I haven't painted for a year or so; I think at one point, I didn't paint for 20 years before starting again, then stopping again. In those gaps, I have asked myself if I stop for "fear of failure," or, "fear of success."

Anyway, I do have some 20,000 photographs and digital art work "out there" …

What to do?

Regardless, share your creativity. We're back.

Used to make lost cast jewelry.

Used to paint with oils.

Used to write rock n-roll songs.

Used to climb mountains.

Used to play in concert bands.

Used to be a high level martial artist.

Oh yes, 'Paintigo ergo sum'.  It's good to see those paintings again.   Looking at them is something like looking at clouds and finding figures of animals and things in them.

It seems that every decade or so I summon up the inspiration and the motivation to complete a few canvases. Over time my technique and confidence have grown but I get how you feel. Reviewing my old canvases, I much prefer those where I painted with mature abandon and note how my color palette became much brighter over the years...

Art is a shot at a sort of immortality much like writing. Whether anyone will want or appreciate our art in the future is a crapshoot. I have seen too many good paintings not sell at estate sales lately.

I can't think of what to say.  Well, okay, I have to say that your comment is unusual.  The LensCulture judges would love it - you should send them the whole 5 in that same sequence.   Actually, I think I need a new pair of glasses.  Speaking of LensCulture and their "Artistic" contest, do you think one of the images I posted above would please them more than what I sent?  I think maybe the guitar or the butterfly.

7.1.1  Gsquared  replied to  Buzz of the Orient @7.1    5 months ago

All five are the same image just with different color variations.  I know that the viewer can't really tell, but it is a beach scene. I like them as a group and in that configuration, therefore, I gave them a collective title.

As for the Lensculture competition, your guess is as good as mine.  I can't even decide what I might enter.  You might want to submit the guitar or the butterfly, or even the rose.

Hey A.Mac.  It's a contest for 'Art Photography' and since your name is Art can you tell me which one I posted above that you think is the best.  Since you have good taste and the judges don't, I won't submit the one you choose.  LOL.

I've survived another AEP... The OEP continues, but we are almost through our current client list. Hope everyone is doing well! We are experiencing warmer than normal temps this week and melting some of the surface ice that had accumulated last week. This sunrise shot of WI Point was taken back in 2016 and has far more ice than we have today.

He looks deadly.  Is that a red kangaroo?  When I was at the Lone Pine Koala Reserve near Brisbane you could mingle with the eastern greys because they were docile, but they told us that the red kangaroos were dangerous and they were fenced off.
