On This Beltane
This Beltane I will be working on my Summerland garden area. I will be putting up my shepherd's hook with my 2 Hummingbird feeders, my bird bath, and my gazing ball in a triangular pattern and then I will be planting colorful blooms to attract butterflies and hummingbirds in a triquetra pattern.
I have my trellis ready and my little garden statues ready to go out (dragons, turtles, bears). I have 2 fairy houses ready to go. On the trellis is painted "Summerland" as this is the entrance to my area.
All of this is going in the area where we laid my beautiful little Darkness to rest. I am thinking of putting benches out there so I can sit and reflect near my little darling Darkness.
May 1st is the Beltane celebration. I have an older blog that talks specifically about Beltane.
Fried honey cakes, I'm all in on Beltane.
I make them and put one out for the fairies. Hubby loves them, kids not so much.
Fried honey cakes are used in multiple celebrations; Beltane, Rosh Hashanah, Korean Jesa.
Food - an international language.
Thanks for reminding us when Beltane is here.
We've been working on the yard little by little. I planted some lettuce and onions but want to put in tomatoes and peppers, too. I got my hummingbird feeders up on Sunday. I heard one on Saturday but because I didn't have the feeders up he left. He'll be back
We had a lot of cleanup this year - wind has been wicked, knocking limbs and branches all over.
Sounds lovely.
Once it is all set up I will posting pics.
I'll look forward to seeing those!
