Been Very Busy

I was hoping to spend more time here - writing. I find that and cooking to be very cathartic.  However, life catches up and makes life overwhelming.  Have I missed anything?

So work has been very busy, new hospital data system has gone live and I may or may not have a job in the upcoming months.  I am getting too old to be looking for another job.  The good thing is I can come home and be wrapped in the loving arms of my family in my home.  I look forward to that every day.

Blessings abound:  my daughter is better (not cured, but managing),  my son is dealing with his agoraphobia as best as possible,  hubby working hard as always, kitties are home to snuggle with.

Although my Chinese wife is a fantastic cook - she grew up on a farm and uses many veggies I had never heard of, and is capable of walking through a wild field and coming back in half an hour with enough edible greens for a meal for us.  As much as I enjoy cooking the few things I can make myself (besides many different American breakfasts), I actually enjoy washing the dishes (no dishwasher here) because I find it to be a very relaxing thing to do.

I never really realized how truly tired I was until I fully retired. Even after retiring from my previous job of 17 years, which was truly very demanding, I still felt that I was not accomplishing what I should be. So I started a second business and along with that I was a Microsoft software Instructor at two separate Community Colleges, and was awarded as an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) by Microsoft. I lived in a small town and was always busy working with people to learn the newest release of Office, Windows, Exchange Server and other type of software.

When I had to move in with my elderly Father to take care of him there was no time for work outside the house, so I did a lot of work at home via the Internet and E-mail. But, that too, became too much to handle along with my Father's growing needs, do I finally fully retired. It was then that realized how very tired I really was, mentally and physically.

I stay busy now with doing Technical Beta Testing for several software companies, which allows me to work at my own pace. Far less stressful and much more relaxing.

I will keep both your Daughter and Son in my prayers. I wish them all the best and hope they will overcome their challenges soon. (smile)
