James Comey Testimony Proves Trump Right, CNN Wrong
The prepared written testimony that former FBI Director James Comey is set to deliver on Thursday morning vindicates President Donald Trump’s claim that he was told three times that he was not under investigation.
At the same time, the Comey testimony refutes reports by CNN and other outlets that Comey would dispute that claim.

When Trump fired Comey, he wrote: “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

As Zero Hedge noted Wednesday, CNN reported on Tuesday that Comey was “expected to refute Trump.” Citing an anonymous source, CNN reported that “Comey is expected to explain to senators that those were much more nuanced conversations from which Trump concluded that he was not under investigation.” Zero Hedge adds that CNN’s chief political analyst Gloria Borger, said: “Comey is going to dispute the president on this point if he’s asked about it by senators, and we have to assume that he will be. He will say he never assured Donald Trump that he was not under investigation, that that would have been improper for him to do so.”

However, Comey acknowledges in his prepared testimony that he did, in fact, tell Trump three times that he was not under investigation: once in a meeting at Trump Tower on January 6; a second time during a dinner on January 27 (which CNN says was “more nuanced”); and a third time during a telephone conversation on March 30. On a fourth occasion, in a phone call on April 11, the president said that he was not under investigation, and was not corrected.

CNN has now added a correction to the top of its story:

CORRECTION AND UPDATE: This article was published before Comey released his prepared opening statement. The article and headline have been corrected to reflect that Comey does not directly dispute that Trump was told multiple times he was not under investigation in his prepared testimony released after this story was published.

Corey’s written testimony contradicts Trump’s account of events in one respect — namely, that Trump asked Comey for his “loyalty.” However, Comey’s prepared remarks add a new revelation, which is that Comey agreed to provide “honest loyalty.” He speculates that it is possible that he had a different understanding of that phrase than the president did. http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2017/06/07/james-comey-testimony-proves-trump-right-cnn-wrong/

What happened to Comeymas? Comey was supposed to support all these batshit crazy theories the left has been running with only to have reality, once again, intrude.

It would probably be better to wait a couple hours before characterizing this hearing. Anyone who thinks this is going to be good for Trump is , imo, delusional.  Just like Trump , lol.

Comey is not even three minutes in to his opening remarks and he has accused Trump and his white House of lying.

Comey is a great one to call President Trump and the Trump administration lairs. He lied more than once at both hearings. Will never go to jail because he has been given immunity by his friend Special Counsel Muller who even coached him before his last appearance before congress.

The law says that Mueller shall recuse himself due to his relationship with Comey.  Not that he will do so though.

The New York Times reported it was  "literally farcical" that Comey would tell trump that he was not under investigation.

Comey confirmed that he did tell trump three times he was not under investigation .

There may be something uncovered that directs the investigation toward Trump at any time. Comey has in fact acknowledged this.

The right is clutching at this one aspect as if it is everything.

The head of the FBI assumed that the president of the United States is a constant liar. It is an endless dilemma for the country to have such a person in the presidency. Trump should be forced to resign asap.

There are no grounds to force Trump to resign now.  None.

If that were the main test for presidential performance ALL of our former presidents would "forced to resign" especially your God Obama ...

Indeed.  It's a good thing Comey is no longer FBI director.  The one he was protecting with his office lost the election.

I'll just note that, when Comey let Hillary's lying ass off the hook, he gave his legal reasoning for doing so. However, he wanted to make clear that his determination for lack of criminal culpability would not be confused with a determination that she did nothing wrong. So he went on to say that she was so careless that she could have been fired if she were a regular employee rather than a political appointee. Yet, democrats carried the banner for her to be president of the United States when the head of the FBI said she isn't even competent enough to hold a regular job in the government she would lead. So now we're supposed to be upset that the FBI director calls Trump a liar today when the other choice was someone who should have been fired for her carelessness (and is also a world class liar). If these are the best both parties have to offer, then they should be abolished.

I don't remember that last sentence, but we can keep our hopes up John.  After a year they're bound to find something eventually, don't you think?  I can think of some other investigations, sorry, 'matters' that could have use this enthusiasm, can't you?  And they actually had evidence to work with to find that smoking gun.

But Loretta called them off or at least tried to.  You know how nice it would have been for her to be able to wear that black robe.  Well, too late now, the people have spoken and no amount of corruption and obstruction could hold them down.

Just think, I still have my 1st and 2nd amendments in tact and the future is looking good.

John McCain appears to be senile.

What a sad performance on national television. And he just won reelection.

If for no other reason that is a good one to get rid of Comey's best friend as special prosecutor, don't you think?

I wish I had a nickel for every unknown source the MSM has used over the last 6 months.  Who knows, now that Comey has admitted to being a leaker, it may have been him.

I mean he says he's an Independent now from being a Republican, so he must have been drinking out of the Liberal cooler.

Comey stated Trump was "NOT" under Investigation at the Time He Comey was in Office, HOWEVER,  Based on TRUMP'S Actions and suggesting to Comey That "I HOPE YOU CAN LET THIS FLYNN INVESTIGATION GO, FLYNN IS A GOOD GUY" That does not mean that "NOW" Trump is not been investigated by requesting THE FBI DIRECTOR Shut down an investigation OF Flynn.. Anyone who has ever been given a DIRECTIVE By An Employer "KNOWS" That Trump was requesting COMEY  to Close any Investigations pertaining to FLYNN...IT IS THAT SIMPLE!!!

Exactly Jefferson.  Only if he ordered him to stop the investigation would it have been a directive and at that time Comey could do the same thing he said he did when he said Trump told him he was thinking about ordering him to investigate the "Golden Shower" accusation against him.  Still many believe that it is true.

Can you convict someone for saying I hope you anything?

Comey told Trump that he wasn't being investigated and he privately told congress the same thing. But he declined to announce it publicly and lift the cloud created by the MSM, who insists on implying that an investigation of Russian involvement in the election involves an investigation of Trump. Everything else is leaked and published but this information was either not leaked (hard to believe) or it was leaked but not deemed newsworthy. Can't the MSM at least make the effort to mask the fact that it's the propaganda arm of the anti-Trump resistance?

No, they can't. They almost want everyone to know how much they hate Trump and the GOP and want to be there to take credit if they can bring him down.
