MOVIES ABOUT CHINA & CHINESE QUIZ
MOVIES ABOUT CHINA & CHINESE QUIZ
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE QUIZ FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST THEM IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE , READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. IT IS ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM THE LAST QUIZ.
Don't worry, everything will be in English and as before you didn't have to see the movies because all the answers are either obvious from the clues or they can be found on the linked IMDb movie list below this paragraph. As usual, besides the two image clues, the third clue is and it is REQUIRED that the movie MUST be a movie listed on the first page of 100 movies on the linked IMDb movie list following this paragraph. Although the list has 124 movies, the movies on the quiz were chosen from only the first page, i.e. the first 100 movies. I have seen only one of the movies on this quiz that I can remember and I doubt that anyone has seen more than a few, so, as always, some of the movies can be identified from just the images that often just spell out the title, and some may require you to do some studying of the linked IMDb movie list to find the answers. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your knowledge of movies, web searching using web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating.
Movies About China & Chinese (IMDb) LINK -> https://www.imdb.com/list/ls008948644/
IMPORTANT : Although the list contains 124 movies, the movies chosen for the quiz are from the movies on the first page only, i.e. the first 100 movies.
Note that I never use the same movie more than once in the same quiz, and usually the order of the clues is important
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The" but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my quizzes, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the images does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the first 100 movies on the IMDb list linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer. In previous quizzes I did accept alternatives for the questions. Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
More than once a situation came up on previous quizzes where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant opened although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers. Be careful to use ONLY the list linked above, because there may be other similar lists that will not have the same movies on them.
SPECIAL HINT FOR THOSE WHO BOTHER TO READ WHAT'S ABOVE
Although some of the movies can be identified by just one of the clues, some of the clues can apply to the wrong movie, so it is IMPORTANT to take BOTH clues into consideration.
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

Why would I, of all people, ever come up with the idea of a quiz about China and Chinese? Okay, that's not a question that can score you a point. Don't worry about language - everything is in English. I doubt that anyone has seen more than a few of the movies on this quiz, even I've seen only one that I can remember. So let's see how you can do on this quiz, but remember as always....
You will have a week to do this quiz, which will be closed on Friday, December 8th at around 10 p.m. New York City time. But please don't wait for the last minute to send me your answers.
This will take some thinking
Not as much as you think.
Submitted.
Another fun challenge. Thanks, Buzz.
Received and scored. Thank you.
looks like fun, should be interesting.
Of course it's fun - more of a game than a challenge. Most of the members here don't realize that they don't have to even see the movies to get a perfect score.
Uh oh ... this one is gonna be tough for me ... but paper numbered and I'm ready to go!
Thanks, Buzz!
I take that back. It's not very difficult!
It was just the title that might scare someone - but it's as easy as the last one, if not easier.
LOL. Told you so.
And Submitted
Received and scored, thanks.
Sunday morning bump on a fun little quiz. Come on in people..
I think people are afraid to play because they think they have to have seen a lot of movies or remember what was in the movies they've seen so they don't realize that to do these quizzes it isn't really a quiz, it's just a game allowing them to have a little fun and distraction from the usual news because they don't need to see any of the movies on the quiz to get a perfect score.
And it's a very fun game. I've only seen less than a quarter of the movies on that list and I was able to complete the quiz. I think more people would rather argue about stupid shit in politics and sound like that old beer commercial (Tastes Great / Less Filling) than have a little fun.
Oh yeah, and a Monday morning bump.
I've seen only one this time. Yes, it's a fun game; to me, they all are!
It's fun for those who WANT to have fun. But unfortunately.....
But not fun for those who refuse to follow the rules. Can anyone tell me of a quiz or a game where there are NO rules?
All quizzes and games have rules; however, some people apparently believe that they are exempt from following them, because they're allowed to break those rules.
I see a little intrigue here - if you're thinking of someone don't post it here but you know where to find me.
Submitted with a Sunday bump!
Received and scored, thanks.
Looks like we need another bump!
Happy Monday, all!
Tuesday for me, and 15 years to the day.....
Happy Anniversary and many more, Buzz and Mrs. Buzz! Beautiful photo!
Fen and I thank you.
Happy Anniversary Sir, and many more.
Thank you George.
Happy Anniversary you two!!! You two look great!
And a Tuesday morning bump as well. A 2 for 1 deal...
Thank you Snuffy. We both looked great 15 years ago. At least my wife still does. LOL. And as for the 2 for 1, a bargain is always welcome.
Still plenty of time for everybody to try the best little quiz in the West... come on in, the questions are fun..
...and they're EASY. And as the delicatessen waitress would tell you when you look at a piece of kishka, "Try it, you'll like it."
Still a couple of days to do it.
At this time, which I believe is 4:30 a.m. Thursday Dec 7 in New York, this quiz has been wiped off the Front (Home) Page with only 5 having participated.
After six hours, it's again off the Front Page. Thursday morning bump
Understandable these days, which is why it requires a little extra effort to keep it visible. Thanks for helping.
Thursday, Dec. 7 - When I logged on around noon, we were #1. We're now off the Front Page. Maybe this bump will help!
I'm sure it did. Thank you.
Just submitted with a guess or two.
And another bump.
Received and scored. Thanks for that and the bump.
Working on it again, just a few more to figure out
To help me I am eating Chinese take out
Yep, matching your meals to the quiz should help. Thanks for my first laugh out loud of the day.
It helped cause I am finished and full. Sent them In
Received with thanks and scored.
You can do it!
Ha ha ... Just saw your comment and it gave me a hankering for Chinese food ... which I'm sure isn't as good or original as what Buzz has!
My last bummmmmp for this quiz!
Greatly enjoyed, Buzz ... thank you!
Might end up getting Chinese tonight, the buffet is about $12 and it's all you can eat and what you want, not like other take out anymore which consist of a burger, fries, and a soda and costs almost the same.
Another bump and I'm outa here until Monday, just finished building a machine and need to try it out before it gets to dark.
We're having Chinese tonight, too, bccrane. Enjoy yours!
Since I was a toddler, when we went out for Chinese on Sundays, and after that at least once or twice a week until I came here. Now I eat what was always a special meal EVERY DAY. LOL
Thank YOU for playing.
A new quiz will be posted for your Monday - actor and actress combo movie quiz.
Did I start a food revolution there?
I've always loved Chinese food! When I was growing up, we had what we thought was an "original Chinese" restaurant that we went to on special occasions. One of the menu's items I remember was bird's nest soup. There were other Chinese restaurants we regularly went to, but their menus weren't as intriguing as the special one!
Actually I've never had bird's nest soup, unless I did but didn't know what it was.
One more day - i.e. 24 hours more to go until closing time. Only 7 have participated, could be a case of Chinaphobia (something for sure I don't suffer from) but don't worry, next quiz will be back to the movies of an actor and an actress. I've already prepared it and will only need to assemble the parts and post it.
Friday morning and we're #1 on the Front Page...
4 hours to go and we're right on top.
This quiz is now closed. Only seven members participated so hopefully it wasn't because others were suffering from Chinaphobia, brought on by the political stance of certain governments. Tied for first place with perfect 20 scores, in order of submitting answers, are Dig, Snuffy and Jasper2529 . The rest of the participants all got scores of 19, sharing second place, and they include Vic Eldred, Kathleen, bccrane and charger 383 . Everyone is way up in the Winners' Circle and I congratulate all of you and thank you for playing.
Now, the answers for those too timid to have the same fun those above enjoy, here are the answers:

Thanks for the fun quiz Buzz.
Congrats everyone who took part, well done everybody!!
Every one who plays this game of a quiz has fun. But I don't feel sorry for the members whose idea of fun is insulting or one-upping other members on this site.
Congratulations to everyone who participated!
They, and you as well, all deserve congratulations and a thank you for having fun.
