Elon Musk Poised To Take Over Twitter

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

NEW YORK, April 25 (Reuters) - Twitter Inc  (TWTR.N)  is poised to agree a sale to Elon Musk for around $43 billion in cash, the price the chief executive of Tesla Inc  (TSLA.O)  has called his "best and final" offer for the social media company, people familiar with the matter said.

Twitter may announce the $54.20-per-share deal later on Monday once its board has met to recommend the transaction to Twitter shareholders, the sources said. It is always possible that the deal collapses at the last minute, the sources added.

Elon Musk , who seems more like a Bond villain than a good guy, is expected to acquire ownership of twitter in the near future.

What are the odds he lets Trump back on?

WOW!

The free exchange of ideas and opinions. What a concept! With fair moderation and little political bias

Why shouldn't Trump be allowed to return?

Already there, what you will gain is once again the free exchange of falsehoods and conspiracy theories.  All so Trump can restart his campaign of lies in preparation of 2024.

Not even close.  If lying was enough to get you kicked off twitter then Jen Psaki, anyone that says Putins gas hike, anyone that says CRT is not being taught in schools, anyone that says there is no border crisis, anyone that said inflation was transitory, etc., etc., etc. would also be kicked off twitter

Doesn't matter to me one way or another as I'm not on Twitter and won't be in the future, have no need to be on it.

But if Twitter wants to proclaim themselves as a public town square then it seems to me they should allow everybody in.  Fair moderation is a good thing, allowing personal bias to dictate who should be banned is not.

JR asked you a question and you leap to a diversion.

Politicians lying to the public is a fundamental problem with government worldwide and historically.   And while almost every politician lies (almost by necessity nowadays) there are levels of lying.   Trump is demonstrably one of the most prolific liars, if not THE most prolific liar, of our times.    He is on the extreme end of the liar scale.   Condoleeza Rice, for example, is on the opposite side of that scale.

Why would anyone support the return of arguably the most extreme liar of our times to the office of PotUS?

There was a guy , whose name escapes me at the moment, who had the job of tracking Trump's lies for a Canadian newspaper, the Toronto Star. Every so often he would publish a list of trump's most recent lies, and go into detail as to why they were lies .  Eventually the list grew to the tens of thousands.

TiG, you are a Trump hater.

You conflate hatred with clarity on who millions seem to be supporting.   Communicating the blatantly obvious reasons why Trump should not be supported as the leader of the GOP and potential candidate is objective analysis communicated to some who are blinded by partisanship.   Thinking 'criticism' = 'hatred' is naïve.

The Constitution says lies and even hate speech are free speech and btw your man ...

Biden is not 'my man'.   That is the second time you have made up a fact.   Buy a vowel.

... Biden has lied more than anyone.

Biden certainly has his share of lies.   For you to think he (anyone, really) holds a candle to the perpetual lying of Trump just illustrates partisan blindness IMO.

Twitter has allowed the worst kind of dictators/murderous regimes to use it's site, but a former President had his account closed.

Yes.   So other than expressing your disagreement, what point are you trying to make?

PROVE IT!

Prove a question?:

TiG@1.2.6Why would anyone support the return of arguably the most extreme liar of our times to the office of PotUS?

The word 'arguably' is an extremely obvious sign that this is a hypothetical question, not a claim of certainty.   There is no burden of proof here.   The question is why anyone would support such a person.

Your non-answer deflection is an answer.

You see John, leftist news anchors and pundits have repeated lies about Donald Trump and race so often that even those saying it begin to believe it.

Like when Trump said “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing, I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press” and it was twisted to Russia go hack Hillary's e-mails.

Or when Trump said “Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group.  But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides.  You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did.  You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”

And that was twisted into Trump calling Nazis fine people.

I'll leave it to the rest of you:  WHO DID THE LYING?

You can feel what ever the fuck you want because your words are just wind.  As I said, why would anybody go to any social media format including Twitter and believe what they are told without verification?  If you need to feel sorry for anybody you really should feel sorry for yourself as you do have a messiah complex with this.  There is so much more going on in the world and all you seem to be able to focus on is Trump.

But blase?  I can take that a step further in that I just don't care about Trump on any platform.  I don't search things out to follow him, I really don't care.  But if it makes  you feel better about your life by all means continue to howl at the sky.

But, you seem to be blase about Twitter allowing murderers and thugs and dictators on the platform but only seem to be against some Republicans.  Why is that?

The rally was promoted and conducted by white supremacists. The person who applied for and received a permit from the city to demonstrate in that park that day was a white supremacist. It was all over local media that the rally was a gathering of white supremacists. And yet Trump makes the false equivalence of "fine people on both sides."  How much of a fricking moron is he?  Or maybe he was just lying yet again. Take your pick.

I don’t really have an opinion on musk, but it hardly seems possible he could make Twitter worse.

what’s really amusing is seeing the same people who responded to conservative issues with bias with brusque dismissal of “it’s a private company, and “build your own platform,”,absolutely freaking out about it being a “threat to democracy” that musk will own Twitter.

Liberals seem to believe if they need to  censor all dissenting views to “win” consistently.  Maybe they should concentrate on winning the battle of ideas instead.

And with the push to go green I would expect more of them to sell each year.

I do find it interesting however,  Tesla went public in 2010 and they have never paid out a dividend.  With that said however, a $1000 investment back in 2010 would now be worth $150k now.

I see quite a few of his cars here every day so at least here, there is a lot of interest.

I have never seen one in real life. Of course he is not very popular in these areas.

They are also taking a hit as another one of his cars had an accident the other day.

It is going to get to the point there are cheaper options than his over priced ones.

I saw one where the "smart summon" feature function ran it into a $3.5million jet. Not a real smart summon. Perhaps it is so smart that it panicked thinking it was going to the principal's office LOL

As I said to Jim, with the push for electric, there will be other options available.

Plus now his what I would call base of customers were mostly Liberal people. He is alienating them.
