Report: Border Patrol Agents Furious With Biden’s Promise To Make Them ‘Pay’: ‘He Just Started A War’
Border Patrol agents are reportedly furious with President Joe Biden’s comments on a debunked claim that some agents were whipping migrants at the border.
Biden on Friday addressed claims that Border Patrol agents on horseback were “whipping” and “running … over” migrants attempting to enter the U.S. illegally. Though no evidence has been given to support the claims, Biden pledged that the agents allegedly responsible “will pay.”
“To see people treated like they did? Horses running them over? People being strapped? It’s outrageous,” Biden said. “I promise you those people will pay. There will be consequences.”
“It’s dangerous, it’s wrong. It sends the wrong message around the world, it sends the wrong message at home. It’s simply not who we are,” he added.
Biden’s claims sparked angry reactions among Border Patrol agents who have been stretched thin attempting to curb a surge of illegal immigration into the U.S. that began shortly after Biden won the presidency last year. Agents speaking to Fox News panned Biden’s comments.
“Would you go to work and do your best knowing that if you do your boss is going to ‘make you pay?’” one agent said. “I’m dumbfounded and don’t know what to say.”
“Is the president threatening to throw us in prison?” he asked.
Another agent said, “I see the administration wants to fry our agents. He just started a war with Border Patrol.”
Brandon Judd, who represents thousands of Border Patrol agents as president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), ripped Biden on Thursday. Judd accused the president of turning on his own law enforcement officers.
“I’ve been patrolling the borders since Clinton was the president and I can tell you personally, that the policies that have been in place were by far the best under President Trump and President Biden completely and totally dismantled all of those policies,” Judd said in an interview on Fox News. “And when you look at our Border Patrol agents, when they are sent down there to that job, and by the way, Mayorkas was down on the border, and he saw the horses, he knew the horses were out there, and now he’s making, doing a 180.”
“But when our agents are out there trying to patrol the border, do their job to the best of their ability, then they’re vilified by the president,” he continued. “You know, we feel like why even go out there and do it? Why put on that uniform? Why care about the American public? That’s why we do it; we put on that uniform because we care about the American public; we want to go out there and we want to protect them. And Joe Biden is trying to break that down.”
“If President Biden wasn’t the president right now, I would arrest him for aiding and abetting,” Judd later said.

I thought that too. Biden is just mad because when they were there with the horses no more criminal illegals crossed the River there. Can’t have that!

Sean - think I've mentioned it before, but I live in a neighborhood with 14 CBP personnel - border patrol and management staff. They are all FURIOUS at the stupidity of what this administration is doing to the immigration program.
Ask any of them if they have ever used twirling the reins to communicate with a horse.
They don't. It was meant to keep immigrants from touching or otherwise interfering with the horses.

I trained a cutting horse once. Once the horse became proficient, I just hung on and let him do his job.
The border patrol officers riding those horses did a great job. They harmed no one and effectively kept illegals from staying on our side of the river while they were there.
Like moving along and maneuvering along a semi steep river bank and moving in and out of water and land. The horse is always going to guess what its rider wants it to do?
I am referring to training for cutting events in an arena. I never really did it in the field. I did rescue a pregnant cow once caught in flood waters after an el nino. I ended up cracking the tree of my saddle but it was worth it to save the mama and her baby.
You're obviously not a rider - not meant as a put down. Read Paula's 4.2.3. - a properly trained horse just needs "adjustment" while being ridden.
BTW - these are not "cow pony's" - they are specifically trained to interact to the commands of the rider with the terrain and people.
Horses used for the mounted officers also have to complete specialized training. Most times, the horses used in police departments are either draft horses or quarter horses, due to their calm demeanor and stout build. Their extensive training prepares them for any situation they might encounter while on patrol. Desensitization to a wide variety of sights and sounds is necessary, as these horses will find themselves in many unpredictable and vulnerable situations, much different than the average horse would ever have to face. They expose them to crowded quarters, smoke, flares, gun shots, mock riots, and many other disturbances. They have to walk on bridges, teeter-totters, tarps, and other unfamiliar surfaces. By the end of the horses training, they are expected to be able to approach any situation with confidence while staying completely calm.
Can't do that with cow ponies.
They are all using split reins which is fine. Twirling to control a horse is just BS.

As far as I know, almost all of the CBP horses are now wild Mustangs trained by the Colorado
Correctional Industries in conjunction with BLM.
The inmate training program is non specific.
Ironically, the Work Horse Inmate Program is called "WHIP".
Probably can't do that with CBP Mustangs either...

Clearly Biden is not being handled as some think. If he were 'handled' one would expect news to be vetted before issuing an official presidential opinion and especially a presidential threat.
You are giving this administration far too much credit. His handlers are woke morons themselves. Biden was just following the rest of the Democrats and the leftist media (guess their handlers weren't paying attention either). They all lashed out- so he jumped on the band wagon.
The border patrol agents should sue Biden, every last Democrat that opened their asinine mouths, and the media that called them racists and harkening "the days of slavery", for slander and libel.
Seems they forgot about Sandmann and his libel cases against the media. They all need to be taught a very expensive lesson again.
Their union should do exactly that! Biden would likely fire border patrol agents who personally sued him as his regime.
I won’t chime in on his handling because as far as I know, that’s just the usual political slander. Nevertheless, this incident doesn’t invalidate the accusation even if it is happening.
The reason is because the kind of hysteria we saw this week from Biden, his press secretary, and several other Democrats is exactly what a savvy progressive does these days. i.e.: declare your offense and horror at whatever has happened and do it as loudly and as quickly as possible.
That is to say, no one in the party looks at his reaction and sees a problem. His handlers - if they exist - would not stop him from reacting the way he did. On the contrary, they would advise him to do precisely what we saw and heard.
One would expect his handlers to help Biden avoid an 'egg-on-face' result.
It is political incompetence to have Biden be publicly wrong.
I believe that the progressives who do handle this man did intend to make that particular Presidential threat through him.

I hate how these politicians are so intent on appearing to be woke - or whatever word we’re using these days - that they rush to condemn someone before they know the facts. It’s all so they can be seen to be righteously outraged in time for the 6 o’clock news.
A lot of times, the job of law enforcement (or border enforcement) can look harsh to the untrained observer who is working with minimal information and no training. Politicians should appreciate that they may be ignorant and exercise an appropriate level of humility and restraint.
Unfortunately, they often lack the courage because silence or hesitancy to judge is seen as political weakness. Their opponents will happily accuse them of endorsing cruelty. You’d think they would have learned from all the bogus hysteria about locking people up in cages.
The PC Wokeism of Biden and Psaki on this issue is truly pathetic and brain dead on this issue.
