GOP Senate Campaign Chair: Finish Border Wall, Name It After Trump
"No one has a 'right' to come to America," declared Scott in an 11-point plan he released in the absence of any broader Senate GOP agenda.

Sen. Rick Scott released a campaign agenda on Tuesday calling for the wall on the US-Mexico border to be finished and named after former President Donald Trump.

The first-term Florida Republican, who currently serves as the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and is in charge of overseeing the national party's midterm Senate strategy, released an 11-point agenda on Tuesday declaring that "the hour is late for America."

"This is what people think, by the way," Scott told Politico, which first reported on the new agenda. "If you talk to a normal, non-woke family, this is what they think."

The fourth point on the agenda, which focuses on immigration, declares that "we will secure our border, finish building the wall, and name it after President Donald Trump."

"We welcome those who want to join us in building the American dream, immigrants who want to be Americans, not change America," reads the document. "We are a stronger nation because we are a nation of immigrants; but immigration without assimilation makes us weaker."

The document also declares that "no one has a 'right' to come to America," takes aim at "cultural segregation," and claims that immigrants are being incentivized to leave their home countries and come to America "to receive government benefits." The plan calls for immigrants to be barred from collecting "unemployment benefits or welfare" for the first 7 years after they arrive in America.

"We have plenty of welfare recipients — we need productive citizens instead," says the document.

In an interview with Politico, Scott clarified that the agenda is separate from his official work as the head of Senate Republicans' campaign arm. But he's also drawing a stark contrast with Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who has resisted releasing an agenda for Republicans ahead of this year's midterm elections.

"That is a very good question, and I'll let you know when we take it back," McConnell told reporters in January when asked about how Senate Republicans would govern if they retook the majority. "The election this fall is a referendum on this all-Democratic government."

Scott declares in the 31-page document that Republicans "don't deserve to govern" if they have "no bigger plan than to be a speed bump on the road to America's collapse."

"We must resolve to aim higher than the Republican Congresses that came before us. Americans deserve to know what we will do," said Scott in a "letter" at the beginning of the document.

Trump first ascended to the presidency in 2016 in part by capitalizing on fears of immigrants coming across the southern border and pledging to build a wall. But despite lofty initial plans, the US only added about 450 miles of fencing along the border during Trump's presidency, and construction has since been halted by the Biden administration.

Insider commissioned a photographer last year to document the unfinished parts of Trump's border wall.

in spite of numerous pressers declaring the wall "finished' and "promisie kept"

'the wall' is only 40 miles longer than Obama's wall, at a cost, depending on the source, of between $8 to $15 Billion dollars.

According to a CBP status report , the U.S. has constructed 438 miles of “border wall system” under Trump, as of Dec. 18. Most of that, 365 miles of it, as we said, is replacement for primary or secondary fencing that was dilapidated or of outdated design. In addition, 40 miles of new primary wall and 33 miles of secondary wall have been built in locations where there were no barriers before.

So the footprint of the wall is 40 miles longer than it was before Trump took office.

CBP says it has funding in place to construct another 241 miles of fencing where there were no barriers before. But border experts say most of that is not going to get built.

Trump's Border Wall: Where Does It Stand? - FactCheck.org

The border is 1,954 miles long,

There's literally no excuse for the "wall" being 254 miles short of complete along CA, AX NM borders because the gubmint

owns a 60 foot easement along the border

TX on the other hand was a sovereign Country with private property along the border settled in the Mexican war settlement.

Roughly 300 miles of "wall' exist mainly around Brownsville in the east and El Paso in the west with 1000 mile wide open in between.

Current cost per mile is approximately $16million without the cost of litigating, purchasing or condemning

for 1,000 miles through freedom loving, anti Fed Texas.

So the estimate to actually complete the "Wall" is close to $2Trillion.

Do we have $2 T to devote to something that rusts, falls down and doesn't stop the "invasion"?

$8 to $15 Billion dollars

I am betting that the costs were inflated, much of that money going into pockets.

I DISAGREE!

There has been a "wall" between San Diego and Tijuana for 30 years.

Just because it is occasionally repaired doesn't make it a new wall.

If you have a 30 year old house and replace the roof, you still have a 30 year old house.

It seems like a simple concept.

Or you could read the information provided and accept the facts as they are.

The last Administration could have extended the wall 400 miles or properly constructed the secondary fence

required by the 2006 legislation all the way across CA, AZ and NM where they have unfettered access.

Instead, they chose to take the easy route where previous Administrations had done all the legal shit work

and permitting and just do mass marketing of a "big beautiful wall" and declare it almost finished.

.

Well, all I want to know is if Mexico will also pay for the nameplate declaring the wall to be Trump's?
