Virginia Gov. Younkin's day-one executive orders include investigating Loudon County officials, CRT ban
Youngkin promoted optimism in his inaugural speech and told Democrats who voted against him that he will be their advocate as well. "The spirit of Virginia is alive and well. And together we will strengthen it," Youngkin said. "Together we’ll renew the promise of Virginia, so it will be the best place to live, work and raise a family."

This is indeed good news.  Red state policies and priorities right next to the belly of the beast that is Washington DC.  Freedom returns to Virginia.

Virginia ’s newly sworn-in Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed 11 executive actions on his first day in office including ending the use of Critical Race Theory in schools, investigating officials' alleged wrongdoing in Loudoun County, and allowing parents to decide if their children wear masks in schools.

Youngkin announced the list of executive actions in a news release after being sworn in as the commonwealth’s 74th governor, the first Republican elected since 2009, on Saturday in Richmond, Virginia.

GOP'S GLENN YOUNGKIN, NOT YET IN OFFICE, UNFAIRLY BLAMED FOR VIRGINIA INTERSTATE MESS

The governor signed nine executive orders that address the following issues:

  • To restore excellence in education by ending the use of divisive concepts, including Critical Race Theory, in public education.
  • To empower Virginia parents in their children’s education and upbringing by allowing parents to make decisions on whether their child wears a mask in school.
  • To restore integrity and confidence in the Parole Board of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • To investigate wrongdoing in Loudoun County.
  • To make government work for Virginians by creating the Commonwealth Chief Transformation Officer.
  • To declare Virginia open for business.
  • To combat and prevent human trafficking and provide support to survivors.
  • To establish a commission to combat antisemitism.
  • To withdraw from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).

In addition to the executive orders, Youngkin signed two executive directives that will "cut job regulations by 25%" and rescind the coronavirus vaccine mandate for state employees.

The executive order regarding wrongdoing in Loudoun County comes after the school district gained national attention during the campaign following the arrest of a 14-year-old male high school student, who identifies as nonbinary, who has been found guilty of raping a female student in a school bathroom. That student was transferred to another school where he allegedly raped another student and the district has been accused of covering up the crime which resulted in one of the alleged victim's parents being arrested at a school board meeting. The offending student has been placed on the sex offenders registry for life as part of his sentence

Critical Race Theory was also a key issue in the race with Youngkin responding to complaints about the controversial curriculum being embedded in Virginia schools by promising to remove it and give parents a larger say in what is taught to their children. Youngkin's opponent, former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, dismissed parent concerns telling them that Critical Race Theory was not being taught and saying , "I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

I wish Virginia, its new governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general the best in whole government leadership. I will likely NEVER understand why in a land with so much ASPIRATION, WEALTH, WELL-WISHES, AND PROMISE life continues to SUCK for so many citizens.

It just makes me wonder. . . .

Good luck!

It’s called socialism and other secular progressive far left economic philosophy and corresponding policies.  The three requirements for a 98% chance at avoiding poverty are 1. Graduate from high school, 2. Work full time.  3. Wait until 21 or older to A: get married and then B: have children.

Sounds rote. And it is impractical to have a multitude of emotional people running around following a routine for life falsely bragging about freedom and liberty. Foundationally, your 'roadmap to avoid poverty has failed many some conservatives as they ultimately 'fall on' or come to rely on government assistance when catastrophic acts occur from -'feasting to famine.'

Incidentally, some conservatives call it socialism when people work for the advancement and togetherness of people and things—and fear it. Why? Liberty and freedom are a multifaceted diversity 'diamond' product. It is not everybody marching in lockstep to the tune of a one-directional leadership model. NOTE: To my knowledge, neither major political parties advocate for a true socialism system in the United States.

In a dynamic set of national circumstances, and across many spectrums of life there are innumerable cases of people living this way:

  1. Feast to feast.
  2. Feast to famine.
  3. Famine to famine.
  4. Famine to feast.

The fact is, life success also requires living strategically and avoiding choices that can derail futures. Foremost in this is avoiding poverty.

William Galston, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, columnist, and former Clinton Advisor, did a hefty amount of research on the subject of poverty. Dr. Galston asserts you need to do three main things if you live in the United States to avoid poverty:

Finish high school, marry before having a child, and marry after the age of 20!

Here’s the real kicker: only 8 percent of families who do all three are poor; however, 79 percent of those who fail to do all three are poor.

It's the 'constant struggle' to reconstitute and reformulate our institutions to recognize diversity versus sameness.

Mr. Galston, likely is writing about a conservative model that likely includes being married to the same person 'for life'? Furthermore, with a low wage floor, and if some conservatives have their way - no minimum wage- a high-school education alone by definition would mandate a LIFETIME sentence of 'hard labor.'

The ready question is this: WHY?

Humanity has been GIVEN a world to STEWARD and prosper in; why are we handicapping ourselves.

Incidentally, for the record, do not even waste your time 'force-feeding' me select passages of liberals who agree with your perspective, because that can only tell a portion of narrative: the part you wish to affirm and see manifested.

I know better than that!

One last thing. If humanity could escape its feeling and just execute logic and reason—oh, what the—we can't do it entirely!

Now as to Youngkin's Critical Race Theory ban: In your opinion, what is the end-goal of ignoring the racial and ethnic disharmonies, plural, of the past? But first: What is your understanding of the CRT ban?

Is this Virginia diversity "power" ticket being prepped for a 2024 run for the presidency, or will it be "ready and waiting" in the 2028 presidential cycle? Bar none.

You mean, "off to a great start" superficially? As President Biden and VP Harris are just a year plus in to their terms, and Governor Youngkin and LT. Governor Sears are mere days - breadth and depth are distinctly and vastly different.

You are not basing your comment on prior experiences of which Biden/Harris have a 'ton' in accumulated years. These are not the best of times. And having a 'full roster' of republicans/conservatives sitting on their voting 'hands' while the nation struggles to survive at another of its most exposed junctures—literally, well, I question your understanding of grace—God's grace.

Of Donald J. Trump, a man who when asked if he every asked God for forgiveness, effectively deferred, we catch as catch can be. But you? My expectations should be higher based on your often stated commitment to God.

If by downhill you mean conservatives more to your liking are no longer setting the agenda, well former president Trump loss the confidence of the masses. Moreover, Donald Trump can not deal with enemies smaller than the naked eye. It proved to be a shortcoming and an overpowering source of scorn for him.

President Biden has a strong record of achievements, even when compelled in a short time to work handicapped by house and senate conservatives.
