'Steve Bannon Is Naming Names': MSNBC Anchor Alarmed by 'Chilling' List of People Ex-Trump Adviser Wants Prosecuted in a Second Term

Former Donald Trump adviser Steven Bannon has pledged that a second Trump term will bring "accountability" to those involved in the ex-president's prosecutions.

Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Detroit on Saturday, Bannon singled out Attorney General Merrick Garland , Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco , and Special Counsel Jack Smith .

Trump, who was convicted in New York last month of falsifying business records, is under federal indictment in two jurisdictions, where he faces charges of trying to overturn the 2020 election and retaining classified documents after leaving office. The former president has also been indicted in Georgia for trying to overturn the election results in the state. He has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

Trump has said he will seek "retribution" for what he calls his "persecution" at the hands of President Joe Biden and the Department of Justice. Biden has said he has no involvement. Meanwhile, Biden's Department of Justice has secured a conviction of his son Hunter Biden on federal gun charges. The younger Biden is also set to stand trial in Los Angeles on tax felonies.

For his part, Bannon is scheduled to report to prison on July 1 after being convicted of contempt of Congress. He had ignored a subpoena issued by the House Jan. 6 select committee.

On Sunday's Alex Witt Reports on MSNBC, the host played a clip of Bannon's remarks the night before.

"We're coming after Lisa Monaco, Merrick Garland, the senior members of DOJ that are prosecuting President Trump," Bannon told the crowd. "Jack Smith. And this is not about vengeance. This is not about revenge. This is not about retribution. This is about saving this republic! We're gonna use the Constitution and the rule of law to go after you and hold you accountable."

Alex Witt turned to former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance for her reaction.

"How chilling is it that Steve Bannon is naming names ?" the host asked.

"So, for somebody who says it's not about revenge or vengeance, he seems to contradict himself pretty quickly," Vance answered. "The career ranks at DOJ, the people who do their jobs day in and day out and are committed to the Constitution, those folks aren't legitimate targets for retribution. And I think it's chilling to hear what's going on here. This is payback for Donald Trump being held accountable."

As we have known all along Donald is the biggest NO-LOAD in his stack of NO-LOADS. People need to stop listening to and playing 'footsie' with this tacky human being and piss-poor repeat president wannabe! All Donald has is his 'bite' and he can only 'tear' and 'chew chunks' that his surrogates and supporters bring him.  Stop playing with someone who only knows how to 'hit' back. Beat Donald to the punch: Go on the offense and. . .Knock his butt out—politically! NOW!

Bannon is a clear and present danger to the American way of life.  He loves Putin, though.
