Tell us the truth Mac. You really have a whole house/coop full of trained birds and a separate one of butterflies that pose anyway you want them to. Right?

Baby birds are never satisfied - but I'm satisfied that this was an excellent photo, a lucky shot, and well-captioned.

Tell us the truth Mac.

They're actor critters and they're unionized and I represent them

a perfect Conflict-of-Insects and Bird-in of Proof working relationship.

Actually, the term "creatures of habit" is quite accurate; over the years I have learned to anticipate much in the way of animal/insect/bird behavior and even body language. Having a degree in biology and one in Art History/Fine Arts constitutes a perfect marriage of disciplines regarding nature photography.

One way to spot a juvenile bird is to note the flapping of its feathers when wanting to be fed.
