Biden wants to move on from the Americans he abandoned in Afghanistan
President Joe Biden is moving on from his summer crises. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the Americans he stranded in Afghanistan.

Biden is "hoping to turn the page" on those Americans, in the words of the Associated Press. It's no wonder why that's the case: Biden is a cynical politician who is willing to disregard his responsibilities as a president in order to achieve his domestic agenda. After all, what are a few hundred American hostages to the Taliban when there is infrastructure and new social programs to spend money on?

And those Americans are hostages. Six planes are ready to take 19 U.S. citizens and two permanent residents, among hundreds of others, out of Afghanistan. Two of those planes are at an airport in northern Afghanistan, but the Taliban won't let them leave. A congressional source told CBS News that "the Taliban is basically holding them hostage to get more out of the Americans."

But Biden has moved on. While Secretary of State Antony Blinken bemoans that it is difficult to evacuate Americans without personnel present (who would have thought?), Biden is now preparing to travel to California to campaign for embattled Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom. Apparently, saving Newsom's mediocre political career is more important than bringing home Americans who are at the mercy of a group of backward terrorist thugs.

Biden can hardly acknowledge that he abandoned Americans in Afghanistan thanks to his chaotic withdrawal. After all, his administration repeatedly assured us that they planned for every contingency. Hundreds of Americans, along with permanent residents and America's Afghan allies, being left to the whims of the Taliban? This was all planned for, Biden has told us.

Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal was a disgrace. He can't be allowed to run from that just because he feels like it's time to move on. He managed to do everything wrong, culminating in the Taliban conquering the country and claiming a few hundred American hostages in the process. It shouldn't need to be said that that is more important for the president of the United States than a languishing infrastructure bill or Newsom.

Democrats best hope and pray that the vast majority of Americans forget all about Biden's screw-ups

People will remind them every day of the fuck up in chief they put into office.

There will be no "moving on"; no matter how badly Democrats, their sycophants in the media; and their lemming followers want it.

So much for holding the Taliban responsible; and making them follow their word to allow free travel to US citizens and those Afghans that aided us. The Taliban's word didn't even last a week. Neither did Biden's.

A page out of the Obama Admin. regarding "lines in the sand"?

Obama's "lines in the sand" didn't put US citizens in danger behind enemy lines. It just made him look stupid and pathetic to the rest of the world.

If only Biden could achieve the same instead of endangering Americans; weakening our standings with our allies; and emboldening our enemies.

Biden didn't abandon anybody. 124,000 evacuated. 100 left that either wouldn't leave, couldn't be found and are still being looked for. Sounds like a pretty successful evacuation to me.

Those that stayed likely stayed for a variety of reasons.

None because of abandonment. We're still pulling them out if they want to go.

124,000 evacuated only 100 left. A logistical marvel from our military.

But of course it has to be all Biden's fault to right wingers.

Silly us, daring to think that the President may have some part in the decision-making process. Must only apply to other Presidents.

One of those reasons being they were abandoned by the mumbling moron in the WH.

A logistical marvel from our military.

The military did step up to try to get them out.  No thanks to Biden Administrations ineffectiveness and incompetence.

Only time will tell if they were the right afghans. It was such a mess that anyone who showed up had a fair chance of getting on a plane and Biden was only concerned about a high number so he could pretend we got all the afghans who helped us out of there.

The words from the WE:

"Biden is “ hoping to turn the page ” on those Americans, in the words  of the  Associated Press ."

The words from the AP:

"After a torrent of crises, President Joe Biden is hoping to turn the page on an unrelenting summer and refocus his presidency this fall around his core economic agenda."

Sorry, he doesn't get to "turn the page" on US citizens he abandoned. No matter how badly the left want it to be so.

We should punish Biden by removing his Congressional majorities next year. Make him a lame duck.

Impeachment would be a better option for Biden; and Harris as well if she doesn't behave herself and hide for the rest of the term. But by the looks of it McConnell has a soft spot (besides his head that is) for his old buddy in the White House.

Some of the very senior members of the Republican House and Senate may need to be replaced; or at least removed from positions of power. Too many ice cream socials with sleepy Joe have rotted them.

Sure it stands. Denying that US citizens were abandoned in Afghanistan is par for the leftist course.

But Biden has moved on.

Sure he has.  Build Back Better has become Joe Doesn't Have Your Back.

What a disgrace of a human being.

Wrong circus.

Unless the Democrats are recruiting? Never can tell when they start fawning over the likes of Liz Cheney and Kinzinger. Those two are Pelosi's temporary lion tamers. Once the Democrats are done using them they will be thrown to the lions- literally.
