Republicans must unify against the Left
"It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree." We the People

The democrat left is a clear and present danger to all that America is and who we are as an exceptional nation.  We must unify to protect our beliefs and ideals as well as 1776 America, one nation under God in whom we trust.  The GOP is a multitlracial coalition of patriotic middle and working class Americans who put America and the American worker first, a nationalist populist conservative and libertarian group of great people sharing great values and beliefs.

Republicans must unify against the Left

The GOP must unify to "Make America Great Again" and keep focus on the real enemy: A corrupt, deeply confused and dangerous left-wing regime that now holds the reins of power in our nation.

Former President Donald Trump captured the core of the problem in his official statement following his acquittal in the Senate impeachment trial:

"It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree."

This is the state of affairs today.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, salivating over the one article of impeachment hastily passed by her House against Trump, used national time and resources to do this for one reason and one reason only: to personally damage Trump and create division in the Republican Party.

It was clear that there was no way Donald Trump would be convicted in the Senate. But politics was the point, not the Constitution.

Now that President Trump has been acquitted, the left-wing media is stepping up to do its part to fan the flames and assure that no burning ember that could potentially damage Republicans is wasted.

Longtime Fox News token lefty Juan Williams wrote a piece for The Hill newspaper under the guise of truly caring about the health of the Republican Party, offering his heartfelt advice to Republicans to purge the "kooks" in favor of the conservatives. Or, as he says, to choose "reality" over delusion.

Williams, saying he's got Rep. Liz Cheney's "back," defends her against the pursuit of Republican "kooks" who condemn her for voting to impeach Trump.

For years, the media has portrayed the Democratic Party -- the party of abortion on demand, same-sex bathrooms and every failed socialist idea known to mankind -- as the party of sobriety and sanity, in contrast to Republican wackos.

Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley availed herself to an interview with Politico, which did the expected hatchet job on her.

This was one of these so-called interviews where not the full transcript was published but rather only snippets, interlaced with comments and editorializing by the interviewing journalist.

The headline practically all of the media have run about the interview includes Haley saying that Trump "let us down."

This extraordinary woman of accomplishment comes off in this feature as lost and confused.

Let's face it. President Trump's challenge of governing in the face of "fake news" and media dominated by liberals was real.

Maybe it's wrong for someone, certainly the president of the United States, to become angry and combative.

But consider that Trump spent the first half of his presidency fending off fabricated charges of abuse of power and conspiracy to influence the 2016 election, which led to his first impeachment and acquittal. And it turned out that the basis of it all was a dossier whipped up by someone in the employ of the Democratic Party and used as legitimate intelligence by the FBI. And all the perpetrators of this horrible, corrupt scheme are off scot-free.

I appeal to Republicans to not let the smoke bellowing forth daily from the Democratic Party/left-wing mainstream media complex blindside them.

Our nation is limping, deeply wounded and dangerously close to fiscal and moral bankruptcy.

There is a reason why Americans picked a man with no prior political experience as their president in 2016. "Make America Great Again" was about the critical and noble crusade to restore "one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Compared to this vital and noble mission, current injuries and differences in the party are but superficial wounds.

Republicans must unify to continue working to restore American greatness and keep focus on the real enemy: A corrupt, deeply confused and dangerous left-wing regime now holds the reins of power in our nation.

...Democrats have failed to convict the former president on the charge of inciting an insurrection – something they hoped to do in order to preclude him from running for office in the future.

During a recent podcast, Tom Zawistowski, president of the tea party-affiliated We the People Convention, said this was all about politics.

What immediate role would you like to see President Trump take on behalf of the GOP? (Select up to 2)

"This has nothing to do with Donald Trump inspiring or instigating or causing that assault," Zawistowski asserted. "It is totally political. The goal is to make sure that they never have to run against Donald Trump again, because they know that Donald Trump beat them this time and would beat them again. That's what this is all about."

Though the vote to convict fell well short, seven Republicans ultimately sided with the Democrats. Pennsylvania's Pat Toomey, who is retiring at the end of 2022, was among them. A pro-family activist in his state hopes the GOP will hold the U.S senator accountable.

"I believe his loyalty was at Senator Toomey's convenience,” comments Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania. "I don't know if he's always been a Never Trumper, but it definitely came out once he announced that he is not going to run for reelection."

She dreads having to "endure his move to the left throughout the rest of his term" but hopes Toomey will be held accountable by the state GOP the way other Republicans who supported the impeachment are being dealt with in their own states. Wyoming's Liz Cheney, for example, has been censured for voting to impeach, and Gramley hopes The Keystone State does the same with Toomey.

But despite the acquittal, Zawistowski does not expect the left to leave Trump alone.

"I think they're going to go after his businesses. I think they're going to go after him personally," he predicts. "Their goal is to just dog him and dog him and wear him down until he just gives up."

But the tea party leader also does not expect Donald Trump to give up....

Although Biden may face some division in the Democrat Party due to the sometimes extreme wishes of the progressive wing, I believe the Republican Party faces a more serious division in the chasm between those who favour Trump and those who don't.  The best result that could happen for the Democrats to hold the three levels of American political power (although there is a fourth that may be in the pocket of the Republicans - the SCOTUS) is if there is sufficient division among conservatives that they break into two separate Parties.

The odds are greater that the democrats will split between their establishment and progressives wings than the GOP with its establishment and populist wings.  The reason why is the base voters of each party.  There is a more even divide among the voting base of the democrats than in the GOP where the populist conservatives outnumber establishment chamber of commerce conservative republicans by 5-1.

New Poll: Twice As Many GOP Voters Say Trump Better President Than Reagan

Despite efforts by establishment Republicans to rid ‘their’ party of former President Donald Trump, his supporters — and their voters, for the most part — aren’t having it.

In fact, by far, a majority of Republicans actually hold Trump in higher reverence than “The Gipper” and the party’s first president who just happened to have freed the slaves.

The Epoch Times reports:

In a new Economist/YouGov survey, 36 percent of Republicans called Trump the best, while 18 percent called Reagan the same, 13 percent called President Abraham Lincoln the best, and 11 percent said the same for President George Washington.

Republicans chose Reagan over Trump 36 percent to 10 percent in 2018, according to the poll.

“The change in GOP rankings since 2018, when the last survey was conducted, is striking. In 2018, Republicans ranked Reagan first (36 percent), followed by Trump (10 percent). Now, the positions are reversed, with the percentage of Republicans who name Trump as the best President ever having tripled to 36 percent, twice the number who still choose Ronald Reagan (18 percent),” the survey said.

The poll is just the latest indicator that Trump, not the Mitch McConnell/Mitt Romney faction of the GOP, remains well in control of the Republican Party....

It does not matter which party or ideology is involved.   It is childish and counter-productive to attack someone simply because they are 'the other side'.  The rational adult would attack (or defend) for cause and would never do it simply for spite (as one would observe with a petulant child).

Attacking for cause necessarily means the attacker can provide a cogent, fact-based, reasoned explanation for the attack.   Not something like 'because they did it to us' or equivalent.

From the article:

But consider that Trump spent the first half of his presidency fending off fabricated charges of abuse of power and conspiracy to influence the 2016 election, which led to his first impeachment and acquittal.

This is not a factual statement. I am sure, if I cared to, that I could find several more factually incorrect statements in the article.... I just wonder how you can turn around and say, "This article is right and correct in everything that the author states' when so much of it is provably non-factual.

Keep on hammering and the result will be the Democratic party in power for longer.
