Dozens dead in "most severe tornado event in Kentucky's history."

Appx 30 tornadoes ripped through six states overnight, leaving paths of utter destruction. There could be as many as 100 people dead, if not more.

Some may attribute the outbreak to climate change....but  tornadoes are not all that unusual in December.

Perhaps they should have raked the prairie.

Steve, I 'feel' you! And I know exactly where this retort is drawing. Some of the freakiest bull patty people say when they are looking for alternatives to getting along with others and making life work for the good of all of us!

I want the best for those who are now suffering. And for those who are determined to separate themselves from others, financially and emotionally, go start over from scratch! See how far you get without help from "OTHERS."

(I hate deeply to "go there," but I am sick and tired of these "ferocious people" who can't empathize with anybody else but themselves. Even then, it's not until their own 'worlds' are upended and destitute.)

There are just too many 'fakers' of self-reliance, independence, and freedom (in the extreme) who mouth the words, but advantageously forget that the reason we live in cities and even small towns is because most people need the aid, assistance, and supports plural from OTHERS.

The governor of Kentucky says there are 100 dead in Kentucky alone.

I read where a family-owned factory that made custom candles and various other items their factory was leveled with over 100 people in it. The last time they reported that they had freed 40 plus people from the wreckage.

I've read that this may have been the longest continuous tornado on record.  Four states in four hours.

Such a devastating loss.

From the left:

"We should do all we can to help our Kentucky neighbors. God be with them — they are hurting. But do not for one second forget that Rand Paul has voted against helping most Americans most times they’re in need."....Rep Eric Swalwell.

BREAKING: Rand Paul DEMANDS that President Biden “move expeditiously” to send federal disaster aid to Kentucky, but he voted against relief for Hurricane Sandy victims in the North East and Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico. RT IF YOU THINK THAT RAND PAUL IS A HYPOCRITE!

And the same for that freak of nature: Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. As much as my heart aches for these people of Kentucky and the other affected states, I can not help being disturbed in my spirit that this country is set-back by some conservatives who will not work in-concert with liberals as One.

And so, we continue to toil on through the years suffering while being the "greatest nation the world has ever realized"—in spite of ourselves!

He hit it on the head, Paul voted against help for PR and the NE.

He's nothing but a hypocrite at best.

Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell suddenly find our *socialist* government useful.

Such foolish men and women can have all these ideological notions of "rugged individualism," "freedom," and "liberty" while stifling those of others. But God. But nature.

Keeps revealing to us that we are not going anywhere without going hand in hand as one nation!

Now they sit again in the dirt. All their hard-work coming to naught! Why? Because we can't be a team. Thus, we 'burn,' 'tumult,' 'spin,' and 'sputter' on through time and space.

Some conservatives you will not succeed if you do not take the hand of liberals and march forward together.

It's nice to see your venom being spewed at Paul appears more important to you than the people in need.

Were you affected by it? Tornado sirens went on and off for about an hour Friday night but it was too dark outside to see anything. After the tornado sirens went silent I heard the first responder sirens. I don't think we got a lot of damage in my area but Jonesboro did. My daughter used to live there when she went to school. Apparently a nursing home collapsed. I haven't heard anything about the casualties
