YES, the early bird gets the worm, has been a motivational motto for many generations implying that the person the gets up and goes, goes and gets.
But on the other hand, The early worm gets the bird, is the other perspective which is often forgotten in our society. But, that is not a caricature that a society such as ours will ensconce itself with.
The lesson is that whatever you do to get forth in life, someone gets left behind or stepped on in the process. The art is in do undo others, yes get up and go, but bring the rest with you.
The heart of enlightenment thinking.
We are a society of individuals, we were founded that way, but we think for the whole. For, if we don't then we become nothing but birds and worms....
But as time marches on, the bird dies, and the worms succeed in getting the bird. That brings up another adage - Patience is a virtue. Or think of the story of the tortoise and the hare.
Actually, the egg came first it was the egg of a reptile in which a genetic mutation/evolution first manifested itself with bird-like and reptilian morphology.
New lens still kicks butt!
A very beautiful and well fed bird
