Shore Enough? For Some Here on NT, They Can Never Get Enough!

I'll take the beach after September when there are usually no bathers … and the Striped Bass, Bluefish and Weakfish (Sea Trout) are often feeding just close enough in to reach them with a surf rod …

… but that's just me; for most of the rest …

Let me know when I've saturated you with too many scenes like this one. (© A. Mac/A.G.)

Don't grow up too quickly? Well, I can't stop the aging process, but, I can always act immature.

For some reason, I hear a lot of … "Are you behavin' yourself?"

My stock response … "Hell, yeah, but watch out when I get to assisted living."

That creates a bit of perspective to those preoccupied with my being a "good boy."

Enjoy the sun, surf and sand.*

*Too many humans for my taste.

Me, I love it when they tell me to go fly a kite, I do exactly that. We have a beach here in Washington, at Greyland, quarter mile wide smooth hard sand. Ten to 15 knot steady wind most of the time.

Perfect for flying the big ones.

When I get particularly down, I take my 16 footer out for a sail. (sometimes I even add a tail to it)

Few people and the power of nature, what could be better!

Landing a little tail is always a pleaser...

In the same way that big cats are dangerous while a little pussy never hurt anyone.

I always had trouble keeping my kite up in the air but they were beautiful to watch.  Graceful but resilient against the wind.

I spent many many summers at the Jersey shore. Mostly in Surf City.

Cerenkov,

Here's an old photo I restored from a Magic Lantern slide …

Surf City, NJ , c.1900 … the name was changed from "Long Beach City" in 1894!

Some "city," huh?

Mac,

Now you will just have to get a shot of that place during the Winter, just to be able to conclusively prove to everyone that it actually DOES snow in Hollywood.thumbs up

Heading over there now with my camera; I don't want to miss it if it starts to snow.

it's 80 degrees here … but what the heck.

You can never tell, it might.  While you're getting the shots of that snow, you could also duck down to Hell and get some shots of the snow there.  Sounds like the chances are about the same in each place.

Dang, we don't have a smiley with snow coming down around him.

By the way Mac, it really does snow in Hell.  Hell, Michigan, a small unincorporated community not far NE of Jackson and close to Ann Arbor.

What fun!  A sight for sore eyes, as they say here...  Renews my spirit!

I think, not sure, but I think some of the trees are budding out here in Owensboro.  Can't be sure because it is night and I don't see well at night...  But if so, that is wonderful news!
