The strange case of Ryan Routh

The strange case of Ryan Routh
"We allege that the defendant made repeated, heinous threats to murder and torture Supreme Court justices and their families to retaliate against them for decisions he disagreed with," Attorney General Merrick Garland said in a statement.

The more we look into Ryan Routh's history, the stranger it gets. Routh hailed from a good family. He was the son of a Chemist and is the brother of a banker and a lawyer. Routh was once named the citizen of the year by the local police department where he grew up, after he saved a woman from a rapist. How did he become involved in so many crimes? So how did he come to be flagged to the FBI?

He couldn't pay child support and only had $68 in his bank account, yet he was flying all over the world. The other house he stayed at in Hawaii is believed to be owned by his girlfriend. The girlfriend the FBI can't seem to locate. Routh once spent two weeks in Taiwan. He went to Turkey, Poland and then Ukraine. He spent 8 months there. Who did he meet with there? Supposedly he was recruiting fighters for Ukraine from Afghanistan and Iraq and Syria.

Then he flies back to America and tries to kill the former President.

Very strange. Fear not. The FBI is on it.

There is another strange case out there. You may not have heard about it but an Alaska man was arrested for allegedly threatening to injure and kill six Supreme Court Justices and some of their family members in retaliation for decisions he disagreed with. They won't tell us who the 6 Justices are, but I think we can all guess. After all we have an ideological divide on the Court with 6 on one side and 3 always on the other.

In the news:

Startling numbers of people on the terror watch list may be in the country according to testimony before a House Committee yesterday.

The Israeli offensive in Lebanon has intensified as IDF forces struck 100 Hezbollah targets immediately after the leader of Hezbollah said that the group would retaliate for the pager sabotage.

In posts on an online porn forum more than a decade ago, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina, the Republican nominee for governor, described himself as "a black Nazi." It is mainly all the media is focused on now. Robinson denied the posts were his. Some aides to Donald Trump had hoped Robinson would withdraw, but Robinson has refused.

Stocks reached new highs after the Fed cut interest rates and made it easier for investors to borrow on the cheap and get decent returns.

Lawmakers are discussing increasing the Secret Service’s budget after two assassination attempts against Trump.

The sheriff of a rural Kentucky county walked into a courthouse and fatally shot a district judge after an argument.

Good morning.

Kamala Harris and Oprah Winfrey. Kenny Holston/The New York Times

Oprah Winfrey hosted a livestream forum for Kamala Harris. Guests included the family of a woman who died as a consequence of Georgia’s abortion ban. There were no questions concerning any of Harris Marxist ideas on price controls or electric car mandates. As Mark Penn said on a nightly news show: "The Trump voter seems to be voting on policies, while the Harris voter seems to be voting on likeability."

Georgia's abortion ban is not connected to a policy?   If not, then why did they do it?

Kamala did repeat her idea of helping small business with more money:

Indeed.

Many are exhausted with the hate and lies made up and amplified and repeated regarding Springfield and Aurora.

And now the former 'president' said he's going to visit there in the next two weeks

Two cities rocked by false Trump claims prepare for him to visit

Story by Avery Lotz
    18h     3 min read

T he mayors of   Aurora, Colorado , and   Springfield, Ohio , have offered differing responses to the prospect of a visit to their cities from former   President Trump ."

Why it matters:   Both mayors are grappling with high tensions and safety concerns after Trump and other GOP lawmakers   spread false   or exaggerated claims about their cities.

  • Republicans had already echoed misinformation that members of a Venezuelan prison gang had   taken over apartments   in Aurora.
  • Trump and his running-mate Sen.   JD Vance   (R-Ohio) have tripled down on conspiracy claims about Haitians over the past week, even as the city has been rocked by   threats .
  • Trump vowed Friday to conduct the " largest deportation " of undocumented immigrants in the country's history, starting in Springfield and Aurora.

Driving the news:   At a Wednesday night rally, Trump said he planned to make stops in both cities within the next two weeks.

  • "You may never see me again, but that's OK," Trump   said   to the crowd at his New York rally.
  • He   continued : "I got to do what I got to do. Whatever happened to Trump? Well, he never got out of Springfield."

State of play:   Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman, a Republican, told Axios Thursday that city officials are waiting for confirmation from the campaign that Trump is coming.

  • "I'm very excited that the former president wants to visit our city to see for himself that the narrative that we are being overrun by TdA gang members is false," Coffman said in a statement shared with Axios, referring to Tren de Aragua, the Venezuelan prison gang.
  • Coffman had previously said apartment complexes had "fallen" to gangs, but later said   he agreed with police   that gangs weren't in control.
  • He added that he was eager for Aurora's police chief to "have the opportunity to brief the former president on our successful efforts to identify and arrest TdA gang members."

However,   the Republican mayor of Springfield,   Rob Rue,   said at a news conference Tuesday that a visit from Trump would put "an extreme strain" on the city's resources, following   reports   the former president was planning a trip there.

  • "So it'd be fine with me if they decided not to make that visit," Rue added.

Zoom out:   Despite calls from members of their party to stop circulating the rumors and consistent reports that the claims were false, the GOP ticket doubled down and has since repeatedly shirked blame for the threats to Springfield that have ensued.

  • The Wall Street Journal   reported   that on Sept. 9 — the day Vance first amplified claims about migrants in Springfield — the city manager of Springfield told Vance's office that the rumors weren't true.
  • The VP nominee said at a Tuesday rally that "every single one of those bomb threats was a hoax," and argued that all of the threats came from overseas.
  • But Ohio Gov.   Mike DeWine , a Republican, told PBS Newshour some threats came from inside the U.S., emphasizing the unfounded claims "need to stop."

Go deeper:   Vance pushes debunked pet-eating claims yet agai

"Four hundred thousand people clicked-through from Taylor Swift’s Instagram account to a federal voting information site in 24 hours, but social media posts have misrepresented that number as a tally of new voter registrations.

The global pop star   announced   her support of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in an Instagram post minutes after the presidential debate on Tuesday and encouraged her 284 million followers to register to vote in the Nov. 5 election. Taylor Swift mobilizes 3X more voters than Biden with Harris endorsement

Story by Chloe Berger
    6h     3 min read

Miss Americana finally weighed in on the future of the nation, or at least who should hold the reigns.

Last week,   billionaire   pop star Taylor Swift   endorsed   Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris right after the debate. We're just now starting to see how much power the Swiftie voting block holds, as Swift’s impact solidifies.

Biden backed Harris just shy of 2 p.m. on July 1st with a memo posted to   Twitter . While he didn’t have a unique URL, his endorsement’s weight can be measured (while perhaps casting a wider net) by looking at traffic from vote.gov that same 24-hour period. During that time frame, there was a total of 109,208 total users to said site, according to GSA.

That’s all to say, Swift’s endorsement carried 3.7 times the weight of Biden’s.

Visitors to   vote.gov   vary too widely to provide a consistent daily visitor average.   Vote.gov   tends to receive more visitors during presidential election years, and around significant election events. During the eve and day of the debate, Vote.gov received around 726,000 visitors.

Swift spoke out against an AI post using her likeness in which she appeared to endorse Former President Donald Trump, as shared by   Trump   on his platform Truth Social.

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” she wrote, explaining she’s voting for Harris as a champion of causes she believes in and her running mate Tim Waltz as he supports “LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body.” She signed her letter  “Taylor Swift,   childless cat lady ,” as an apparent reference to Trump’s running mate JD Vance’s comments.

People are divided on Swift, as 44% of “likely voters” report feeling favorably for her and 34% unfavorably per a New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and Siena College   poll   conducted in September.

But no matter what party you’re in, there’s no denying Swift’s apparent   influence . In just six months, her Era’s Tour generated $5 billion in consumer spending according to estimates from   Nomura .   United Airlines   says   that Swift’s concerts sent travel demand up by 25%. With a cultish following that leads to fans   traveling nationally   to her concerts, Swift has fashioned herself into more of a corporation than a pop star.

Vic , I did read once she made her endorsement , she shared a link to vote.gov on her fan site . and that at the time i read the article , it had garnered over 330,000 hits  through that portal , problem is , no one knows exactly how those registrants will vote , they of course are free to assume anything .

So i will at least give her kudos for getting people to register at the least .

They are only hits.

I don't give awards for her getting people to vote who weren't going to vote. There has to be a reason to vote for somebody.

Little effect because Harris is already winning!

Harris will end up winning by 20,000,000 votes.

How Much or what do you think Powell was offered to lower the prime by a half point this close to an election?
