Critics mock 'puppet' Trudeau for fleeing capital during truckers protest: 'Tyrant on the run'
Critics are slamming Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a "coward" for reportedly fleeing his residence in the country’s capital of Ottawa as a massive anti-vaccine mandate protest converged on the city. "What a complete coward. He won’t even face the citizens he has discriminated against," Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe tweeted.

Critics mock 'puppet' Trudeau for fleeing capital during truckers protest: 'Tyrant on the run'

'Is there a more gutless and cowardly display than a tyrant on the run?' U.S. Rep. Chip Roy tweeted

The Freedom Convoy of truckers left Vancouver for Ottawa on Jan. 23 to protest the federal government’s vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers and is calling for an end to coronavirus restrictions. The convoy reached Ottawa on Saturday and was joined by thousands of other Canadians protesting the mandates.

The protests have been peaceful, with most disturbances coming in the form of honking horns, chanting and dancing.

Trudeau’s itinerary for the day usually outlines that he is in Ottawa if he's at home, but on Saturday it said "National Capital Region." Trudeau and his family were moved to a secret location in the capital over alleged security risks, sources told the CBC this weekend

The prime minister’s media office did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the matter.

Critics in both the U.S. and Canada lambasted and mocked the prime minister as "gutless" and "cowardly" for fleeing the protesters instead of addressing their concerns over health freedom.

CANADIAN 'FREEDOM' TRUCKERS MASSIVE VACCINE MANDATE PROTEST CONVOY MAY SMASH WORLD RECORD

The prime minister tweeted on Monday morning that he tested positive for COVID-19, but is "feeling fine."

"This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m feeling fine – and I’ll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please get vaccinated and get boosted," he tweeted

Trudeau condemned the convoy last week and said it is composed of a "small fringe minority" of people who hold "unacceptable views."

Other critics, including Elon Musk, have mocked him for the comment following videos showing thousands of people protesting the mandates.

"It would appear that the so-called ‘fringe minority’ is actually the government," Musk tweeted Sunday.

Ah yes, those wonderful truckers who demanded free meals from soup kitchens set up for the homeless, threatened teen workers at fast food restaurants, blared their horns throughout the night and blocked emergency entrances to hospitals. Instead of posting b.s. from FOX, try the Ottawa Police on Twitter:

Oh, and "puppet" Trudeau had tested positive the day these morons showed up.

"Other critics, including Elon Musk, have mocked him for the comment following videos showing thousands of people protesting the mandates."

Meanwhile, millions of Canadians went about their daily lives.

Here is an idea. Don't appreciate the truck drivers at the protest- don't ever buy anything that they may transport. I know it will be difficult as most are probably for hire owner operators that work for several different companies; but I am sure you are smart enough to figure it out.

As for Trudeau; damned convenient him catching Covid the exact day the convoy he wants to disappear so badly shows up. Even more convenient for him to break quarantine and run off to some undisclosed location- to start sniping from hiding.

As for Canadian outrage- this is a slow day for any BLM/Antifa protest in the US. Let us know when the assaults (actual physical), arson, looting, and murders start. You already have the intimidation and vandalism; but on a very minor scale. Yet I seem to remember that the left kept pushing the narrative that BLM/Antifa protests were "mostly peaceful". Well, this protest is far more peaceful than the vast majority of those. So have fun. Enjoy the protest. Remember, it can always be a hell of a lot worse.

85% of truckers up here are fully vaccinated including a booster. As of 2010 there were 200,000+ salaried truckers and 54,000+ owner/operators. Let me know when FOX reporters condemn their employer for mandating vaccinations.

Canadian Trucking Alliance condemns trucker protests

"The Canadian Trucking Alliance does not support and strongly disapproves of any protests on public roadways, highways, and bridges," the statement read. "CTA believes such actions -- especially those that interfere with public safety -- are not how disagreements with government policies should be expressed."

The "vast majority" of Canadian trucking industry members are vaccinated, the alliance said, noting the immunization rate among truck drivers is on par with that seen among the general public.

Alliance President Stephen Laskowski called for still greater compliance in light of the fact that both Canada and the United States have cross-border vaccination rules in place.

"This regulation is not changing so, as an industry, we must adapt and comply with this mandate," Laskowski said in the statement. "The only way to cross the border, in a commercial truck or any other vehicle, is to get vaccinated."

Unfortunately, the importance of the health and lives of Canadians does not prevail among truckers.

That’s what’s so great about it.  The 85% standing up for the freedom and individual rights of the 15% as it should be.

These truckers are heroes standing up for individual rights, personal and group freedoms, and liberty for all.  I hope that when they are done and getting what they are trying for that they travel from Ottawa to Washington DC then across interstate 80 all the way to interstate 5 and then back to Vancouver where they started.

These truckers would be heroes if they stood up for Canada's Covid numbers per million as compared to the U.S numbers.

Standing up for individual rights, group and individual freedom and liberty is what makes people real heroes.

No the real hero's are the doctor's and nurses on the front line.. putting themselves at risk and their families trying to save stupid and ignorant people..

So why did you get vaccinated?? Why aren't you standing with them...you to could have been a hero...

"These truckers are heroes standing up for individual rights, personal and group freedoms, and liberty for all."

Which is a major reason why America's infection numbers and death from the virus numbers are astronomical in comparison with where the people are more concerned about the good of the community and the lives of their family members are more important than selfishness.

Doctors and nurses as well as first responders are heroes too. Some of them have also been put out of work after being heroes from the beginning. The truckers keeping our stores stocked up from the beginning are heroes too.

Is Elon Musk Canadian?

Yes. He's a naturalized citizen of both the USA and Canada. He's also a citizen of South Africa. See Wikipedia. And, even if he weren't a Canadian citizen, he still has the constitutional right to voice his opinion in the USA ... at least until American progressive Marxists/Communists complete their mission to deny us that right.

Yes but so long as you get your facts right and don't believe everything you see and read..

Feel free to ask people who actually live in other countries and  you will get the true perspective..

Then you will get the fact and not the crap..

Or at least have spent enough time in that country to know more about it than its airport.

You hit the nail on the head with that comment, Shona1.
