Did a bunch of research on boat ladders. It's folding, and the length you see actually folds down to go below the hull bottom so it's easier to step on the ladder to get back in. The steps are 3 1/2" wide and come with 5/16" thick rubber pads on top.
Thanks Buzz. There are many Sacred and Spiritual birds among the many different Tribes. Some are Birth Totems and some Spirit Guides. Others are Sacred Tribal symbols among some Tribes. They are all gathered together to honor the different Tribes.
As I started out using various types of wood burls for the backgrounds on many on my early creations, You will likely see many of them now and then.
oooh......those are beautiful photos. Those piercing eyes and stealthy approach is clearly a warning to mind your own business. And the last one leaves no doubt that it means business.
Beautiful wolves indeed. Thank you for sharing them Kavika.
Same here. I would really fear seeing those piercing eyes looking at me in the dark. But, against the dark black fur of the wolf they really are beautiful. I could be accused of being a bit biased, as the wolf is my Spirit Guide, and my Father's Cherokee Clan is the Wolf Clan. (smile)
I have seen may different types of wolves, but, never have seen a black one before in person. However, like you, I am not afraid of the wolves. They are truly very understandable creatures. The normally will not attack humans unless provoked, threatened, or protecting their family. Or....perhaps in a state of starvation, which is understandable of any wild creature.
I really like photo #3, the colors and the butterfly shape in the wall is beautiful. And like Kavika, I love the duck photos...they are so pretty and cute.
I had ducks and geese of my own for many years, and were really smart. They followed me around the back yard as I dug in the flower beds and searched for the worms and such that I dug up here and there. Then they'd splash around in the puddles as I watered the flowers.
Yes I did, and I loved it!. Humans teaching geese to migrate to their winter home. I have to wonder how many people would be willing to do that these days.
When you said the geese and ducks followed you around your back yard you made me think about that movie where they followed Anna Paquin around because they considered her their mother.
True, they will consider you their Mother, no matter what your gender, if you are the first thing they see when they hatch. Same with chickens, but, not to such a level as the ducks and geese. Most of all the animals we ever had, and we had a wide variety of them, were our pets. We gave them names and they learned their names. I think maybe it was more the sound than the actual name they recognized. but, they would come when I called their name. They would do my Mother the same way. We both just had a kinship with animals.
A very beautiful hummer Mac. I had one with red throat, and one with a blue throat in the group of hummers that hung around my feeders. Just beautiful little critters.
Thank you very much Mac. I truly appreciate your comments on my work. Although I have been at this for a few years now, I am still rather a novice at the technique of blending images and making all aspects of the creation work together.
Your comments let me know if I am on the right path and stay focused. Thank you for taking the time to help guide me. (smile)
I like the fact that the backgound is made up of Birch trees, because the Birch trees were useful for many reasons, one ot the most important being using the bark to build canoes.
They are an important part of everyday life for the Ojibway. They were also used for pails that are waterproof and to build a shelter among many other uses. Some years back I made a lamp in the shape of a turtle and used birchbark for the lampshade and also made a small model canoe out of birch bark. (photo below)
The skill to take pieces of bark without killing the tree is important. We never cut a birch tree down to take the bark off it. We will cut down a tree that is diseased or dying or will use one that is fallen already.
I used red willow, basswood and birch bark to make the lamp.
I saw no problem with the original photo you put up. The second photo of this new posting shows the lamp's turtle base much better than the first one, because of the angle.
Beautiful workmanship, and the lamp looks like it is growing out from the top of a turtle shell. That canoe looks like it is 'water ready' and set to go.
but they sure do us a favour by eating another winged scourge - mosquitoes.
They are sure my friends......I am highly allergic to the saliva and the chemical they inject into their bite to keep the blood from coagulating while they feed. I have would up in the ICU several times from mosquito bites, especially when when there are more than one.
Once again, quite adeptly, you have used subtly configured leading lines to bring the viewer's eye to the subject! The dove perched lightly but definitively on a single finger pointing back to the subject sends the dove's attribute as the symbol of "peace" to the maiden.
What my minds eye saw was the prominence of the subject, which is as it should be. The ruggedness of the background around the subtly of the subject gave a contrasting effect to the image.
Also, I like the way the elegance and delicacy of the Dove brings a sense of peaceful harmony to the overall image.
I think this might be something along the lines of what you are talking about. However, you explain it so much better than I can. (smile)
Your reviews of my artwork helps to open doors to ideas I had not thought about, and helps me grow.
You are invited to "wing it" too … whatever you care to share … images, philosophy, commentary …
Beautiful array of 'fliers' Mac. The butterflies are really impressive.
Is that a Bluejay? Beautiful.
It's a White-breasted Nuthatch.
Love the post-work done to the jay. He almost looks like a painting.
more little peepers this week - a pair of purple finches.
That's are really lovely red colored bird. Not sure I have ever seen one line that before. What kind of bird is it?
House Finches, female is too shot, make below; way to get the pair, EG!
Art times 3:
Oh.....and I'm closer now than I was before. Just a few more items left to clean, paint and install !
Need to Clean interior and install flooring.
Dark Blue Hull Rear. Need to install outboard.
Hull to Paint dark blue.
The back ladder on the boat looks better than a lot I have seen and used. The one on my BIL's boat hurts your feet using it.

The Sand artist in the vid is great.
Things like this...... MOVE me !
Bet you are looking forward to getting her into the water!
A collection of our many winged Spirit Guides.......
I'll put that among my favorites, RW!
Thank you so much, Mac. I am very glad that you like it. (smile)
That's quite a collection of birds, and my favoured burled wood frame to boot.
Thanks Buzz. There are many Sacred and Spiritual birds among the many different Tribes. Some are Birth Totems and some Spirit Guides. Others are Sacred Tribal symbols among some Tribes. They are all gathered together to honor the different Tribes.

Awesome
Thank you Pat.
These photos of a black wolf were taken by Conrad Tan in NE Minnesota.
oooh......those are beautiful photos. Those piercing eyes and stealthy approach is clearly a warning to mind your own business. And the last one leaves no doubt that it means business.
Beautiful wolves indeed. Thank you for sharing them Kavika.
I just discovered the photographer, Conrad Tan. He has some really stunning photos. These are some of the best I've ever seen of a wolf.
Same here. I would really fear seeing those piercing eyes looking at me in the dark. But, against the dark black fur of the wolf they really are beautiful. I could be accused of being a bit biased, as the wolf is my Spirit Guide, and my Father's Cherokee Clan is the Wolf Clan. (smile)
Scary as hell. Taken with a long telephoto lens, I'll bet.
Beautiful creature.
Not scary to me Buzz, but I was raised with/by wolves.
Where the photos were taken is where I grew up so we would see wolves on a regular basis.
I have seen may different types of wolves, but, never have seen a black one before in person. However, like you, I am not afraid of the wolves. They are truly very understandable creatures. Winging it locally....

I love the duck photos
Thanks Kavika.

Thanks, RW. Did you ever watch the movie "Fly Away Home"?
Yes I did, and I loved it!. Humans teaching geese to migrate to their winter home. I have to wonder how many people would be willing to do that these days.

Let's keep it goin'!

Taking a bit of a rest.....
Perfect use of the Egrets in the lower left as "leading lines" to the subject! Great skill & artistry, RW!

They're beautiful - you have many talents.
What in the world happened to my photo. All I see is a hat on top of books...Well, here it is again.
I saw no problem with the original photo you put up. The second photo of this new posting shows the lamp's turtle base much better than the first one, because of the angle.

Wow, what an amazing catch! Mid-flight even. This week has produced so much talent. I am out of adjectives, LOL.
Red-breasted Nuthatch
EG,
I love everything about this photo. You even got one of my favorite little birdies.
All these Nuthatches make me feel right at home as I am a blonde headed nut.
Though I didn't hatch.
Or did I...
Not all winged creatures are beautiful. Like take the flying cockroaches we have down here.
(Shudder)
Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I don't think of bats as being beautiful, but they sure do us a favour by eating another winged scourge - mosquitoes.

Sorry about all the Vids, but Musical ART by Folks you don't hear about, is one of my favorite things to find !
Some touch me more than others.
13 Years Old !
I saw this online and thought it was adorable. A squirrel hoarding nuts. Lol

It's still FRIDAY … and no reason we can't take it into Saturday!

I admire the sharpness and clarity of your photos.
As you suggest, lets keep the birds going:
A strange bird:
A painted bird:

The Byrds:
What an amazing shot. Just perfect!
Well...here it is Saturday....and we are still going strong! Here's another just for fun. It's a shawl dancer.
Beautiful - there are never too many.
Thank you Buzz.
You are so talented, Raven. Love her!
Thank you so much, Perrie. Shawl Dancers are some of my favorite dancers.
Out for a walk, my wife and I … in Donald Trump's America!
Love the photo. Hi Mrs. Mac.
Great to see Mrs Mac out and about with you. (smile)
LOL. A selfie!!! First photo I've seen of the Mrs., and we can't see much of her.
Glad to see both are doing good. Stay healthy and happy
Lookin Good there A.Mac!
Speaking of birds this is another photo by Conrad Tan. An Owl in MN snow.
What a great photo! Thanks for sharing it. Love the coloring.
Keeping the birds on the go....
Once again, quite adeptly, you have used subtly configured leading lines to bring the viewer's eye to the subject! The dove perched lightly but definitively on a single finger pointing back to the subject sends the dove's attribute as the symbol of "peace" to the maiden.
Just exceptional in every way, RW!
Thank you so much, Mac.

Mal and Maya say Hi to old friends at NewsTalkers....
Hey there! So glad to see you back again. You have been sorely missed! Hope to see lots more of you here.
Hey, Steve, Great to see you!
Oops... I didn't realize... until just now that this article is supposed to be for "winged" creatures...
The Albatross glares at Mal... Well, I suppose we can let it go... THIS TIME... but don't do it again !!!
Talk about giving the evil eye. Haha
Wow! That is a great photo. That bird looks like it does not like being photographed while bathing.
Superb photo - have not seen you around for a long time.
