The North island has just about disappeared..they have got massive damage and floods there at the moment..lives have been lost, damage to roads, bridges and houses etc..the infrastructure in some areas has collapsed and the Kiwi's are in dire straits..
And still the cyclone lurks and hasn't moved on yet..
The CGTN English language news station here covers in its broadcasts all 3 - Turkey/Syria (can't get used to the new spelling) earthquake, Ukraine crisis and New Zealand cyclone. Today it also covered the Ohio train derailment and the Michigan State University shooting - but not a word about balloons or other UFOs.

Nah...the Kiwi's are tough and we have their backs as they do ours....they'll be right...
All the news is focused on Turkey, Ukraine etc at the moment.. don't think word has got out yet but it's the worst situation I have seen NZ in...
