Just for the hell of it...disabled musicians.
Many musicians and performers are disabled. Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, etc. Blindness seems to be the most prominent. Still the drummer for Def Leppard (Rick Allen) lost an arm and still continues to play for the band to this day. Pretty good for a drummer.
Here is one of my favorites. Most blind musicians are piano players, but the late Jeff Healey managed to become a great and greatly under appreciated guitar player as a blind musician. He played rock and roll and blues like few others. Pretty good for a blind White guy. When he died we lost a great talent.

Damn he was good! And not bad for a blind Canadian either.
Sorry there are so many posts, but I made a mistake on one and if I delete it, they all go away.
Having been deeply involved with folk music during the late 50s, the 60s and early 70s I got to see and know many famous folk musicians, some of whom had disabilities such as Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, and Doc Watson.
I guess there aren't any old folkies around.
Even if he could see he would be counted among the great rock and roll guitar players. IMHO.
Great video Randy. Love Jeff Healey on the guitar.
He was awesome and not just because he was blind. He was just simply a great musician!
Other members, please post some of your favorite clips from disabled musicians you have enjoyed!
Always loved Ray Charles. Had a chance to see him in the mid-70's at The University of North Dakota, but agreed to give up my ticket to a friend because he had a date and I didn't. Lucky bastard. What the hell, Phil was a good guy, but I still wish I had seen Ray perform.
Saw Ray in concert once with Billy Preston back-up. One of the best I've seen. Have always been a Jeff Healy fan. Here's a couple of more, Jose Feliciano, Ronnie Milsap, and George Shearing.
Fantastic! Great to hear his music, but also his biography! Great selection!
Terrific video. I really enjoyed watching it.
Also incredible. Great on the guitar, but also great at getting through his life! I wonder what his driving test at the DMV was like?
Unbelievable! Just jaw dropping! I hope everyone on the site sees this video!
I hate to dash your hopes, but......
???
You said you hoped that everyone on this site could see that video, but I thought you knew I could not open YouTube.
It's the one below "Yes You Can" Buzz.
Wow!!!
Simply amazing, isn't it!
Absolutely.
This is a great article. Thanks for posting it, Randy.
You're welcome Buzz. I was watching "Roadhouse" the other night and I was watching Jeff Healey playing. I have been a fan of his for a long time and the truth is that, as good as he was in the movie, he was really a much better guitar player then you could tell from the movie. He had that specially built guitar so he could play rhythm guitar while he was singing and then to switch to some incredible solo playing. And then getting up and dancing around while playing behind his head while blind! Damn! And not just playing, but kicking ass! It got me to thinking of how many great musicians there have been who were physically handicapped in one way or another and what they had to overcome to become as good as they were.
Thanks Six. Glad I could watch that.
