True. However, if one truly listens with their heart, that one No can easily be seen as the lie that it is. If one looks closely into the other person's as they speak, the eyes will always give them away, as their eyes never lie, even if their mouth does.
Here's one of my favorite photos of my dog Tucker taken a couple of years ago. We just got the news two days ago that he has lymphoma and because of his age and other health issues we've decided not to put him through chemo treatments. We will give him prednisone and take things week by week. When it's time we can arrange for our veterinarian to come out to the house and put him to sleep for the last time.
I was through that with a Springer Spaniel many years ago and swore I'd never have another; but, putting things in perspective, any person or thing we come to love can be taken from us, and, the only way to prevent the pain of such loss is to be sure not to love! NOT A WORTHWHILE TRADEOFF.
We rescued a dog several years ago … in her own ways, she is as much a part of the family as any of us.
Our first dog, a staffordshire terrier, was also diagnosed with lymphoma. We treated her twice until her heart gave out the day before her 6th birthday. She was the best dog I've ever had.
I'm very sad about losing my buddy, I try to concentrate on the wonderful 13 years we've had with him.
I'm sure we will end up with another dog or, perhaps, a cat someday. We'll have to be more judicious in our adoption as we are less active than we used to be and a rambunctious puppy may not be well suited in our household.
I think it is the right thing to let them stay at home. I did that with my last cat and dog.
It was hard watching it yet I know they were happier at home. My dog (Sam) died peacefully during the night. The cat (Bosco) I really felt bad for. He lived to be 18. Sadly one night I went to bed and I guess he made it to the litter box one last time. Found him in the morning hanging halfway out.
I let myself get a laugh out of that every once in a while. The cat was a character.
I had a dream one night. That I had died and found myself standing in a field, my past dogs all standing there looking at me. Then they all got behind me and I realized they will always be there, protect me/stand with me, with whatever lies ahead.
The little dog I have now was from our Humane society. One year a meth house was raided and they found about 40 dogs and puppies. Ended up with one of the pups.
So very sorry to hear bout Tucker's ailment, EG. He looks like a real sweetheart. While his days may be few now, they are sure to be filled with much love and care.
We had to put our Annie to sleep because of mass cell tumors (cancer) last year. We put her on prednisone and when the time came the vet came to the house.
I believe having the vet come to the house is the best thing that you can do for Tucker. There will be no stress on Tucker, he'll be in his home that is familiar to him in his own bed and surrounded by a loving family.
it is also one of the most beautiful of your creations.
Thank you for your very kind words. At times I thought I would just give up, as the blending of the background and primary subject were not working well together.
But, giving up is not one of my characteristics, so I just let my heart and Spirit guide me. It turned out much better than I ever hoped for.
This morning I was testing out the used 100mm lens I just got. This is my smallest fish - an albino glowlight tetra I call Blinky. I'll be trying to get more photos with the lens after work and tomorrow. Perhaps I'll try some video too.
Thank you Mac. As I look back at some of my first creations, it is surprising to me the amount of growth I have gone through over the years and the differences in the artwork from them until now. Those in the Anishinaabe Group have seen that growth first hand, as I have shared each one of my creations from the beginning with them over the years, and they have been my supporters, and their support has encouraged me to keep pushing myself more and more and try now techniques to reach for a higher level of quality. My intention in my artwork is to tell the story of the customs and traditions of the various Tribes in how I see them.
Now sharing my artwork with the folks here in this group, and their acceptance and appreciation, brings joy to my heart. Thank you all.
I'm really glad we made it perfectly clear that the Creative Arts group was not to be limited to photography alone, and that I pushed you to post your wonderful creations here.
and that I pushed you to post your wonderful creations here.
Indeed Buzz. I enjoyed looking at all the beautiful artwork that was being posted here at the time, but, did not think that my kind of artwork would fit in with the type of art that was being posted at that time, so I hesitated. I was skeptical that others would feel they were out of place. And it did take some pushing from you to convince me that my Native American creations would be something that would fit in here.
I truly appreciate your sincere and persistent encouragement for me to post my work here, and am grateful that Mac allowed me to post it as well.
I create from the heart and with the guidance of the Spirit Guide, which is the Wolf. And am so truly happy that others enjoy it. That is all that matters to me.
I was hoping that Kavika would be my 'test eyes' with my first one with the Wolf as the primary subject. His approval of my version of Native American art and helpful comment gave me the encouragement to push harder and broaden my range. For me, my creations are a work of love and enjoyment, and I am so happy to share it my many Friends here on NT.
I have enjoyed your artwork from the very first one that you did and I saw.
The longer I look at each of our creations I tend to see more and more. At times it's the artwork and other times it's the artwork and the image that it conjures up in my mind.
Thank you very much Kavika, your words of appreciation and encouragement mean a lot, and make my work worthwhile.
What you see in each one is what I am hoping, and striving, for with each one. They each have a story to tell, and I can only hope that I am able to create an image that will do each story justice.
While each Tribe is similar, they are also each one different. Each Tribe has a rich history, and while their customs and traditions may vary from the others, we are all children of the same Mother.
In this, we are one. And in some way, that is the story that I hope to convey in my artwork.
Thank you so much, Iggy. Both my Father and Brother were the Blessed natural artists in our family, what was so naturally easy for them to do was something I could never achieve. I have a hard time drawing a straight line with a ruler by freehand. However, I discovered I am able to put my artists ideas together using the computer.
I guess I might say that my artistic abilities are in my heart, head and eyes, and the computer helps me express what I can't on paper or canvas by hand.
For me it is a work of love and a source of true enjoyment, and sharing them here with my NT "Family," and seeing their enjoyment of them, makes my many hours, if not days, of hard work so very worthwhile.
I will be sharing more of my work here in this group each week along with the others here who also share their amazing artwork, and hope you will continue to enjoy them. (smile)
I'm in no way, an Artist, so my critique be placed where it should, but
to me,
your expression via either painting or photography,
looks vastly barren when red from my eyes, so hang on Snoopy, Snoopy hang on.

You hit it at the perfect time PJ. The black flies and mosquitoes are gone and it's not yet winter; not quite anyway. A place with similar timing is the southern coast of Lake Superior in August or September. Of course, you saw up above what KD found up there not long ago. The "Gales of November" are a bit early this year.
I have faith that there will be any number of creative posts herein … images, poetry, thoughts and comments.
Awesome artwork, Mac. And the words of wisdom are truly meaningful.
It is always helpful when there is such a place as this to feel creative Mac.
Your main photo above, and the treatment of it, exceeds those expectations.
That is absolutely beautiful Mac! We are fishing fools too and love fish artwork. I'd love a print of this on my wall.
Hope this finds all things still improving with Mrs. Mac!
Well, it looks like you set a very good example to start with here, Amac. We definitely have some very talented people on this site.
Very true indeed. It takes many more words to tell a lie than to speak the truth.
But a lie could be spoken with just one 2-letter word: "no".
True. However, if one truly listens with their heart, that one No can easily be seen as the lie that it is. If one looks closely into the other person's as they speak, the eyes will always give them away, as their eyes never lie, even if their mouth does.
From a very wise man.
You are right about that.
Too many peoples lives revolve around Stressing and Complaining.
If those were eliminated, they wouldn't know what to do with themselves.
Reminds me of a Frank Sinatra Song:
"That's Life"
"I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball …… And DIE !"
Ah, maybe that's where the famous American philosopher from Pogo's Okefenokee Swamp, Churchy La Femme, got the idea:

I am sorry, loosing a pet is extremely difficult.
Thank you.
My dawg … Gracie waking in the morning. Rescued by us several years ago.
She is indeed an adorable little girl. Her little face warms me heart.
Very sweet face. I had a dog named Gracie too. Named her after Grace Slick. She was sweet also.
What a cutie
She is a really beautiful dog. And lucky that you were the one who rescued her.
Now that is sleeping in style!!!

Adopt a senior dog at a shelter. There are so many just longing for a good home that will be a great companion, EG.
Sorry to hear that EG. He is beautiful.
I think it is the right thing to let them stay at home. I did that with my last cat and dog.

Indeed they will Ender..
condolences from me and dogs Bo and Bailey

So sad. Having to go through that twice in my life was enough for me.
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
I hope those here will enjoy this week's creation.
Absolutely, Raven Wing.
Thank you Dave.
Wonderful RW.
Thank you Kavika. This is one of the most difficult pieces of artwork I have yet created.
Difficult, I'm sure it was but it is also one of the most beautiful of your creations.
Thank you for your very kind words. At times I thought I would just give up, as the blending of the background and primary subject were not working well together.
But, giving up is not one of my characteristics, so I just let my heart and Spirit guide me. It turned out much better than I ever hoped for.
Beautiful image, RW. It reminded me of …
By the shores of Gitche Gumee,
By the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood the wigwam of Nokomis,
Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis.
That's really interesting. Longfellow was referring to Lake Superior.
Was just up there at the Two Hearted river a few weeks ago. They had 18 foot plus waves Wednesday.
Not my picture....
Thank you Mac. I had not thought of that song, but, it does seem to fit.
18 foot plus waves? The reason for the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
That's typical in fall and winter, 30 plus foot have been recorded.
Thank you for posting that, sixpick!
STILL Ethereal.
Thank you Buzz. I am very glad that you like it. (smile)
Soon it will be Hallowe'en...
"If I was a bird I'd fly away, spread my wings so I'd escape ..."
"But teach a man to fish...."
Ain't nobody here but us chickens.
I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.
But it’s up to me
to use it.
I must suffer if I lose it.
Give account if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute,
but eternity is in it.
Very true and insightful.
That's a really good little poem - who wrote it? Was it you?
That came from Elijah Cummings as far as I know.
This morning I was testing out the used 100mm lens I just got. This is my smallest fish - an albino glowlight tetra I call Blinky. I'll be trying to get more photos with the lens after work and tomorrow. Perhaps I'll try some video too.
Very good picture, EG. The colors are well defined. Looking forward to seeing more pics with the new lens.
Blinky, I love it.
Here is another of my creations to share this week.
Keep 'em comin', RW!

From the beginning....my first creation, starting out working with wood burls.
I'm really glad we made it perfectly clear that the Creative Arts group was not to be limited to photography alone, and that I pushed you to post your wonderful creations here.
I'll bet Kavika really likes the wolf one.

i'm also impressed Raven
nicely done.

I've no artistic ability at all.
i have difficulty drawing stick figures, can't read my own written lists, and my printing looks like it's been cursived.
Look forward to more of your creations

Thanks.......I think. (grin). The pictures are a representation of where I’m currently visiting. They don’t do justice to the real thing.
Where might that be ?
I enjoy places like this.
Alaska
Excellent.
I'm envious

Beautiful pictures PJ. Thank you sharing them.
The clouds in the second photo are truly magnificent, and the the leading lines of the third photo absolutely PULL you into the distance.
