GOP-Led States Handled COVID Best: Study
By: Charley Mc Carthy
Enough said. On all the issues from lockdowns to mask mandates, to vaccine mandates/passports red states did a much better job. Blue states almost universally sucked in every regard in how they did things and the choices they made. A bunch of power hungry wannabe dictator mayors and governors.
GOP-Led States Handled COVID Best: Study
States with Republican governors led the way in overall handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new study found.
Utah, Nebraska, Vermont, Montana, South Dakota, and Florida — all states with GOP chief executives — received the highest scores, respectively, The Committee To Unleash Prosperity (CUP) said.
New York, California, New Jersey, and Illinois — Democrat-led states — were among the worst in dealing with the coronavirus, performing "poorly on every measure," the CUP report said.
Thirteen Republican-led states were among the top 15 in the study, which compared state performance on such metrics as the economy, education, and mortality from the virus, and examined how states and their respective governments handled the pandemic response.
"Shutting down their economies and schools was by far the biggest mistake governors and state officials made during COVID, particularly in blue states," Stephen Moore, co-founder of the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, told Fox News Digital.
"We hope the results of this study will persuade governors not to close schools and businesses the next time we have a new virus variant."
Govs. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., and J.B. Pritzker, D-Ill., as well as former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., directed states that "had high age-adjusted death rates; they had high unemployment and significant GDP losses, and they kept their schools shut down much longer than almost all other states," the CUP report found.
Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., replaced Cuomo in August after he resigned in disgrace due to sexual harassment allegations.
Montana, fourth in the study, had a Democrat governor until the 2020 election.
The CUP study also found no correlation between states that enacted stringent travel, vocation, and dining restrictions with lower death totals, Fox News reported.
"The study verifies other studies which have found that locking down businesses, stores, churches, schools, and restaurants had almost no impact on health outcomes across states," the CUP report found, Fox News said.
"States with strict lockdowns had virtually no better performance in COVID death rates than states that remained mostly open for business."
Twenty-one states with Republican attorneys general sued late last month to halt the federal government's requirement that people wear masks on planes, trains, ferries, and other public transportation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The lawsuit, announced by Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and filed in federal court in Tampa, Florida, contends that the mask mandate exceeds the authority of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In a few weeks it will be two years since the great lockdown vs re opening battles between blue and red began and clearly red was right. The worst states in the country were New York, Illinois, Michigan, and California.
And for that red states are seeing in increase of people moving from blue states.
Exactly and California’s exodus would have been worse than it was if not for the growth in population of the more conservative inland valley and foothills communities. Some still have commutes to the big cities while where I live we went after the people who now and during the pandemic work from home since we are too far from even Sacramento for more than a once a week commute. It worked out though because we get the most conservative elements of those leaving big suburbs for a slower pace of life for their families with nice public schools and parks. Our area is becoming even more conservative with the growth we do get. There’s no liberal attempt to move here and turn us blue. Even our area still loses some

people to our future home state of Idaho.
Idaho does not want you or to leave the US...
No one is talking about leaving the US except liberal celebrities when their side loses a Presidential election., Idaho most certainly is interested in the Greater Idaho movement which started in Oregon with its rural counties wanting to join it and now a couple of eastern Washington counties are interested and the Oregon plan includes 6 far north California counties as well (Siskiyou, Modoc, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, and Plumas) with about 375k total population between them. While we like the Jefferson option, we in the northern 1/3 have another that involves no changes to the partisan make up of the house or the partisan make up or numbers in the senate. California would not lose a house seat.
(My comment cut short is pasted below).
Oregon’s Republican seat would be an Idaho seat instead and that’s it. I like the idea of being a part of Idaho without moving.
Greater Idaho would be a great state to be a part of. Our area would be so much better off if we were a part of that state than we are now as an unwanted part part of California.
Covid protocols are about saving lives not money!
But they didn’t do that, did they? The states that had the harshest longest lockdowns, the most onerous mask regulations, and most heavy vaccine mandates also had rates of cases, hospitalizations, ICU, and deaths as high or higher than the ones with no restrictions or the least and shortest of them. The slow economy blue states saved no lives by crippling their kids education or their economy. They should have gone with the declaration fascist Fauci ridiculed and belittled and protected the old and the sick/multiple morbidities and let everyone else get on with their relatively normal lives.
