Some old sunsets from Acapulco.
I am going to post some old Sunsets from the night before the arrival in Acapulco at the request of Buzz. I will post some early morning misty shots of coming into the harbor. After that I will post some shots, especially some cathedral shots for the town of Taxco Mexico, known for it's silver mining. The ship was docked for 12 hours in Acapulco and that's how long the tour was scheduled. 4 hours there. 4 Hour in Taxco. Then 4 hours back. To get there required a 4 hour trip on a two lane highway in a 12 person van dug into the side of a cliff several hundred feet up the side of a mountain. I don't know how many people remember the old Disney phrase, but it was a real E Ticket ride, especially the 4 hours back in the dark and considering there were no guard rails. Most of the passengers were asking the driver to slow down. while I was making enemies by asking him to let it go!
Anyway, enjoy. I did.
These are OK. Acceptable. Barely. For a 5.0. I wish at the time (2009) I had a camera to do these shots justice!)
There is never a bad photo of the setting sun.
Well done.
As the Sun got lower I was hoping for the impossible. A shot of the legendary green flash just as it drops below the horizon. No such luck. Every time I have been at sea and the sky has been clear at sunset I still try for it. I have seen it, but never photographed it. It's like Mac and his butter fly taking off. Something you dream about catching on a shot.
Nothing wrong with those sunsets, Randy. It's a great series. Try putting a space between your photos.
I have temporarily forgotten how, but I shall remember and do it. Don't tell me or I will feel like fool.
Dear Friend Randy: Well done.
Please keep them coming.
Enoch.
Great pictures!
We went to Acapulco in 1972-- had a blast and it was such a beautiful area! We were going to Taxco, and rented a jeep, but driving so long in an open jeep was too much, so we stopped at a little town called Iquala. The gold capital... LOVELY trip!! Had a wonderful time!
Thanks for the pictures!!!
I think I have some from Aruba somewhere, I'll have to look around for them.......
