The latest Morning Consult/Politicopoll, released Wednesday, is filled with "bad news" for President Biden and congressional Democrats after a rough couple of months for the party.
Biden, who has seen his approval numbers dip in many surveys, especially after the United States' chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, hit his lowest mark in this particular poll since he entered the White House, while his disapproval numbers reached their highest point so far.
Voters have also increasingly come to think that Biden and Democratic lawmakers have failed to live up to expectations. Biden was hit with a 12-point jump from June in terms of respondents who believe he has achieved less than they expected. For congressional Democrats, the overall number was just six points higher than last time, but it leaps to 13 when zeroing in on Democratic voters.
Perhaps most worrisome for the party, though, is the fact that congressional Republicans have closed the gap in the generic ballot to just 1 point.
The Morning Consult/Politico poll was conducted between Oct. 2-4 among 1,998 registered voters. The margin of error is 2 percentage points. Read the full results here.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks................
Y'all just need to keep everyone's attention away from the complete and utter failure of the past 'president' and his domestic terrorist mob on 1/6/21.
There was no failure. Yes the morons failed to get done what they errantly thought they would accomplish on 1/6 but the "past President" was in no way shape or form a failure. You are seeing that characteristic unfold before your very eyes..............as long as you keep them open.................... which you seem averse to for some reason.
Presidents who fail reelection are failures...
You may be right. Look at Jimmy Carter but that has ZILCH to do with Mr. Trump.
Two years ago the economy was at all time record levels. And then along came the Chinese Flu.
The former 'president' was a complete and utter failure of a human being much less 'president'.
America First!
The only one first in trumpturd's world is trumpturd.
Fuck no. Only a moron would miss that steaming pile of shit.
When Biden raised his right hand and took the Oath Of Office as president in January of this year he accepted responsibility plain and simple. If he was not willing to take the heat he should have stayed out if the kitchen!
Then why do you keep bringing him up?
Because there is no defending the POS they put in the White House; so all they can do is deflect to Trump. After all Biden ran on nothing more than being the anti-Trump.
Squirrel!
Ya, that's what we did alright, we elected a cognitive mess who would enact extremely radical policies, just so we could divert attention from future events/S
Faux 'news' aren't the only ones covering the school shooting in Texas.
Police: Student opens fire at Texas high school; 4 hurt
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A student opened fire inside a Dallas-area high school during a fight, injuring four people before he fled, authorities said Wednesday.
The shooting happened at Timberview High School in Arlington, which is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Two people were shot and two others had unspecified injuries, Arlington Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kolbye said at a news conference.
Three of the four were taken to hospitals and the other person refused treatment, he said.
Police were searching for the suspected shooter, whom they identified as 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins. They said he might be driving a 2018 silver Dodge Charger with the license plate number PFY-6260.
