Hey Look Mommy, BIRDS!!!!!
A Thursday morning...Drinking coffee & trying to get myself motivated to pack lunches & get myself ready for work....When all of a sudden Onyx leaps to the top part of the window chasing a bird that flew into it. She started chittering & my big boy, Ghost came bounding onto the couch to see. They chittered back and forth and it all made me so happy.
They are a true blessing in my life - they make me smile.
They're beautiful...look like small panthers
Why, thank you.
Very nice start to the day.
It was.
after a few decades in the construction biz, I noticed that you have vinyl windows. either replacement or pretty much standard in newer homes now. those windows typically feature an energy efficient Low E glass, which is a thin reflective metal coating on the glass. that glass looks more reflective under certain light or shade conditions during the day and smaller birds will fly into it thinking they are flying into whatever is being reflected on the exterior. the colonial grids between the glass panes are also invisible to them until it's too late. you can alleviate this problem by either applying a tape to the exterior, which may be unsightly, or buying some monofilament fishing line and attaching it in a few vertical configurations off the exterior surface of the windows. the birds can see that and won't become involuntary kamikazees. on the other hand, consider placing a bird feeder outside the window that gets the bird hits for your cats, since the birds can't see them thru the glass.
Typically our bird feeder does hang outside that window & they usually flock to it & the cats go nuts, BUT this year the squirrels ate a hole in it & some birds nested in it - so we are going to hang a new one, but have to get seed.
Very cool photos.
Thank you.
My cat, Palooza frequently looks out of our kitchen and living room windows to watch and chatter at the birds. We have a cozy box right next to the one in our kitchen and while it may put some people off, it's on our kitchen table. We move the box and clean the table every evening for dinner... so whatever. It's one of her favorite places.
<--- her spot in our kitchen.
I see you're a slave to Chewy.com also
Yes, they've made it entirely too easy. The cost is about the same as me going to the pet store, but I don't have to interact with anyone. Free shipping for orders over $50... it's not difficult to make an order $50.
The cost for my babies' favorite food keeps rising, but they are worth it.
Ahhh, what we will do for our fur babies.
Every once in a while while Charlene is lounging on the porch banister, a blue jay will roost on the pole holding a hummingbird feeder and harass her. She will chitter and one of these days that blue jay is going to be sorry.
Cats are the most precious gift in the world
I think so.
OMG-- what beautiful animals!
I don't currently have any pets, but was considering getting a cat.
Must be a Black Cat.
As a familiar (I've been reading the Tarot for years. . .and am a practitioner of various other "Esoteric Arts")
Plus I really do like them...just haven't wanted any pet.
Pets (especially cats) are something that a person has to realize is going to take a lot of their time & attention. They like to make it look like they don't care, but damn they do.
I had a black cat. I called him Inky and my mini panther. He liked to lay on my head at night
Mine are feet cats.
Mine are anywhere they can plop down and make me uncomfortable
That's their job.
They are wonderful.
And while many people are unaware of it-- cats have Magickal powers!
Because they can hear the snacko bag from the next county?
Maybe. I once saw my old cat (around 18 at the time) go from apparent complete relaxation in the sun on the front lawn to 6 feet off the ground knocking a dive bombing Mockingbird (I think) out of the air before you could blink It was amazing to watch.
Thank you. I think they are....I love black cats. The bigger one (Ghost) likes to watch me do rituals. I can't let Onyx in the room because she knocks over the candles.
I know they sense higher energies.
I was once co-teaching a metaphysical course with my old girlfriend in her large loft. Her cat was way down at other end end of the loft when we started and stayed there. At an hour or so into the class we started to lead the class through an energy raising meditation, and then working with higher energies. As soon as we started that section, her cat came scampering in to the area, and jumped up and sat on her lap and started purring.
This and a few other similar incidents with cats have convinced me that they are quite sensitive to these sorts of energies...
(I believe most ancient civilizations that had not lost touch with the natural "Earth Energies" & were apparently quite aware of these characteristics of many animals ..especially, .for example, the ancient Egyptians and Cats).
A joke-- that I imagine most people who understand Cats can appreciate:
In ancient times Cats were worshipped as Gods...and they have never forgotten it!
I know mine have always thought they were above all in the household & of course as their humble servant I foster that belief.
They like to be in the middle of things & I notice the energy is higher when Ghost is sitting next to the alter then when he is not. Could be just me.
Stubby is the King, Tasha is the Princess, and Charlene is the Court Jester.
Ghost is Lord & Master - he was when Darkness was alive (he was my pixie). Onyx is an exhibitionist. She likes to show off and lays on her back and spreads open wide so everyone can see everything.
I swear to goddess that my replies are not going where I want them to.... UGH!!!
There are 1000s of them, which one?
Mine is Morrigan (Triple Goddess)
I added Hypatia to my list several years ago.
I know very little about her. Time for some research.
I am not too familiar with Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses, so I had to google Morrigan.
(Although as an Astrologer, I am very familiar with those associated with major concepts in Astrology...well, also a few associated with some of my favourite Asteroids).
Not familiar with her-- had to google.
Her energy, if I interpret it correctly, seemed somewhat akin to that of Aries/Mars or Scorpio/Pluto. If you don't mind my asking , by any chance are either of those energies prominent in your Natal (Astrology) chart?
I follow the Celtic version. She is considered a "dark" goddess because she is a goddess of death and war. So many think she is evil when in truth she (for me) is a symbol of strength. I see her as a Triple Goddess - Macha, Anu and Badb - the maiden, the mother & the crone - birth, life & death. She (to me) is the essence of the circle of life....
but that's just me.
I am a Pisces....a fish that doesn't like the water (but I think that is because in one of my planal existences I was on the Titanic - and not in the rich part).

I was discussing Gods/Goddesses with someone I had recently met, When the topic came up, she mentioned she identified most with-- Kali!
(An unusual choice IMO ):.
Heres' Kali:
But getting back to Morrigan:
So many think she is evil when in truth she (for me) is a symbol of strength.
Well, I noticed than many people are quite judgemental .(Ironically they are often most judgemental about things they know the least about).
IMO, this is often true about most Muggles!
This is a bit off topic, but: Generally speaking in the West we think of opposites as being different. But in many eastern philosophies, they see tham as similar-- just opposite extremes of the same quality. But that's another topic...
I see her as a Triple Goddess - Macha, Anu and Badb - the maiden, the mother & the crone - birth, life & death. She (to me) is the essence of the circle of life...
That's powerful!
but that's just me.
Well, FWIW, if you were a Hindu you might say: its always just you!
Yes, that its always just you. There's really nothing out there! (Its all "Maya"..illusion) But again, that's a topic for a different discussion.
You won't like what you find. The early 'christians' dug out her eyes and skinned her alive. Being a both a mathematician and a librarian was rough stuff during her tenure.
I was unfamilar with her, had to google.
(So many goddesses..so little time! )
It seems she was a "scientific" type-- Math, Astronomy...also Philosophy.
Also apparently quite tolerant of differing belief system...tolerant re: both Christians as well as pagans.
Ruled by reason, more than impulsive emotions (the way Scientists are supposed to be, although of course many are not).
???
I am a Pisces.
The stereotype of Pisces of course is very emotionally sensitive. A lot of compassion for the suffering of others. I've found them to often be very Psychic. (Depending, of course,on the rest of their chart).
I could be wrong, but my guess is that you may have some Scorpionic energy in your chart? (& possibly some Aquarius?)
But OTOH, IMHO your avatar is a lot more "Scorpionic" than the impression you give in your comments (which is much softer and quite Piscean")
Scorpio & Pisces...both water signs, both tending towards being emotionally quite sensitive, both often "spiritual" and/or psychic.... but also different in many ways.
Don't google too deep, you'll come across some of my X's.
Me three. I guess there is a couple of us here.
You won't like what you find. The early 'christians' dug out her eyes and skinned her alive. Being a both a mathematician and a librarian was rough stuff during her tenure.
When I googled her, I discovered some interesting things:
"Opposition to Christianity"..."a symbol of Christian virtue"..."opposition to Catholicism."..."icon for women's rights and a precursor to the feminist movement.'...
Hmmmm......
I always google too deep-- I'm an ENTP.. .our passion is collecting information!
a Sagittarian
Possibly a lover of philosophy...(stereotypically also publishing, travel, like foreign cultures).
My experience is that they tend to "jump around a lot"..love...travel!, also, BTW, often (along with Aquarius) one of the most honest signs. Oh..and then there's that unique sense of humour..heh!
, no apologies in having to suffer my slings and arrows.
Not sure what you mean by that comment (?)...yes, I did notice the reference to "arrows" lol--- but my experience of Sag is that you guys are amongst the most "resilient" of signs.
I've often thought that because Sagittarians often have an amazing ability to "bounce back" from adversity, their symbol should not be a Centaur but rather one of these (the "bounce back toy", not the kid):
Are you Psychic?
My magic eight ball said no.
I am more of an empath than a psychic. I feel the emotions of others (human animals and non-human animals) very deeply. If I do not guard that side of myself I could be in tears many hours in a day.
How can I tell if I have other energy in my chart?
Not totally pleasant, but most of us know how this works.
I remember those from when I was a kid
They still sell them on Amazon. I almost ordered one!
Psychic ability is real. its not a religion for me, so I don't try to convince people it is. If they want to fee its a hoax-- that's OK with me!
Sometimes people describe all psychic abilities as clairvoyance, but there are generally considered to be 5 ways psychics get information. In most cases a person that receives psychic information will get it mainly from one of 5 "senses":
1. Clairvoyance: "Clear seeing".They actually see visual images.
2. Clairaudience: "Clear Hearing". They hear Psychic information .
3. Clairsentience-- "Clear Feeling". Obtaining the info, via physical feelings. (Body sensations). For some people receiving psychic input this way, the sensations may not be frequent..and/or very strong. However for those that do receive most (or all) psychic information this way, it can be more frequent and occasionally quite intense. These people are called "Empaths".
This is a wonderful gift you have, but I think that early in life many Empaths at times didn't like it..they probably get better at learning how to "turn it off" as time goes on. (?)
4. Clairgustance. Clear tasting! Psychic info received by tastes in mouth. (Not as common as some others).
5. Clairalience - "Clear-Smelling".Psychic infor by experiencing smells. Also not as common...
(cont'd in next comment).
Some rare people are naturally born with strong psychic abilities. In more rare cases, the ability develops later in life.
And-- everyone has the ability to become Psychic-- yes, it can be taught. (That ability is "hard-wired" into all of us via Evolution. Most Indigenous peoples have it naturally. But over time most of us have lost touch with the Earth & Nature and surpressed (Not lost-- but surpressed) our Psychic abilities.
In addition, some powerful People/Institutions had a vested interest in keeping people from having those powers. (In order to maintain their own Power-- and/or wealth).
How can I tell if I have other energy in my chart?
Generally a goodly amount water energy (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) especially for 3 maijor things (Sun, Moon, Rising)
And Especially true is your Moon is in water.
Prominent Neptune (i.e. well aspected). Also Aquarius, although that's a different sort of Psychic power, some people would consider that not to be exactly Psychic but rather Intuitive.
Planets (particularly benefics) in your 12th House.
I have mostly stopped doing peoples' charts and been very busy lately but may be able to take a look at your chartsometime next week-- will let you know.
How can I tell if I have other energy in my chart?
Actuslly before I posted thsat long answer (which may be useful only to people who knowa lot about Astrology)...is much simpler. Well,if you can distinguish between Psychic input and "regular" thoughts.
I sometimes think of Psychic ability as "knowing something...without knowing how you know".
In your case it might be harder to discern because apparently you have strongly Empathic experiences.
One thing that might help is to "set your intention" to be aware of other Psychic input.
Another way-- set your intention to develop an additional source of input-- for example, to developoneofthe "Clairs".
I forgot to mention another one-- in fact that's my strongest: Claircognizence.
That's just knowing something-- without knowing how you know! Doesn't seem to involve any of the 5 senses-- you just know.
One of perhaps the most common Psychic experiences had by people who generally don't have Psychic experiences: The phone rings. Suddenly you think it must be someone you haven't seen-- or communicated with-- in, say, 20 years. You dismiss that thought. You pickup the phone-- and it is that person!
How did you know that?
Well, that's Claircognizence. You just know.(knew).
Ah, that chittering noise they make when they're excited. It's so fun to listen to. Cats are usually so full of themselves, and conscious of looking silly. It's fun when they're unintentionally comical.
Like when they are rolling around on the cat tree and fall off - HILARIOUS!!!
I had a cat growing up who got his steps timed a bit wrong going downstairs to his litter box in the basement. He wasn't neutered yet, and he kept hitting his boy bits on the edges of the risers. He let out a short little squall with each step, but couldn't get his momentum stopped. I thought my Mom was going to fall down the stairs after him, she was laughing so hard. Poor guy.
Heehee....I can picture that. Step-Yowl-Step-Yowl-Step-Yowl
Recently a friend of mine mentioned that she was thinking of getting a pet. Although she's always seemed to me be more of a "dog person" than a "cat person". I recommended what would be my current favourite choice-- 2 kittens!
She finally decided to get the "small white puppy" that she saw in a vision, she ended up with a Maltese puppy.
Anyway, the point of this comment: In the course of the conversation, she mentioned one of the things she liked best about cats-- that are often quite funny!
