Ukraine Official Claims Russian Troops Have Suffered Nearly 3,000 Casualties, Lost Hundreds Of Military Vehicles, Numerous Aircraft

The Ukrainian government claimed that Russia has “suffered” about 3,000 troop casualties and lost 516 kinds of various military vehicles, 80 tanks, 10 airplanes, and seven helicopters so far on Friday, possibly indicating that the Ukrainian people have had some success against the Russian invaders.

The announcement came at approximately 3:00 pm local time and was issued by Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar. Malyar also told the Ukrainian people, “We are strong! Victory will be ours!” in its effort against the Russian military invasion which began early Thursday morning local time.

“Russian forces have lost about 2,800 servicemen and 80 tanks during their assault on Ukraine, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar said on Friday,” according to Reuters.

“She added on her Facebook page that the Russian troops also lost about 516 armoured combat vehicles, 10 aircraft and seven helicopters,” the media outlet added.

The latest figures appear to confirm what U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), vice chair of the U.S. Senate Select Intelligence Committee, relayed on Thursday, stating that the Russian conquest of Ukraine was taking longer than Russian Vladimir Putin expected and was also costlier.

Russia ’s invasion has already taken longer & been costlier than  Putin expected. Almost certain his military & intel leaders knew this ahead of time but no one dared tell him his expectations were unrealistic,” Rubio tweeted.

Rubio also added that one of the main immediate goals of Putin and the Russian army is to overthrow the government in the nation’s capital, Kyiv, and install an interim Russian-puppet government.

Despite that intelligence and the apparent constant barrage of attacks aimed at toppling Kyiv, The Daily Wire reported on Friday morning that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a televised address will not be fleeing the country:

“I know that a lot of misinformation and rumors are being spread now,” Zelensky stated. “In particular, it is claimed that I have left Kyiv. I remain in the capital; I am staying with my people. My family is not a traitor, but a citizen of Ukraine. According to our information, the enemy marked me as the number one target. My family is the number two goal. They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the Head of State. We have information that enemy sabotage groups have entered Kyiv. … I am staying in the government quarter together with others.”

Evidence of the Ukrainian people’s fighting spirit can further be seen in the 13 Ukrainian service members who told Russian battleships to “go f*** yourself,” rather than surrender to their enemies. All 13 service members were killed, but are being praised around the world for dying heroically, The Daily Wire reported .

Video of the interaction can be seen here:

On Thursday, Zelensky also appeared to take a veiled shot at President Joe Biden for what is seen as a lack of support to the Ukrainian army while also directly calling out NATO for its ambiguity as to whether or not Ukraine will be allowed to join that alliance.

Yet, Zelensky also emphasized that his nation is “not afraid of anything,” The Daily Wire also reported :

We are left alone in defense of our state. Who is ready to fight with us? Honestly – I do not see such. Who is ready to guarantee Ukraine’s accession to NATO? Honestly, everyone is afraid. … I tell all the partners of our state: now is an important moment – the fate of our country is being decided. I ask them: are you with us? They answer that they are with us. But they are not ready to take us to the Alliance. Today, I asked the twenty-seven leaders of Europe whether Ukraine will be in NATO. I asked directly. Everyone is afraid. They do not answer.
And we are not afraid of anything. We are not afraid to defend our state. We are not afraid of Russia. We are not afraid to talk to Russia. We are not afraid to say everything about security guarantees for our state. We are not afraid to talk about neutral status. We are not in NATO now. But the main thing – what security guarantees will we have? And what specific countries will give them?

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov reported Thursday that Russians are incurring serious damages due to the invasion

perhaps enough brave people willing to stand up and risk all in defense of their freedom, their liberty, their homeland can do extraordinary near miraculous things to preserve their God given rights against the most incredible long odds and the Jack booted thugs.

Ukraine has a lot of reason to exaggerate the Russian losses. Theres just no way to know what the truth is at this point

It’s great that there are still Ukrainian aircraft in the air carrying the fight to the enemy.

The number of lost Russian planes match up with the stories of this pilot but whether he alone got them all as still unknown.  That Ukrainian aircraft got into the air at all is a minor miracle.  They must have some hardened sites on some of their bases.

Hmm tend to take numbers with a grain of salt...things will be exaggerated in who evers best interest.

We get it from the horses mouth my SIL talking to her rellies about what is happening..

They have seen nothing of the Ukraine armed forces and were heading for the basement as missiles and explosions were heard in the distance. They are 80kms from Kiev.

I wouldn’t expect to see much of the armed forces in the cities.  The military is trying to keep the Russians away from the population centers.  If the Russians do enter a city like Kiev it is up to the civilians to be a large part of the resistance block by city block.  The government there has armed as many who were willing according to news reports.

Morning xx..yep understand that but the Russians went past them at day two...so they are basically now behind enemy lines...

No Ukraine army or airforce to be seen and they are a city of nearly 150,000...

The Russians are already in the out skirts of Kiev... video of a tank running over a car.. people managed to pull the driver out before the tank ran over it again...

Kiev will fall, but now you have to weigh up the damage... continue fighting and decimate the city and its people or let the mongrels in and save lives and the infrastructure.

Either way an absolute crap choice and one I am glad I don't have to make...

Were it to be happening here it would be all in on most civilians part and we worry about rebuilding after the invaders are exterminated or driven into the sea or airlifted out.  If Russia or China came here Red Dawn partisan resistance and sniper cells would be everywhere the military wasn’t.  I hope for the best for the Ukrainian people and the survival of their government.

True but a bit different when the buggars are right next door...

From an overseas country yes you can push them out..but with Russia they will try time and time again.. Ukraine is such a small country they will be ground down.

Putin wants his Empire back and he will do everything regardless of how many times to get it...

Basically the only hope with him if things start changing in Russia itself..and people reach the point of having a gutful of him and turn on him..

We live in hope...

Yes, there’s always hope and faith.  It seems based on news reports over night that the numbers cab ive are relatively accurate.  The Russians carry portable cremation devices so they can minimize their body count.  Also the Ukrainians shot down two Russian transports comparable to our C-117 south of Kiev before they dropped their 100+ paratroopers each as part of the encircling effort.  Some of the Ukrainian mobile SAM batteries survived the initial missile barrage against them.

Russia-Ukraine: Anti-war protests continue in Moscow, St Petersburg, prominent Russian celebrities join

Almost 1,900 Russians have been arrested as of Friday

Protests in Russia continued during the second day of Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine, with prominent Russians joining in major cities across the country.

Russian authorities arrested over 1,700 individuals Thursday as citizens took to the streets of Moscow, St. Petersburg and other major cities to denounce the invasion of Ukraine and demand an end to hostilities, according to OVD Info, an independent organization monitoring political persecutions.

But if Putin’s plan was to end the protests and deter further ones from popping up, he has failed miserably:

Fresh protests started Friday, with prominent Russians in the entertainment and business sectors joining at great personal and financial risk. A further 150 or so people were arrested Friday.

Video posted on social media showed anti-war protests continuing in St. Petersburg despite the crackdown by Russian police the previous day.

Not that much difference between the two.  Trudeau will never be forgiven for what he did as a supposed leader of a liberal democracy.  He has no excuses.  They are both pure evil enemies of free people though Putin is the greater evil of the two.
