requiring a business to accept cash as payment:

Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether or not to accept cash unless there is a State law which says otherwise. For example, a bus line may prohibit payment of fares in pennies or dollar bills. In addition, movie theaters, convenience stores, and gas stations may refuse to accept large denomination currency (usually notes above $20) as a matter of policy. ( Source )

It’s worth noting that this discusses denominations of currency and cash generally. With that in mind, it seems unlikely that stamped bills, which are legal tender, should be treated any differently than unstamped bills. We occasionally hear about local businesses that have policies not to accept any marked currency, usually as a precaution against counterfeiting, but It’s not clear whether or not such a policy is legal. They do appear to be well-intentioned and do not discriminate against stamped bills in particular.

The bank says my stamped money is defaced/mutilated/altered – is it?

No. There is no lawful or practical reason for a bank to refuse stamped currency.

Stamped bills are not defaced. According to the U.S. Treasury Department , currency defacement is generally defined as follows:

Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill , draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued , shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both. ( Source )

An argument could certainly be made that stamping ‘disfigures’ currency, but stamping still passes the most important test to not be considered defacement – the intent. Even if a bank still insists stamped money is defaced, the U.S. Federal Reserve guidelines for banks instruct them to include “torn, dirty, limp, worn, or defaced” bills in their regular deposits. ( Source )

Stamped bills are also self-evidently not mutilated. Think of cash damaged in a fire or rust-encrusted coins, or see the source below for pictured examples. If it’s in good condition and you can tell what denomination it is, you’re good to go. According to the U.S. Treasury Department, mutilated currency is:

Currency that has been damaged to the extent that one-half or less of the note remains, or its condition is such that its value is questionable and special examination by trained experts at the Department of the Treasury or the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is required. ( Source )

Some banks may also say that stamped bills are “ unlawfully altered, ” but this is a confusion between the common definition of altered and the legal definition, which refers to currency whose value has been fraudulently changed, such as changing a $10 bill to a $100 bill. According to the Federal Reserve, if they detect “counterfeit or unlawfully altered currency in an institution’s deposit, it is forwarded to the Secret Service, and the institution is charged for the difference” ( Source ). Stamped bills do not fit the definition of altered currency, so your bank will not be penalized for depositing them and they should accept them without complaint.

Barr is investigating people who pissed off The Donald and he has impaneled a grand jury to begin persecutions.  I expected to be indicted soon.
