ROBERT DUVALL MOVIE GAME
ROBERT DUVALL MOVIE GAME
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THIS GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAME.
For the answer to be correct, it is REQUIRED that it MUST be a movie on the linked IMDb 93 movie list Robert Duvall Filmography located just below this paragraph. The visual clues represent a word(s}, scenario or image that may be relevant to the movie title or word(s) relevant to the movie title that can be found in the mini-synopsis of the movie on the linked IMDb list. That means you will not have had to see the movies or even know the stories to identify the movies from the clues, which is why this is a game more like a treasure hunt than a quiz. I have seen only about 4 of the movies on this game that I can remember, and it's possible a few may have already been used in previous quizzes or games, wherein I might have used the same or similar clues for one or two of them as I had before. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your ability to find the answers, web searching using google or web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating. The real fun of the game is using the visual clues and mini-synopses required to identify the movies, so IMO if you cheat you are the biggest loser even if you're able to fool the rest of us.
Robert Duvall Filmography (IMDb) LINK-> Robert Duvall Filmography (imdb.com)
There may be lists with the same or similar names but with different movies, so IT IS NECESSARY to use ONLY the one that is linked above.
Note that I (almost) never use the same movie more than once in the same game. I said "almost" because I mistakenly actually DID use the same movie twice in the Pirate Movie Game, but caught it and replaced it when I got the first submission.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my games, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the image does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. I can't believe how many times players do not bother and then lose score. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb lists linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. Previously I did accept alternative movies for the questions.
Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
A few who played the games when they were quizzes previously had quit because of the rules. But I wish to ask if there is a game that does NOT have rules that must be followed?
A few times now a situation came up previously where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant got when they opened that same movie name although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers
Please number your answers the same as the questions.

Posting this ahead of usual for a couple of reasons. First of all, this computer tends to turn itself off and on again now and then, which would have wiped out my creating the game in the middle and I'd have to start over again, so I'm being prudent (careful?) to allow lots of time, and secondly, it can give players a head start today.
Robert Duvall is a pretty popular actor, and his IMDb list is of 93 movies from which to choose. Similar to previous games some of the clues will virtually shout the answers to you, while a few of the questions might be a little trickier. So give this one a try, but remember always:
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This game will be open for one week, but will be closed on Monday evening July 22nd at about 10 p.m. New York Time. I wish that more than the usual players would try to do the game in order for them to discover that a fun distraction from the usual can be a good thing, because it is easy - it isn't necessary to have seen a single movie in your whole life to get a perfect score. It isn't a quiz, it's a game, similar in a way to a treasure hunt.
Looks like fun
It is. Wish more people realized it.
Will get to this in a couple of days but looks like a fun game. Thanks.
Okay, lots of time.
Well shoot, it's Friday already. Guess I better get started on the game.
And you DID start, and you DID finish.
Thanks. It was a fun game, rather easy too. More people should get in on the fun but I guess the slinging of partisan bullshit is too much fun for some folks.
I'm already working on the next one. I'll try to make it a little more challenging. Maybe the multitudes who shun the game think it's boring whereas challenging and insulting those with different political views is what they consider fun.
will you stop trivializing whats going on in america. its not a joke.
your movie game is fine , and leave it at that.
I am fully aware of the political chaos that is happening in America, and IMO I do not see how my comment trivializes it if I am critical of what the members are doing, and since you yourself and/or what you have posted on NT have often enough been made the victim of the comments of others I'm surprised by your comment here.
However, in any event, I appreciate your approval of my movie game and your posting a comment to help keep it on the Front (Home) Page. Should that be your intention, you can also increase your help by voting the game article up, and maybe even PLAY the game now and then.
It appears this game is dead and gone insofar as the Front (Home) Page is concerned, and no players as yet, unless this lament pushes it back onto the page.
LOL. Looks like it worked.
I've decided to stop humiliating myself begging for help to keep this game on the front page. I will have to rely on those to whom I send notifications of its posting. As well, the game has been up for 3 days now and nobody has played yet - I don't remember that ever happening before.
Evening Buzz... don't worry about it..
We are all doomed there is mass hysteria around the world at the moment as there is a Microsoft cloud device outage..
It's hit new Zealand and us first due to the time zones...you will be next..
Airlines, banks, countries are grinding to a halt and the news readers are running around like a bunch of headless chooks..(chickens)..they are just about wetting themselves..
Oh dear Woolies and Coles are only accepting cash as all their card systems are down...next there will be a shortage of dunny rolls (toilet paper)..and everyone can panic again..
Yes let's all go cashless till the systems go down..a hackers delight..
Have a great evening Buzz because I am and I really don't give a flying fig about computer systems at all..🤣🤣
Thank you shona1 - we Commonwealthers have the benefit of watching each other's backs during these stressful times.
And submitted
First one in, received and scored, thanks.
Still thing about one clue
Bet I know which one it is.
Only 2 days left, and only 2 have played. Not looking good, and I've already prepared the bones for the next one ready to put together and post. Maybe that will be a mistake.
Submitted.
Received and scored, thanks to your observance required due to my negligence.
Submitted
Yep, got yours before I indicated only 2 had played, now only three with only a day to go. Thanks for submitting. I think you just got some news that I'm sure will raise your spirits..
Sent them in now, I might be gone a few days
Received and scored, thanks. Now there are four.
Only a few more hours to go for the most disappointing response my quizzes/games have ever had. I did have some problems in sending out the notifications due to the quirks of a new computer, and most are too enticed by politics as established by 25 out of 30 Front (Home) Pages being about politics. If I had not already prepared the next game I would end its entertainment that the players always said was fun to do. But I will make a final decision about that dependent upon the result from the new game I'm posting today, because after all, these are interesting times
A friendly suggestion. Even the best tv series come to an end.
Think of a new movie game. I'm sure you have given it some thought. I think you would find some new interest.
I do have other interests, I administer other groups upon which I post seeds and articles. Of course I'm still much into movies, watch one or two a day that I've never seen before, and sometimes watch again ones that I've always enjoyed watching. I will still post seeds/articles about movies, but it is time-consuming to create a quiz or a game, and although it is still fun for me to prepare one, it obviously isn't fun for most of NT's members to play.
But thank you, JR, for taking the time out of the "interesting times" that you are most involved with to provide some solace and advice for my benefit.
I'm talking about a different type of game Buzz.
Like all good things , things come to an end. Some of the best tv shows of all time lost their ratings and ended.
I'll try, JR, but I can't think of a movie game or quiz other than the one I'm doing now that doesn't require players to have seen the movies, and that itself is pretty limiting, because most people aren't into the movies like I am.
This game is now closed. Only four have played, and unless there will be a substantial increase in participation for the next game that has now been posted, it will be the end of the games/quizzes. All four who played are in the Winners' Circle. Both Snuffy and Dig got all the questions right for perfect scores of 20, while Vic Eldred and charger 383 each achieved scores of 18 sharing second place. I originally did not accept The Scarlet Letter as an alternative answer for number 20, but realized eventually that it was unfair not to. Thanks to the four who played, and congratulations for your success.
As usual, for those who are observing from afar, and those who may be curious about the game, I will post the answers to this one shortly. In the meantime, a new game, Interesting Movies Game, has already been posted - here is a link to it -> Interesting Movies Game - Buzz Of The Orient | The NewsTalkers
Woke up this morning and thought 'did I forget something?'. Sure enough I did. I still had two to figure out and looking at the answers I had already had one wrong and the other two I would've gotten wrong anyways for I was going to put in my best guesses, which I have already found not be of the educated kind.
Even with three wrong you would have been in the Winners' Circle holding third place.

Scarlett is easy to think about.
Can't imagine anyone arguing with that comment.
Sorry I missed this.
