Lite FM 93.9 in Chicago will begin playing nothing but Christmas music at midnight tonight through Dec 25. This is the earliest they have ever switched from their usual soft rock format to a program of all Christmas music.
Good Morning America just played a clip of Mariah Carey, sitting astride a plastic reindeer , "officially" declaring the opening of the Christmas season.
The avalanche of election commercials will now be replaced by the avalanche of Christmas commercials.

Geez, I opened up iTunes today and it was full of Christmas stuff. I mean I love Christmas and Christmas music, but come on man! It’s November 1st. I still haven’t put Halloween away.
Even worse though, I was in Costco and they had Christmas stuff out a month ago.
Tomorrow all the stores will be changed over to Christmas displays. Its on.
At this rate we'll be hearing Christmas music on Labor Day.
They were just waiting for Halloween to get out of the way.
