Arizona mayor slams Biden administration for leaving city 'completely in the dark' while migrants are 'dropped off'
An Arizona mayor slammed the Biden administration for not providing his city with any documentation on the health status or number of migrants being "dropped off" in the town by the federal government.

I suppose to the Biden Administration, this isn't a crisis as long as they can drop off aliens wherever and whenever they want, thus absolving the Biden Admin. of any responsibility.

Part of the solution to a problem is recognizing when you have one. The Biden Admin. refuses to see it as any kind of problem at all.

No solutions will be forthcoming from it.

Just amnesty and a constant, steady wash of people coming here and many staying here illegally.

No problemo for the Biden Admin!

"We're a very economically depressed community. We can barely afford to take care of the people that we have here in our community now," Gila Bend Mayor Chris Riggs said. "And as of the 2nd [of March], Border Patrol advised us they're basically going to drop people off here and [say] 'They're your problem.'"

Riggs, who is an independent, said so far the administration has left his city "completely in the dark" about the migrants dropped off there, including their health status and how many the city can expect to host.

Riggs also expressed frustration that the situation will cost the city "tens of thousands of dollars a year to be able just to provide them with a bottle of water and a sandwich when they get dropped off."

ARIZONA SHERIFF SAYS BIDEN PLAYING 'POLITICS' AT BORDER IS CREATING 'HUGE CRISIS': 'WE'RE SERIOUSLY IN TROUBLE'

The mayor said that the price tag is a result of the lack of communication from the federal government, which leaves him unprepared.

"They're not able to give us how many. They can't give us what background[s] these people are. They can't tell us what their health issues are. I've got a lot of seniors and elders here between Gila Bend and San Lucy Village that are very susceptible to COVID," Riggs said. "We have not seen the [coronavirus] outbreak that other areas have seen in Arizona, yet we're going to get punished for [the federal government's] choices."

The mayor said that repeated attempts for information have gone unanswered by the administration, leaving him frustrated with trying to pick up the pieces of a "crisis they started."

"We are completely in the dark," Riggs said. "Give us something. We're still not getting anything. So I mean, we're really frustrated with how we're being treated through a crisis that they started."

Riggs isn't the only official in a border state expressing frustration with the new administration's policies, with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announcing he was deploying the National Guard and law enforcement officials to the border to assist with the crisis.

The administration has so far been unwilling to acknowledge the situation at the border is a "crisis," instead insisting that it is a "challenge" that will be overcome as they continue to implement that president's immigration agenda.

Hell, let's just do away with borders at all.

Democrats will be thrilled, and just think of the money that we spend on "border security" which can be diverted into housing and feeding the millions who will end up coming.

And with the huge push for $15 per hour minimum wage, just think how many U.S. dollars the newly-arrived immigrants will be able to send back to their home countries!

Sounds like a Democratic plan!

If one actually reads the article, the mayor outlined his problems obtaining info from the Biden Administration.

from the START of the article:

An Arizona mayor slammed the Biden administration for not providing his city with any documentation on the health status or number of migrants being "dropped off" in the town by the federal government.

And:

"They're not able to give us how many. They can't give us what background[s] these people are. They can't tell us what their health issues are."

And

The mayor said that repeated attempts for information have gone unanswered by the administration, leaving him frustrated with trying to pick up the pieces of a "crisis they started."

"We are completely in the dark," Riggs said. "Give us something. We're still not getting anything. So I mean, we're really frustrated with how we're being treated through a crisis that they started."

Yeah, really, really sounds like the mayor can't get diddly-squat from the Biden Administration. And YOU blame the MAYOR?

Just a lame attempt to blame a mayor for the failures of the Biden Admin..

Can't be having the Admin. admitting that there even IS a problem, never mind taking any responsibility for their policies.

Wrong, Republicans are for building a wall which does nothing about illegal border crossings, but does put a lot of money in their friends pockets.

Judging from the seed, the Mayor doesn't have any clue whether ANYONE has actually been dropped off in his town. An article that I read said that CBP is working with NGOs to aid asylum seekers with testing, quarantining if necessary and then transportation to family or friends.

Me thinks the Mayor dost protest too much.

That is an answer that goes to a right wing conspiracy.

If it is your answer about amnesty, you are either mistaken, or you are propagating a known falsehood.  But I am sure you would never purposely post a known falsehood, so I assume you are just mistaken.  The correct answer is Ronald Reagan.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986—signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on November 6, 1986—granted amnesty to about 3 million illegal immigrants in the United States.

That isn't any kind of answer to what I asked.

History shows that it is Republicans that are pro amnesty.  You do agree that Reagan was a Republican, don't you?

I'm not addressing your question, I am addressing your statement that Republicans want to strengthen border security.  Doesn't the promise of amnesty by Republicans give cause to increased border crossings, more so than anything Biden, or any Democrat, has done?

Ummm, your seed is about ONE Mayor in ONE town who has NO evidence that ANYONE has been dropped off at all.

And how do you know that the folks dropped off in this town were asylum seekers?

AGAIN, there is NO evidence that ANYONE has been dropped off in 'this town' Tex. In fact, another less bias article states that the NGOs that the Biden Administration is working with have asked the CBP to AVOID releasing anyone in backward towns like Gila Bend because they don't have a bus or train station.

While not all that are being released are asylum seekers, those that are released in most counties in AZ, like Puma, are being tested before being released to travel.

Yeah, and you can see the "posters" who just want to play Urinary Olympics and provide absolutely nothing to the discussion.

The mayor's problem is the same one for many, many of the towns/cities in the SW border states.  The Feds don't need to answer to the local communities - not in their chain of command.  Illegal Aliens are continually dropped off in communities, usually at a bus station or train station, so they can get transportation to some other location in wishful thinking that the Illegal Alien can get to a "sponsor" of sorts.  It don't happen.  The Illegal Aliens will usually, if they have the funds, go to a larger city, get off the bus/train and "disappear" into the masses.

If I was the governor of a border state, I would be purchasing buses and parking them at the border,  as these illegal immigrants are released or come across the border illegally, I would offer every one of them free transportation to  Washington DC, and would drop them off at Congressional Complex.   When there are thousands of people sleeping on the Whitehouse lawn, maybe something will be done to address the issues at the border.
