JOHN CUSACK MOVIES GAME
JOHN CUSACK MOVIES GAME
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
Don't forget that I am on the other side of the world (of most of you) and I could be asleep when you send your answers, so be patient - I will get to your PN as soon as I can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, READ WHAT IS BELOW FIRST AND FOLLOW THE RULES IN ORDER TO GET FULL MARKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS. THIS GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE PREVIOUS GAME, NOT A QUIZ.
For the answer to be correct, it is REQUIRED that it MUST be a movie on the linked IMDb movie list John Cusack Movies List (a lst of 61 movies) located just below this paragraph. The visual clues represent a word(s}, scenario or image that may be relevant to the movie title or word(s) relevant to the movie plot or title that can be found in the mini-synopsis of the movie on the linked IMDb list or in some cases what the image is could in fact be the movie title. That means that for all the questions you will not have had to see the movies or even know the stories to identify the movies from the clues, which is why this is a game more like a treasure hunt than a quiz. I have seen at least 12 of his movies, but only a few of the movies on this game, and I may have used some of them in previous quizzes or games, wherein I might have used the same or similar clues for some as I had before. I don't think any of the clues are actual screen shots from the movies. I try to use clues that do not make it easy to do a web search, and since this is a test of your ability to find the answers, web searching using google or web programs that identify movies from the clues is cheating. The real fun of the game is using the visual clues and mini-synopses required to identify the movies – the challenge is what makes it a worthwhile task.

There may be lists with the same or similar names but with different movies or sources so IT IS NECESSARY to use ONLY the one that is linked above.
Note that I (almost) never use the same movie more than once in the same game. I said "almost" because I mistakenly actually DID use the same movie twice in the Pirate Movie Game, but caught it and replaced it when I got the first submission.
THE RULES
I am being fairly lenient in my scoring, and not overly concerned about spelling mistakes, obvious typos, punctuation, capitalizing or leaving out or adding an extraneous "A" or "The", but especially if you guess the answer you should check the movie name on the linked lists or web to make sure it is the full and correct name. For example, and this will be important for all my games, you will lose a half mark if you make the title one word if it is two, or two words when it is only one because that means to me that you are not sure of the title and you never checked your answer with the list to make sure it is correct. Just identifying the image does not necessarily mean that you know the name of the movie. That is only one of the reasons why it is important for you to check your answers with the lists to make sure they are correct. I can't believe how many times players do not bother and then lose score. As well, if you can convince me that my clues are equally as relevant for or better indicative of a movie other than the one I've chosen, provided it is one of the movies on the IMDb list linked above, I will accept that alternative as a good answer. Previously I did accept alternative movies for the questions.
Please also send only one answer for each question - I cannot score it if you provide more than one movie name per question.
A few who played the games when they were quizzes previously had quit because of the rules. But I wish to ask if there is a game that does NOT have rules that must be followed? Even a hint could mislead other players, and the biggest problem is that if I were to allow it I might have to waste unnecessary hours of research to make sure it didn't lead to a movie in the game.
A few times now a situation came up previously where the movie list link I used came up with a different name than the one the participant got when they opened that same movie name although it was the same link, so if that happens, and usually it is a foreign movie, please tell me when I score your answers

A new week, a new movie game. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO SEE ANY OF THE MOVIES TO GET A PERFECT SCORE. Most of the questions are pretty easy - some virtually shout out the movie title to you but there are also a few trickier ones, so come on everyone, have some fun, but remember as always...
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS, ANY MOVIE OR ACTOR NAMES, IMAGES, MOVIE QUOTES OR EVEN A HINT IN A COMMENT HERE, OR YOU WILL RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE. POST YOUR ANSWERS IN A PRIVATE NOTE TO ME, BUZZ OF THE ORIENT, AND I WILL REPLY WITH YOUR SCORE AND THE CORRECT ANSWERS.
This game will be closed and the winners announced Monday March 31st at around 10 p.m New York Time.
Thinking about the clues
You've got lots of time.
Cool beans!! Thanks Buzz!
Cool beans? Never saw that expression before.
Yes, I watched a lot of Cheech & Chong in my youth.
Ah, I wasn't a fan of that show.
Wow, I'm the first one to submit.
Thanks Buzz, this was fun!
Yes, you were the first. Thanks Snuffy. Your answers have been received and scored.
IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHANGE OF CLUE
Due to confusion, the clue for question number 6 has been changed from what was originally posted.
Morning bump to remain on the front page.
Thanks for the help.
Just a quick shout-out to play something a lot more fun than Signal!!!
I hear ya!!!
I believe I've figured them out, will do one last check and submit later.
Now let's get this back on the front page.
Thanks for the bump.
This game will be closed and the winners announced Monday March 31st at around 10 p.m New York Time.
For those of us not well versed enough to know more than one or two do you share the answers after the winners are are announced?
When I close the game I announce the Winners' Circle (1st. 2nd, 3rd place and Honourable Mention) but I do not post the names and scores of those who don't make it to the Winners' Circle, and I post the answers with their clues so people like yourself can check through the clues and the answers and learn how to play the game from that. Here is my comment when I closed the Anthony Hopkins game:

Great, thanks. I see a monthly 10 dollar bet between my wife and myself starting with this month.
LOL. Are you going to consider the announced win/place/show results to be like betting on a horse race? Or will take the gamble of trying to reach the Winners' Circle yourself?
If I think I can get half the answers correct I will go for it otherwise I will have to be happy defeating my wife. Assuming I can beat her.
Best of luck in giving it a try. Remember that it does not require seeing even one movie in your life to get a perfect score, but it requires the skill of being able to do research, to seek and find, to use common sense, and knowedge of being able to identify what should be common knowledge.

Cold and rainy day here and just north of us it looks to be ice accumulation. Oh how I love springtime in Michigan /s.
I must say that I'm happy to now be living where ice and snow are just a memory.
Just seen a video from Gaylord, MI, they got hammered hard with 3/4" of ice. A customer was in this morning and his sister, who lives in that area, reported you can't find a gallon of gas.
This time of year Michigan has what's known as frost laws limiting the weight and speed of trucks and heavy equipment on local and residential roadways, so anyone who would help with heavy equipment couldn't. The MDOT finally removed those restrictions for that area.

Only 7 have played, and this game will be closed in about 12 hours. All who played so far are loyal and consistent players. I am disappointed that nobody new has given this a shot, but then after all, who wants to have a little fun these days anyway?
This quiz is now closed. It's a bit of a disappointment for me that after having last time reached my goal of double digit participatioln that nobody new has had the ambition or desire to have a little fun concerning movies, with the potential of getting a perfect score without having seen a movie in their whole life, but so be it - maybe they're just concerned about doing badly and appearing incompetent.
This time 4 players have won with perfect 20 scores, in order of submitting answers, Snuffy, Perrie, Dig and Veronica. Second Place goes to bccrane who scored 18 and achieving third place with a score of 17 is charger 383. Honourable Mention goes to Vic Eldred who got 15 answers right. Everyone was in the Winners' Circle. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all who played.
Here are the answers which I wish those who want to have a little fun will compare with the clues and see if they could have made it to the Winners' Circle themselves. Of course not everybody can be a winner, and there are also losers, but IMO, it's those who are afraid to play are the losers.
1 Breakfast with Hunter - a breakfast
2 Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil - clock showing midnight
3 The Sure Thing - a Gibson guitar
4 The Grifters - an image of angles
5 The Factory - a buffalo
6 Hot Pursuit - a yacht captain
7 Adaptation - orchids
8 Grace is Gone - a father with 2 daughters
9 Hot Tub Time Machine - a hot tub
10 Better Off Dead - Joseph Stalin
11 This Is My Father - vintage photos of a couple
12 Must Love Dogs - dogs
13 Shadows and Fog - shadows
14 The Raven - Nevermore
15 Broadcast News - a triangle
16 Shanghai - Shanghai
17 Being John Malkovich - a puppeteer
18 One Crazy Summer - a cartoonist
19 Roadside Prophets - 2 guys on motorcycles
20 1408 - a dolphin
I'm going to post a new movie game tomorrow, on April Fool's Day, and it will be open until Monday April 7th at about 10 p.m. New York time. Let's see how you can do on THAT one.
Thanks Buzz, this was a fun game. Congrats to all who played.
You're welcome. Posting a real killer tomorrow.
