Avoid the brink, but go to the link.

Avoid the brink, but go to the link.

Wish I'd thought of that, Buzz.

Do I see an adult and a child sitting near the right bottom looking into the canyon, or is that just an illusion from rocks and plants? If it is no illusion, then of course that increases the value of the photo from a very good landscape to an excellent one.

I don't think so, Buzz, but I'm not sure.

Hawkeye has made a decision. Nope it isn't human at all, Buzz.

Although it could be a Yenaldloosi of the Navajo.

The layers have always fascinated me...  Periods of uplift, followed by periods of quiescence.  Granular rocks, followed by finer sediments...  Truly amazing how the history of our earth is revealed in such a spectacular fashion!

Wonderful picture!  (They all were-- I really liked the sentinels of the forest...)

Dowser, it's my understanding that there is actually a gap in the geologic succession of the canyon!

We call those unconformities.  A  period of time when the formations were exposed at the surface, worn away, and then re-buried....  I can't think of any place that has a full geologic column...  At least, not in KY!

I know this one takes a bit, but keep your eye on the far left of the 3 main globs of continents in the middle.  That's us.  We've certainly moved around a lot!  winking

Utterly amazing just how beautiful Creator has made so many things to give to us, 'specially out here in the SW.

Also utterly amazing is how you've been able to capture it on film.

Thanks Mac.

Just gettin' started today.

As I experiment and learn new techniques, I am finding many images in my data base that I always deemed "marginal" in terms of color, contrast, tone and sharpness … can be raised to "publishable" quality. It's exciting, since pictures I haven't looked at in years, are like "new"!

And how I lament over the 8,000+ slides that were placed with an agent in the days before digital; he passed away several years ago and his widow and other family tried gallantly but in vain, to separate by photographer, over 100,000 slides in plastic sheets, and return them. I received a couple of hundred by that's it. Among the ones I will never recover are Baseball Hall of Fame shots … I have to stop … I'm getting depressed.

Anyway, as I get these oldies ready for market, I will share them with you guys (some of whom have already come by) … although I have no problem with selling and leasing my pix, THE MOST GRATIFYING EXPERIENCE IS SHARING THEM WITH YOU!

Thanks for being my friends.

Praise God for giving us all the beauty in nature to remind us of His creation and how much better still it will be in the World made new.  A beautiful picture.

Thank you XX; in my heart, I believe God Himself would rejoice if we as human beings made it new for Him as a gesture of gratitude.

I appreciate your presence here and your kind words.

That's a fine compliment, NWM, but there are a number of your pictures, that when I look at them, I say to myself (or whoever is around at the time), "Damn, I wish I took that!"

Good mornin'; I am continuing to go through my older pix to find those I can resurrect and bump from "marginal" to "publishable". Those that make the grade will be shared …

… those I continue to remain in obscurity will be nevertheless released by Wikileaks via a request of Donald Trump by way of Moscow.

That fucker knows no bounds.
