With all the Neurological problems present in society science and Doctors think they have found the problem. You'll be surprised With who is to blame. Point the finger at the culprit the rest of the world is.
Bad fish Wheat has not always been the devastating problem it is now. This problem is decades old. Twenty to 30 years ago true wheat went away. A high percent of the worlds true wheat is gone. Many countries are bringing it back to my knowledge we are not one of them not yet.
Not real wheat? Not the original seeds, is that what you mean?
Is it Dupont and Monsanto that we should blame, or an entity before them ?
I don't read Genesis . But I do read teeth . Teeth say we are omnivores ...
I think so.
This might sound silly, but I've wondered if it has to do with mammalian size/height.
It seems like most land mammals that are closer to the ground are carnivorous, and most tall land mammals are vegetarian. It seems like the size dictates the need to eat vegetarian if it would be difficult for them to reach small animals; just like a small mammal would have a harder time eating leaves and branches from a tall tree - the exception might be animals like monkeys - that can hang around up high or low. ..Just guessing.
Have you ever tried to gum a pork chop ?
I think our teeth are a give-away in what our expected diet would be...plant eaters have more molars for chewing, carnivores have canines [incisors] for ripping, shredding and defense.
In my comment above about 'size,' I'm kind of suggesting the chicken or the egg thing - did we adapt [our size] to the diet we found, or did our size force us to physically adapt to a certain food source changing our teeth.
That's interesting on them blending grass genes with wheat to produce a completely different variety. I didn't know that.
(Just to note, I think India is one of those countries that's been trying to bring back original seed farms for certain crops, but I think they ran into some political snags. It's really disheartening for farmers to be controlled and restricted, and sued.)
I can't find that article that I came across long ago about the original scientist that discovered injecting foreign DNA and eventually pesticide-inducing material into certain crops--might be that Russian guy
, not sure, but I remember it being said that everyone was so excited about it back then, because the poor and indigenous peoples of foreign countries wouldn't have to starve, due to variety not natural to their environment, the need for drought/pest-resistant varieties, and they expected cost savings. ..Oh right. I don't believe their 'now we can feed the world' propaganda at all -- someone saw the profit margins and seized the opportunity.
I agree. It doesn't seem like a good product. I learned something about wheat from you. It doesn't sound like you're discussing the gluten debate, but wheat itself? Thank you for your article.
What is odd that the insulin resistance in the brain is not always associated with Diabetes or intestinal Diabetes symptoms. My mother died of Lou Gehrig's disease but had no indication of diabetes. But back then they did not believe in type 2 diabetes and in the military they would not treat me for it until an endocrinology Specialist Who came to the base who was the Doctor who was assigned to the our Presidents came to the base hospital where I was being treated. I was miss diagnosed by about 5 years and treated for thyroid disease wrongly for 3 years.
My wife was treated for thyroid problems for years and visiting doctor from another world renowned hospital discovered she had aglomeglia ( miss spelled) and she had a Tumor on her Pituitary gland which was operated on then grew back then they did Radiation Treatments and she takes injections as her growth hormone requires the injections. Wife was miss diagnosed at least 10 years.
So the AMA and I are not friends. They are so regimented and controlled by politics and big Pharmacy as to be almost useless. I believe its why we are # 36 now in the world when it comes to medical care.
Don't mean to be bitter but science and Medicine do not go hand in hand nor do we allow medicine practices in top medical countries the 35 ahead of us to impact what is allowed in this country. I really was lucky to find a doctor who is an engineer and now a Medical Doctor. She treats my neuropathy of the feet numbness she cleared it 4 years ago and is almost cleared up again no meds. She uses Micro Vass it works wonders now being used on my friend that ad neuropathy caused by Chemotherapy. He has almost all his feeling back. Doctors told him there was no treatment just last year.
Thank you for your insights, rmeR. What you say is exactly why I have no faith in the AMA, and is part of the reason why I don't support Obamacare insurance mandates: 1) if I am diagnosed with any condition, I'm quite likely to 'not' follow orthodox procedural advice (so why should I be forced to pay into something I don't support or agree with, and am not likely to use?!); 2) it's obviously a scam implemented for financial gain in escalating business for those affected Cartels.
Formerstew - Guess they don't take kindly to being sued.
Most know that their products will cause 'something' for many, but they know that many people will still use them anyway. They'll tell you about all of the 'side effects,' but often fail to tell you that products such as those used to treat cold/flu symptoms affect the heart valves (not learned on the internet). Sometimes we'll get a knowledgeable doc that knows those things and can offer us alternatives, if there aren't any kickbacks involved, but when the industry gets approval to go OTC with their stuff...well, people are taking the bait...hook, line and sinker.
Oh, big Pharma, when we will ever do something about getting honesty from them. :P
Now I'm on Medicare but before that the military treated my sickness. My wife was also treated and had aglameglia. A teenager in Dayton Ohio could not get insurance and treatment just about destroyed her parents. Lost their house and even sold their wedding rings. Shots were over $1000.00 a month just for medicine lord knows what it costs now. So ability to get insurance can save not only a life but a family. As long as you don't believe in insurance and medicine and don't expect to be able to get thousands of dollars of treatments every month no sweat. Live happy.
My understanding it was a scientist in Cincinnati Ohio who did the early work for Monsanto. A friend of mine I used to work with went to school with him.
Some Monkey's are omnivores. Chimps use sticks as tools to drag ants out of ant hills and eat them.
I get my flu shot every year. Many don't. I'm eating much better so maybe that is helping as well. Haven't really been sick in three years. knock on wood.
There are particular enzymes that are critical to brain development that we can only get from ingesting meat. In short, yes... the teeth tell the truth.
The evolutionary history found in the fossil record would indicate that we adapted our diet, and hence our ancestors teeth and other physiological traits adapted to our wide variety of "whats for dinner"!
That makes sense to me, too. I also agree with your thoughts below on our needs for animal nutrition, at least in the early years.
Out of curiosity does the same criticism of wheat apply to the durum flour used to make pasta [as opposed to the flour for bread ] ?
Retired military,
Oh yes, I know we have Monsanto to blame, as well as Dupont, and actually more, as well as knowledge acquired from foreign corporations. The person I was referencing, that I can't find information on, was foreign (Russian, maybe) and was the originator, I believe.
