CHICK FLICKS GAME
CHICK FLICKS GAME
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THIS GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAME.
For the answer to be correct, it is REQUIRED that it MUST be a movie on the linked IMDb Top 100 Chick Flicks movie list of movies located just below this paragraph. The visual clues represent words, scenarios or images that may be relevant to the movie title or words relevant to the movie title that can be found in the mini-synopsis of the movie on the linked IMDb list. That means you will not have had to see the movie or know the story to identify the movie from the clues, which is why this is a game more like a treasure hunt than a quiz. I have seen only 4 of the movies on this game that I can remember, and it's possible a few may have already been used in previous quizzes, wherein I may have used the same or similar clues for one or two of them as I had before. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your ability to find the answers, web searching using google or web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating. The real fun of the game is using the visual clues and mini-synopses required to identify the movies, so IMO if you cheat you are the biggest loser even if you're able to fool the rest of us.

In this case THERE ARE a number of Chick Flick lists with THE SAME or similar names but with different movies, so IT IS NECESSARY to use ONLY the one that is linked above.
Note that I (almost) never use the same movie more than once in the same game. I said "almost" because I mistakenly actually DID use the same movie twice in the Pirate Movie Game, but caught it and replaced one of them when I got the first submission.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my games, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the image does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. I can't believe how many times players do not bother and then lose score. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb lists linked above , I will accept that alternative as a good answer. Previously I did accept alternative movies for the questions.
Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
A few who played the games when they were quizzes previously had quit because of the rules. But I wish to ask if there is a game that does NOT have rules that must be followed?
A few times now a situation came up previously where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant got when they opened that same movie name although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

This game is pretty well the same as the one I just closed, save for the topic. However, make sure you use only the linked list because there are others with the same name that have different movies. Chick flicks are not my style, although I have watched 4 of the movies in this game. I tried to be a little more careful this time about using clues that would apply to only one movie, but I'm not perfect. However, you WILL find that at least a couple of the questions are going to be a little tricky. So please give this one a try, but remember as always...
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This game will be open for a week and will close at about 10 p.m. New York time on Wednesday July 3rd, just before the Independence Day holiday.
Come on all you chick flick movie fans
YEAH!!! Show your stuff, fans.
All righty.. wonder how sexist my answers can be? hehe!
It's better to be sexy than to be sexist.
I cannot access the IMDB list. It posted that it was private.
OMG. You're right. I had no problem with it before and now it won't open saying it is private. I'm afraid this game is toast. I will see if my choices are all available on another list but if not I will have to terminate this game.
THIS GAME IS CANCELLED DUE TO THE FACT THAT IMDb HAS CLOSED THE LIST. I WILL TRY TO PUT TOGETHER A NEW ONE WITH A DIFFERENT LIST THAT WILL HAVE SOME OF THE SAME MOVIES.
Make that Lemonade.
I can't believe IMDb did that.
They don't know about our movie quiz?
It's possible that they do, every article we post shows up on the world wide web. But if it were not for the timing of blocking the list I linked making it "private" (whatever that means) I would have no suspicion of it having been caused by me. I've reviewed hundreds of IMDb lists and have never seen such a thing before. But even if it WERE caused by me why should it be blocked? I contravened no laws or rules or copyright because I did not copy and repost the IMDb list, all I did was post a link to it, and that cannot possibly be an offence. Isn't the whole reason for posting a list on the internet so people would see and read it? What have I done other than cause even MORE people to see and read it? It defies any kind of logic that it should be made "private" in order to prevent more people from seeing it. I will soon be trying to post a new game using a different list, and if nothing happens to it I will assume what happened here was just a coincidental anomoly or a show of ignorance on the part of the person who created the list in the first place.
No one nose what eagles lurk in the mines of men!
RATS! Great big rats with tails a foot long!
IMO not just rats, but IGNORANT rats.
You are referring, of course, to some of our politicians.
No, actually not this tme, but what IS interesting is that the author at IMDb who blocked the list she drew up and called in PRIVATE has opened it to the public again.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PLAYERS
The game has now been amended with a new list and new images. I am extending the closing to to Monday July 8 at around 10 p.m. New York time. In case IMDb has intentionally been deleting its lists to frustrate the playing of this game it would be a good idea to hurry up with your answers, and if they DO delete this llst it may be the end of this type of game.
Completed & sent
Received and scored, with thanks.
And submitted. Fun but not as confident as the last game.
Received and scored, with my thanks.,
Getting ready to play.
Getting ready to score your answers.
Answered & Submitted
Received and scored. Thank you.
Done!
Received and scored, thank you.
Have one I can't figure out. I'll Keep thinking
You have 8 more days to think about it, so there's no reason to panic.
Submitted.
Received and scored, thanks.
At this point 5 members have played and the game has already been wiped off the Front (Home) Page. I am providing a whole week more for more players but I wonder if due to the mountain of political issues there will be any more action on something so mundane as a game that is played for fun, cause hey, who wants to have fun around here as long as the political competition is in play?
Get your heinie back on the front page and let others have some fun too!
Play the game and have some fun!!!
Thanks for the bump, Snuffy.
You beat me to it. So it took 37 minutes for me to finish my list, which wouldn't be too bad, but it was on four of them I was stuck on, LOL.
Wow. That is fast. Maybe I need to make it a little more challenging.
Ah, maybe I had better clarify, I had the list mostly complete less four more to go, and it took me that long to figure the final four.
A bump up and wait for it........
I didn't have to wait long.
Could be that since the last list was taken down, all who submitted did so quickly and then moved on on the chance that this list would be also taken down.
And yes a bump up. I will be submitting shortly.
Lots of time left to play. Looking forward to your answers, and thanks for the bump.
Not to worry-- we're working on fixing that.
LOL
Movie game, movie game, wherefore art thou, movie game?
Marco!
Polo?
LOL.. yeppers. Just trying to help find that movie game.
Thanks for making it visible again.
Submitted.
Would've sent them in on Monday, but had to come in to work for a little while to wait for an important package that may show up today.
Just got missed by a supercell storm to the north of us, but alas more are on the way.
And how about that, the package just showed up while I was typing in the last post, now I can get outa here until Monday.
Enjoy the weekend.
Received and scored, thank you.
Still trying to figure one out
Still 3 days left.
Two days left to play!!
"Two days left to play!!"
One should not delay.
You're a poet
And you don't know it!
No, that's not true,
I've wrtten a few.
This game is closing tomorrow evening, so don't hold back too long. I already have the contents ready to construct the next game. In honour of Eva Marie Saint's 100th birthday it will be a combo of her movies (Eva only did 51) with the movies of Robert Redford.
Sent them in
Received and scored, thanks.
"Now we are seven." (Chris, played by Yul Brynner in The Magnificent Seven). I was hoping for more having posted a quiz with two weeks to play. I may as well start purging my notifications list of those who do not want to experience the fun of the game, or don't help in any way with votes and comments. But if you look at the bottom of the page you will see how many "visitors" there are, persons who are not members of NT and are unable to post anything but can see our articles and comments and can play the games on their own and check the answers when I post them as I will do below. That, at least, enables me to make the effort of creating the games worth while.
Everyone who played was in the Winners' Circle. Perfect 20 scores were achieved by Veronica, Perrie, Dig and bccrane . In second place Snuffy and charger 383 each got scores of 19, and third place goes to Vic Eldred who scored 18 1/2. Congratulations to all and thanks for participating.
For those who may have played from afar, and those who haven't got the balls to play the game, here are the answers with the clues:
A new game is now posted - the movies of Eva Marie Saint & Robert Redford . If you don't see it on the Front (Home) Page, here is a link to it -> Saint & Redford Movie Game - Buzz Of The Orient | The NewsTalkers
