Our friend Dowser lost her mom to brain cancer last night after a long and hard battle. I wish her and her family love and peace. It has been a long, tiring road.
Dowser, thoughts a prayers are going up for you and your family. May you soon take comfort in knowing that she is is peace now. Much love to yo dear friend. ((Dowser and family)))
Dowser, me heart is aching for you, myfriend. I know how much you loved your Mom and how hard you worked to help her and to take care of her. I pray that the Creator will hold you and comfort you through this. I wish I was there with you to help you out some and to give you a big hug. You are a wonderful person that does so much for others with your love and caring.
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length, She hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone"
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"
I cannot thank all of you enough for your kind words of sympathy and understanding.
I believe, with all my heart, that my mother is at peace and happy. She was a lovely person, and I will miss her dreadfully-- but I don't want her back to suffer. She is with her parents and grandparents and my father.
Your kind words of sympathy have reminded me, once again, that all that we have in this life that matters, is love. It's all we can take with us when we leave, too.
She lived to be 83 years old. Going through pictures today, (those that I could find), she was a cute little kid, and quite a beautiful young woman.
This is not the picture we used for her obituary, because I didn't find it in time, but she was a lovely young woman.

May she rest peacefully.
Much love to all that are here, and thank you, again, for your prayers and loving wishes.
Dowser, be thankful you had you mother for so many years. I know you are. Even with the pain you feel today it also comes with the knowledge your mother is in a much more wonderful place tonight and is not suffering anymore. My mother had cancer for 5 years, died at 52 and seeing her no longer suffering was a blessing I know you are experiencing now although your heart is still aching. I want to borrow this comment from Enoch which I realize is true even today.
No one is truly gone until the last person whose life they touched is departed.
Dearest Dowser, please know that you are in my thoughts. My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, dear friend. May she rest in peace after enduring the pain and suffering of illness for so long. May you find comfort in knowing that you served her well during her struggles. (((((((((((((Dowser)))))))))))))
My dear friend Dowser, I wish I could be with you to take the pain for you and hold it so you won't have to feel it, to dry your tears and to give you hugs that youshould not have to feel the hurt. Sometimes, just saying words never seem to be enough. I love you, my friend and that will never change.
You are certainly in my prayers that the Creator will hold you and comfort you, and make sure you know that all your NT friends are with you whether you can see them there or not.
In college I worked as a part-time CNA on weekends. I ended up being trained specifically for DNR or hospice/comfort care wings. Despite my vocabulary, I've never been good at speaking words of relief but rather, talked to residents by listening and by my actions/reactions.
By far, my saddest moments came when the resident who was aware of their condition, spoke to me in bitter words finding little or no solace that there was no one left behind to mourn them when they passed.
Then there are fortunate ones, while some may be wracked in pain, nonetheless die in peace if not joy, knowing that there are loved ones surrounding them who will miss them and pray for them.
It appears to me, you Mother passed away in glorious comfort.
Thank you for letting us know. My prayers and thoughts are with her. She has struggled hard to make her mother's last months and weeks as comfortable as possible.
I am slowly struggling to come back to life, and am having some success-- not much! But all of you-- I have taken great comfort in your words and good wishes, and from your prayers.
Thank you, all of you, for your kind and loving messages. They have really helped!!!

She has found peace from a painful struggle. Your last words to her, that you loved her, were what many have not had the opportunity to say.

Dear Friend Arch Man: I can only agree with and most fully support your post.
Thanks for sharing it.

Knowing the details of her difficult final months being "set free" is the best description of her passing .

He is so pretty, I want to hug him, which wouldn't make him at all happy... But it would me!!! Thank you so much!!!
I've missed everyone, but have been unable to communicate very well...
I love you, dear A. Mac-- looking forward to getting back to Taliwag and the gang. They help pull me through so much!
I just posted a hysterical photo, if you wish to use it somehow!
