I can't remember the last time I was at the garden of the gods, and I live in colorado most of the time. I think my son said they're rebuilding the trails or something due to some natural calamity a couple years ago, but I really can't remember. please remember to vote up the article, art lovers.

Yes, much better.  There was something jarring about the two totally different layers you had before.  Now it's consistent, and you've also put in some stones with different colouration that provides a little variety making it more eye-appealing.

Art: Hey there beautiful, I'm Artie, nice looking wings you have.

Heron: Get lost.

Art: That's no way to talk to a ladies man like myself.

Sounds of scuffle and then Art running away from the Blue Devil.

What?  That much comes from 2 seedlings?  I love tomatoes, just like my father did before me.  He would eat tomatoes like we eat an apple, just bite into it.  What I can't understand here is that all the tomatoes that are sold are not ripe, they're hard as rocks and a lot of white inside instead of all red.  They have no idea whatsoever about how tomatoes should be eaten.

The bushes grew to over 7 foot tall and I had to tie them to the fence..some got fried on the bushes when we had three days around 40c but everything got fried after those couple of days.. including the cat..spent the entire time under the bed..

What I can't understand here is that all the tomatoes that are sold are not ripe, they're hard as rocks and a lot of white inside instead of all red.

A lot of fresh tomatoes in stores are like that here too. I suspect the produce industry has been breeding for looks and not necessarily for eating quality, thinking that pretty on the outside sells better.

Morning...and yes that applies to strawberries here.. look nice on the outside but white, pithy and tasteless on the inside..

I stopped buying them years ago as they are just plain horrible..either grow your own or go to the local strawberry farm where their strawberries do have taste...

Here the strawberries that are imported are like that, big, wrapped, hard and not tasty.  Best to buy the strawberries from the farmers selling them on the street, but wash them carefully.

lucky I only planted two seedlings..

It sure doesn't take many plants to get a whole mess of 'maters does it? Especially with cherry tomatoes.

It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, so today I spread a bunch of manure and hay around the garden and tilled it in a bit. The asparagus is starting coming up, but tomatoes are still months away for me. Probably not before July, like usual.

A rare photo opportunity. Crows are very standoffish and almost never give me a shot.

original

Yellow alyssum, with irises coming up behind it.

The crab apples were gorgeous for a while, but a couple of freezing nights killed the blossoms. The red buds handled the freeze better, and are getting pretty now.

original

The freeze turned the crab apples brown. A little sad, not only because they aren't as pretty as they were, but also because the bees weren't done with them yet.

original

Red bud blossoms.

original

The freeze also hurt the hyacinths, but tulips started popping up afterward.
