Biden family makes 'admission of corruption' in foreign business deals: China expert | Fox Business
Potential Biden family payouts from Chinese business deals didn't happen without "payoffs, influence peddling and, yes, corruption," China policy expert Gordon Chang warns.

Biden family likely guilty of 'payoffs, influence peddling, corruption' with China: Gordon Chang

After President Biden claimed allegations of family payments from Hunter Biden's business associate are "not true," one China expert and author has signaled an "admission of corruption" from the First Family.

"The spokesperson for Hunter Biden's legal team said that, oh, this is okay because this was seed money, good faith seed money," Gatestone Institute senior fellow Gordon Chang said on "Mornings with Maria" Monday. "Now, in these types of transactions, nobody pays millions of dollars without a contract."

On Thursday, GOP lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee revealed that they had obtained bank documents showing that the president's son, Hunter, the president's brother, Jim, and Hallie Biden, the widow of the president's late son, Beau, received payments from Hunter's business associate Rob Walker and their joint venture with Chinese energy firm CEFC.
A spokesperson for Hunter Biden's legal team confirmed the payments Thursday, but emphasized that the recipients' accounts "belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie - nobody else."

When approached by a reporter on the White House lawn Friday, Biden denied that the payments were made, saying, "That's not true."

Then, Hunter's legal team accused Republicans of pushing a "baseless right-wing conspiracy theory" with a spokesperson stating the capital was part of "good faith seed funds."

Alleged Biden family payouts from Chinese business dealings doesn't happen without "payoffs, influence peddling and, yes, corruption," Gatestone Institute senior fellow Gordon Chang said on "Mornings with Maria" Monday. (Fox News)

"This is essentially an admission of corruption, and I'm sure that the House Oversight Committee is going to follow up on this. But this doesn't happen in the real world in the absence of payoffs, influence peddling and, yes, corruption," Chang said.

As part of the Oversight Committee's "Biden Family Investigation," Chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., reportedly subpoenaed financial records which revealed that, on March 1, 2017, less than two months after then-Vice President Joe Biden left office, State Energy HK Limited, a separate Chinese company, wired $3 million to Robinson Walker, LLC.

According to a committee memo, "Biden family members and their companies began receiving incremental payments over a period of approximately three months" from Mr. Walker.

"This is essentially an admission of corruption… this doesn't happen in the real world in the absence of payoffs, influence peddling and, yes, corruption."
- Gordon Chang, Gatestone Institute senior fellow

"In the beginning, the White House denied having any knowledge or the fact that their family was involved in any sort of way, shape or form with the CCP. But now we have bank records that reveal otherwise," Rep. Comer told host Maria Bartiromo on Sunday. "We don't know what the Bidens did in return for this money. The lawyer said that it was seed capital for a business. We haven't been able to find a business. Right now it looks like the Biden family just pocketed this money."

Okay, let's hear the utter outrage about President Biden outright LYING about the payments.

Oh, never mind, hypocrites will ignore this.

No no no no. The hypocrites are all over this, starting with James Comer and FoxNews. If there is a crime here then it needs to be prosecuted. I expect all the Bidens, including Major, to be indicted any day now.

There's no rush.   Democrats have been after Trump for at least 7 years now. Still no indictment.

Yup. Republicans will get to it in time, I'm sure. I'm surprised that Jim Jordan hasn't hauled Obama admin people yet to testify on bugging Trump's microwave. Surely it's on the list?

Donald Trump 's senior aide  Kellyanne Conway  has suggested Barack Obama could have monitored the President through a microwave.

Don't hold your breath with the pile of human refuse Garland as DOJ.

Remember when Democrats were screaming for a special prosecutor for Trump over their BS Russian collusion hoax? They got their wishes; and the most partisan TDS investigative team they could possibly assemble of Clinton and Obama surrogates and backers. Leaks abounded; and lies even more.

Well Hunter has been under investigation for well over three damn years now by the Delaware, DA working in conjunction Garland and the DOJ. Could they slow walk this case any more? They have stopped the investigation twice for federal elections. Where is the damn special prosecutor?

The top federal prosecutor in Delaware decided to pause a criminal investigation of Hunter Biden months before the 2020 election to prevent the public from learning about it, according to a report.

US Attorney David Weiss, appointed by former President Donald Trump, decided not to seek search warrants or issue grand jury subpoenas so as not to “alert the public to the existence of the case in the middle of a presidential election,” Politico reports .

The prosecutor’s office reportedly was torn over whether to continue its probe or pause it due to the election, and Weiss, who remains in his job leading the case, sided with those who wanted to wait.

“To his credit, he listened,” an unnamed source told the publication.

Think they would have given the same consideration to Trump? Hell no, it would have been leaked several thousand times over; complete with faux informants being reused countless times by media outlets.

WTF are they waiting for? They have Hunter's business partners are cutting deals to avoid prosecution and turning evidence. They have stated repeatedly that "the Big Guy" is Brandon when it comes to receiving payouts. They have countless tags from the FED on the Brandon family's business dealings overseas and money transfers. I am sure Garland will allow charges to be pressed sometime after Brandon completes his second stint as POTUS, or he dies; whichever comes first.

Of course Hunter is acting like the spoiled political brat he is. Wonder where he got the self entitlement from?/S

On the menu today: Hunter Biden’s decision to write letters to the Department of Justice, the Delaware attorney general, and the Internal Revenue Service demanding investigations and prosecutions of his critics — such as Tucker Carlson, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon and others — is being touted as “aggressive.” To me, it looks stupid. Probably the easiest way to ensure that a criminal investigation is perceived as a partisan vendetta is for it to begin after the president’s son publicly demands it . Almost everyone Hunter Biden’s lawyers wrote to either has close ties to the Biden family or owe their jobs to Joe Biden’s nominating them to the position, and they ultimately answer to the president. By publicly demanding that federal and state prosecutors unleash the hounds, Hunter Biden has ensured that anyone who does prosecute his foes looks like they’re obeying the commands of the president’s spoiled, screw-up son.

Takes a lot of gall to defend the Brandon family.

Takes a lot of willpower to care. I don't have it... I wouldn't lose much sleep if any politician past, present or near future gets carted off in handcuffs. If they committed an actual crime, get indicted, have a trial and are sentenced and appeals upheld then they system did it's job. IF not, I'm not I'm not privy to all the information and I won't jump to conclusions as to guilt, or innocence.

and FYI -  I care less about some politician's grown ass adult kid less than I care about the politician himself.

Why are you keeping score here? Partisans are doing partisan things and they keep doing/saying partisan things for partisan reasons. There's probably some truths in there, but again they get lost in the noise of partisanship.

Yeah? So what?

Facts are facts. Nothing changes facts. What are the facts, in context to the article?

  • Congress has Hunter Biden business banking records
  • A business associate that also had business dealings with a Chinese energy company send payments to Joe Biden's  brother Jim and Beau Biden's widow
  • Joe Biden said he had no knowledge of those payments

Anything else?

Probably. I mean the way he worded it, it most certainly seems to be. Is it evidence of a crime? No, it's only Monday and another lie for Joe, or any politician for that matter isn't particularly noteworthy. YOU know the Dems don't care about Joe's lies anymore than the Reps care about McCarthy's lies so where does that leave those of us caught in the middle? Other than both sides accusing us of NOT being in the middle?
