Butterflies in the Winter - Missouri - Photos
Photos takenat the Butterfly Palace in Branson MO.
They are raised in a plastic container with top. The cocoon is attached to the lid of the container. When the top is removed the butterfly will start coming out of their cocoons. Some will stay in the container until they are able to fly. Some come out of the cocoon ready to fly.
Enjoy.

Now that is some colorful beauty to brighten up a snowy day in NE Ohio
Thanks for sharing
We sometimes go to Branson when we visit our oldest who lives near Joplin but have not run across The Butterfly Palace. It is now on our "need to check out and visit list for 2014"
It's a great place, and the Butterfly exhibit is only one part of it.
Here is a link for it Robert.
Many thanks!!!!
Handsome beasts. We have one here, too, but it doesn't open until May.
I think the one here is open year around Gunny.
I love butterflies and the photos are not just well done, but fine examples of some great types. I used to breed painted lady butterflies in my classroom for my students. It is an amazing process to see!
Another secret talent of your's Perrie, ''The Butterfly Lady''.
Bugs f--king in school in front of kids? OMG. *Grump clutches his pearls and dives for the fainting couch.*
LOL, first it's not a school Grump. It was the old folks that fainted.
Be sure you don't lose those pearls.
Did you take those photos, Kavika, or are they from the Butterfly Palace collection?
My wife, Red took the photos Buzz.
I was referring to Perrie's breeding of flutterbys in her classroom.
A ''flutterbys'', hehehe, your sharp this morning Grumpy.
These butterflies are all so beautiful that there is no way to pick a favorite. Red did an awesome job of capturing how lovely they are. Thanks for sharing these with us Kavika.
Thanks Melanie, they really are quite beautiful. Red had one fly and land on her shoulder, trying to get a photo of it didn't work out..She was just amazed by the beautiful surrounding her.
Looks like Monarchs and a Swallowtail. It's good to see these harbingers of Spring at this time of year.
I don't know what they are Mac, except that they are beautiful.
Only the butterflies themselves know their real names (along with their Creator of course).
That is very true Mac.
Perrie no wonder you look so young.
One looked like Babbette!
That is true rmer
What does Babbette look like?
Oh, okay.
