Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Goes Nuclear on Biden Over New COVID Mandates in Must-See Rant

by Kyle Becker about an hour agoupdated 32 minutes ago

Governor Ron DeSantis has clearly had enough of President Joe Biden and the CDC’s imperious overreach into the lives of Americans and the State of Florida’s affairs.

On Wednesday, the Republican governor, who is widely considered to be a contender for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination should he announce, sounded off on Biden’s COVID mandates.

Watch below:

“We can either have a free society, or we can have a biomedical security state,” DeSantis said. “Florida, we’re a free state.”

“Joe Biden has taken it to himself to try to single out Florida over COVID,” DeSantis said. “This is a guy who ran for President saying he was going to quote shut down the virus. And what has he done? He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide-open southern border. You have hundreds of thousands of people pouring across every month,” he continued.

“And it’s not just from Mexico; in fact, it’s rarely from Mexico,” DeSantis added. “You have over 100 different countries where people are pouring through. Not only are they letting them through there, they’re farming them out all across our communities across this country, putting them on planes, putting them on buses; you think they’re being worried about COVID for that? Of course not.”

“So he’s facilitating who knows what new variants are out there, but I can tell you whatever variants around the world, they’re coming across that southern border,” he went on. “And so he’s not shutting down the virus; he’s helping to facilitate it in our country, and what is his big solution? What is he so upset about Florida?”

“His solution is he wants to have the government force kindergartners to wear masks in school,” DeSantis said. “He doesn’t believe the parents should have a say in that. He thinks that should be a decision for the government. Well, I can tell you in Florida, the parents are going to be the ones in charge of that decision,” DeSantis said, as the audience applauded.

“And one of the major medical people in his administration just recently told parents that they should be wearing masks at home when they’re around their own children. This is insane. Joe Biden also believes that vaccination should be mandated by force of government and that you should have to show vaccination status to be able to participate in society now,” DeSantis said. He said plainly that Biden “rejects science.”

“He rejects science because he denies the fact that people that recover from COVID have long-lasting immunity, and that’s been proven time and time again,” DeSantis continued. “The data is very clear, so his vision is just like in New York City (where some people think) restaurants should ban young kids from being able to go in because they’re not eligible for vaccination and law-abiding citizens have to produce proof of their medical records, just to go to the gym or attend events, or just to participate in everyday society.”

“He wants that, but yet if you want to vote, he thinks it’s too much of a burden to show a picture ID when you’re voting,” he added. “So no voter ID, but you have to show your medical papers just to be able to live in everyday life? Give me a break,” DeSantis bellowed.

“And so I think the question is, is, we can either have a free society, or we can have a biomedical security state, and I can tell you, Florida. We’re a free state, people are going to be free to choose to make their own decisions about themselves, about their families, about their kids’ education, and about putting food on the table, and Joe Biden suggests that if you don’t do lockdown policies, then you should ‘get out of the way,’” DeSantis added.

“Well, let me tell you this,” DeSantis said. “If you’re coming after the rights of parents in Florida. I’m standing in your way; I’m not going to let you get away with it.”

“If you’re trying to deny kids a proper in-person education, I’m going to stand in your way, and I’m going to stand up for the kids in Florida. If you’re trying to restrict people, impose mandates. If you’re trying to ruin their jobs and their livelihoods and their small business, if you are trying to lock people down, I am standing in your way, and I’m standing for the people of Florida.”

“So why don’t you do your job? Why don’t you get this border secure, and until you do that, I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you,” DeSantis concluded.

I gotta differ a bit here.  Wearing a mask is about reducing the potential of spreading the virus from you to others.  Unless you are a medically trained individual wearing an N95 mask, odds are very good you are not very protected by that mask yourself. But it's major purpose is to reduce the droplets you put out from breathing, speaking, etc in order to reduce the potential of spread. As the very young are still unable to get a vaccine I personally believe that everybody in the school setting should wear masks.

What does voter id have to do with beating the virus?

Nothing, but evidently DeSantis feels he should connect the two, and he did in this "rant".

Florida GOP Gov. DeSantis Fires Back at Biden: 'Do Your Job'

This iframe is not allowed

By Eric Mack    |   Wednesday, 04 August 2021 05:15 PM

After President Joe Biden tried to deflect blame on Republican governors like Florida's GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, DeSantis fired back, telling the president pointedly to "do your job."

"Why don't you do your job?" DeSantis told reporters Wednesday, saving his heated remarks for the very end of an 18-plus minute news conference. "Why don't you get this border secure?

"And until you do that, I don't want to hear a blip about COVID from you."

The point was obvious.  Biden thinks that it’s needed that we show our papers to government to prove we have been jabbed yet thinks it’s Jim Crow on steroids to simply present the ID you need to have to buy cigarettes or alcohol or get on an airplane to get your ballot.

Covid and voting are two completely separate issues. Its like saying that because you have a license to hunt deer in Minnesota you should be able to land helicopters on the roof of your house.

“OH MAN”: Joe Biden Reportedly Not Happy After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Humiliated Him on Live Air

by Collin Rugg 4 minutes ago

According to conservative reporter Jack Posobiec, President Joe Biden was not happy with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis after he completely obliterated him on live TV after the Biden Administration specifically targeted the state of Florida’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Well, let me tell you this,” DeSantis said during his press conference on Wednesday.

“So why don’t you do your job? Why don’t you get this border secure, and until you do that, I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you,” DeSantis blasted.

Posobiec, who has a source in the White House, claimed Biden was “heated” after watching DeSantis’ press conference.

“Biden got heated watching DeSantis presser in the WH and went “This guy! Oh man!”” Posobiec tweeted.

“I’m told that DeSantis presser was all him. Not staff-written,” Posobiec added.

DeSantis to Biden: 'I don't want to hear blip about COVID from you' until you do your job and secure border

DeSantis said Biden is 'importing' COVID from around the world

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted President Biden on Wednesday telling him to do his job and secure the southern border and not say "blip" about the coronavirus until he does.

"Why don’t you do your job?" the Florida Republican said during a press conference Wednesday. "Why don't you get this border secure? And until you do that, I don’t wanna hear a blip about COVID from you, thank you."

"This is a guy who ran for office saying he’s going to shut down the virus," DeSantis added . "And what has he done? He’s imported more virus from around the world by having a wide open southern border."

Joe Biden also believes that vaccination should be mandated by force of government and that you should have to show vaccination status to be able to participate in society now,” DeSantis said. He said plainly that Biden “rejects science.”

My question is this. How can one either reject or accept science, when the reporting on the subject matter is less than transparent?

I've been reading about Massachusetts for a while, because the state, for a while, seemed to actually be reporting the numbers. As of August 3, I can't say that's the case.

A small number of those breakthrough cases — 395 — have resulted in hospitalizations, according to the state. The hospitalized breakthrough cases are only about 0.009% of fully vaccinated individuals.

Sounds great. 0.009% of those vaccinated, what a small number. The problem I have with this breakdown is that I'd like to know the total number of hospitalizations since January, vax or not. I'd like to know the hospitalized numbers concerning the delta variant, total, vax and not. I don't want to know the percentage of vaccinated people that wind up in the hospital. According to Massachusetts numbers, there are currently 245 people hospitalized in the state. see below link.

How many of those 245 in the hospital are among the 395 vaccinated people reported hospitalized by Massachusetts? That's what I want to know. Currently, vaccinated and unvaccinated, only 0.0036% of the total Massachusetts population is in the hospital with covid. (assuming 6.895 million residents). If they minimized everything on those terms, we wouldn't be having a conversation.

Gov. Ron DeSantis Has Perfect Comeback to Biden’s ‘Governor Who?’ Response Over Border Crisis

by Kyle Becker about 4 hours ago updated about 3 hours ago

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took his running feud with President Joe Biden to another level on Friday with a snappy comeback to his “Governor who?” response on Thursday.

DeSantis had launched a salvo at the Biden administration for its blatantly disastrous response to the U.S. border crisis.

“Why don’t you do your job?” DeSantis said in a viral rant . “Why don’t you get this border secure? And until you do that, I don’t wanna hear a blip about COVID from you, thank you.”

White House correspondent for NBC News Kelly O’Donnell tried to get a reaction from the president. “Governor who?” he replied.

On Friday, DeSantis not only had a great response of his own, he escalated it. And then some. Watch:

DeSantis laughed when he was asked to respond to Biden’s quip.

“I guess I’m not surprised that Biden doesn’t remember me,” Governor DeSantis said. “I guess the question is, what else has he forgotten?”

The audience let out a loud laugh.

“Biden’s forgotten about the crisis at our southern border, I can tell you that,” he went on. “Biden has forgotten about the inflation that is biting the budgets of families throughout our country.”

“Biden has forgotten about the demonstrators are fighting for freedom down in Cuba,” DeSantis added. “And Biden has even forgotten about the Constitution itself, as we saw with what he did with this moratorium.”

“And I can just tell you, I am the governor who protects parents and their ability to make the right choices for their kids’ education,” the governor said. “I am the governor who protects the jobs and education and businesses in Florida by not letting the federal government lock us down.”

“I am the governor who answers to the people of Florida, not the bureaucrats in Washington,” he remarked.

The Florida governor is not the only thing Biden has forgotten lately. On Friday, he completely forgot the population of the United States, and claimed that 350 million people were vaccinated.

“I remind myself, 350 million Americans have already been vaccinated,” he claimed. The population of the U.S. is 330 million people.

Earlier, he forgot how much money was being given away in certain states for vaccination incentives, claiming it was $100,000 before correcting himself.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis thus seems to be drawing a bright line between himself and President Biden ahead of the 2024 electtions. Whether or not the Florida governor runs, and if Biden is able to run again for office, like he earlier planned, is very much an open question.
