NPR blasts GOP governors for busing illegal immigrants to DC 'with no plan for what's next' | Fox News
NPR accused GOP governors of having no further plan beyond busing illegal immigrants to liberal cities such as New York City and Washington, D.C.

NPR became the latest mainstream outlet to attack Republican governors for the growing migrant crisis in liberal cities.

On Friday, NPR promoted their coverage of New York City and Washington, D.C., struggling to handle increasing numbers of illegal immigrants being dropped off in their cities by Govs. Greg Abbott of Texas and Doug Ducey of Arizona. The title of their article read "GOP governors sent buses of migrants to D.C. and NYC — with no plan for what's next."

"Texas and Arizona governors continue to send buses full of migrants and refugees to Washington, D.C.'s Union Station, just a few blocks from the Capitol building. Upon arrival no government officials are there to meet them," NPR's Twitter account wrote.

Abbott has sent buses of illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C., since April in protest of the Biden administration's refusal to act on the border crisis plaguing Texas. Ducey later began sending his state's illegal immigrants as well.

NPR noted, "Critics — including some Republican state and local officials — have called Abbott's plan to bus migrants to D.C. 'political theater'. Still, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey joined Texas and started busing migrants to the nation's capital in May."

The article also quoted Abel Nunez, head of the Central American Resource Center, who criticized Abbott's plan as a "media hit."

"I felt that he truly wanted to get a media hit out of this," Nunez said. "And that eventually two or three weeks later when everything would die down, he would stop doing it."

Abbott has since vowed to continue to send more buses as both D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and NYC Mayor Eric Adams report emergency situations in handling migrants.

Multiple media outlets have blamed Abbott and Ducey primarily for the migrant crisis plaguing more liberal cities away from the border. The New York Times accused them of "causing havoc" while Vanity Fair suggested that the Republicans "successfully created a migrant crisis" through Abbott's busing strategy. The Washington Post called it "a cruel, political stunt" that has devolved into "relentless, inhumane cruelty."

These comments echoed accusations from the Biden administration that Abbott and Ducey's actions are using migrants as "political tools."

"There is a process in place for managing migrants at the border; this is not it — what they're doing currently," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters late last month. "That includes expelling migrants as required by court order under Title 42, transferring them to ICE custody, or placing them in the care of local NGOs as they await further processing…Again, so what Republicans are doing, the way that they're meddling in the process and using migrants as a political pawn, is just wrong."

Fox News' Adam Shaw and Brooke Singman contributed to this report.

Sounds as if NPR is just shilling for the Democrats' and Biden's failures regarding border 'security'.

The 'no plan' should have been directed at Biden, since it is his policies that have brought on this miraculous 'crisis', which is seemingly only a 'crisis' now that Democratic sanctuary cities are being affected because of Biden's failure.

Joe and Kamala OWN this 'crisis'.

That is just too funny. jrSmiley_10_smiley_image.gif

"There is a process in place for managing migrants at the border; this is not it — what they're doing currently," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters

Please then do enlighten us as to what the fuck that process is. Oh wait, is it to just release them into the border states?

That seems to be the Biden 'plan'.

It appears to be a rousing success!

Why are a few busloads of immigrants suddenly a 'crisis' when the Biden Administration has been allowing them in and shipping them all over?

Screw Democrats. They caused this mess at the border. They should have to share in the pain.

Maybe if enough Democrat governors start calling the White House for help Brandon will get the damn message.

If not; then Democrats had better be prepared to drown in illegals with no help from the Federal government; just like Republican southern states.

Detroit and Chicago should be the next two stops for the illegal busses. Whitless and Pritzker need to feel the pain as well.

They could send them to Jacobys for a meal

Great German food at that Motown bar.

I’m sure they would love the business.

Abbott and Ducey are simply pointing out the hypocrisy and NIMBY-ism of the big city liberal powers that be.

They found sanctuary in the cities - isn’t that what they meant?

So now the sanctuary cities don't like the feral cats they wanted other places to have to put up with.

Political theater?  Well, freakin' duh.  NPR has another Homer Simpson moment.

The border states can't plan for illegals jumping the border whenever they choose.  The border jumpers show up unannounced and expect to be taken care of.  The liberal elite don't seem to understand that's the whole point of the political theater.

Abbott has made his problem the problem of New York, Maryland, and Washington D.C. too.  NIMBY liberals are getting a taste of life on the border.  And those NIMBY liberals don't like it.  NIMBY liberals are only expecting the border states to suffer in silence.  Those rural backwaters aren't important.  The most important thing for NIMBY liberals is to keep the problem of illegal border jumping out of their backyards.

" The border jumper show up unannounced and expect to be taken care of."

And just why should we be expected to take care of them?  and who gave them that idea?

"GOP governors sent buses of migrants to D.C. and NYC — with no plan for what's next."

Biden did not have a plan for what's next, so it seems Abbott had to come up with a plan on his own because no plan was coming from Washington
