“Teachers ‘scared’ to teach lessons on 9/11 terror attack”

“Teachers ‘scared’ to teach lessons on 9/11 terror attack”

by Camilla Turner, Telegraph , September 9, 2017:

Some teachers are too scared to discuss 9/11 with their pupils as they fear a backlash from Muslim parents, a leading expert in counter-extremism education has warned.

Kamal Hanif OBE, who was appointed by the Government to turn around three schools at the heart of the “Trojan Horse” scandal, said that some teachers have a “misplaced” concern that they will cause offence if they raise 9/11 in the classroom.

He said that some teachers – particularly those who work in schools with a high proportion of Muslim students – see it as a contentious topic and shy away from teaching it.

“Teachers sometimes have a fear that this might be controversial,” he said.

“[They think] if we teach about this we might get Muslim parents objecting.”

Mr Hanif, who is executive principal of Waverley Education Foundation and has advised the Department for Education (DfE) on combating counter-extremism in schools, said that such views are misguided.

“There is a fear [among teachers] but it is not really grounded in anything,” he said.

“It is based on their stereotypical view of a community as opposed to the reality. It is very misplaced. It is an assumption.”

His comments come ahead of the 16th anniversary of 9/11, which saw 2,997 killed when Al-Qaeda launched a series of coordinated terrorist attacks after hijacking planes and crashing them into the World Trade Centre complex and the Pentagon.

Mr Hanif is a trustee for the educational charity Since 9/11, which provides free teaching resources about the attacks and their aftermath.

The resources, which are endorsed by the Department for Education and the Home Office, are aimed at secondary school children, but the charity is now developing a new set of materials for primary schools.

Sir Steve Lancashire, the chief executive of a multi academy trust which which is piloting the materials in its 55 primary schools, said a lot of teachers feel “uncomfortable” about the legacy of 9/11.

“We need to address the nervousness of teachers to teach this kind of subject. Teacher don’t feel well equipped on facts – there are a lot of conspiracy theories, a lot of misinformation,” he said.

The superhead said teachers are scared that they will be accused by their students of being Islamophobic if they try to teach about 9/11 and its legacy….

Was there such a fear about teaching about WWII after the war ended?  Why is there such fear now?

Yet another small step.....

The false "islamaphobia" label was a brilliant tactic from the jihadists and their liberal apologists.

Yes, Cerenkov, as established by some liberal members on this site, one who is particularly rabid about it.

The false "islamaphobia" label

Islam is the only religion with active hit teams spanning the globe targeting those who disparage the prophet. Or those who commit other sins real, or imaginary, deemed as an offense to honor to the Ummah.

It's the whole honor shame paradigm thing. This dude, Dr. Richard Landes is on top of it.  A recommended read. It is about Israel, but it transfers well world wide. Israel is just the little satan, America is the great satan. It might (what ever it is) start in Israel, but if it's successful, it's exported worldwide. Look at the vehicle attacks, they started there, and were exported to Europe. Other than oil, terror is the biggest export from the middle east.

I have no doubt that there are teachers in North America who are afraid to say anything about 9/11 because of the posibility of being chastized by the PC Warriors.

Your seeded article appears to take place in Britain.

Look for one in America if you want to relate it to America.

Well, the trend encouraged by Obama is probably stalled somewhat now, but as I've said before:

Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you.

(I think it was WalMart that coined that phrase, was it not?)

However, it's approached differently in America, like teaching the young innocent kids to recite the Shahada, and taking them on field trips to mosques.  No doubt that if anyone complains about it they will be labeled an Islamophobe - and I'm sure the SPLC will take note of it.

Good old fashioned American authoritarianism, that's what it is, and white privilege all rolled into one.

In just one comment, so much that is wrong with America, and Americans is exposed. The imagined superiority to dictate terms of just what is acceptable is stunning, just stunning.

If I were you, I'd listen carefully and take heed. You, as a Canadian, are supposed to follow instructions. A white privileged American has spoken!!!! (LOL)

I'm holier than thou.............I'm too the left of you!

LOL.  My more objective and less prejudiced articles and comments because I'm neither a citizen nor resident of the USA are not appreciated by some "patriotic to the extent of intentional blindness" NT members is sometimes not appreciated. However, I do sometimes "Speak My Mind".

Leftist talking points always sound like nonsensical babble. That is, in fact, my point.

All I told him is that he posted an article related to an event in the United States , and is using schools in Britain as an example of something.

Surely if he is speaking to a basically US audience , such as on Newstalkers, he can find an example of such classrooms in the United States.

I provided an example of what the American schools are doing, which IMO leads down the same path.

Ah, John, I knew I would draw your comment, and what you would say, and my fishing was successful, hook, line and sinker.

As I said: Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you.

Anyone can say whatever they want. I asked you for an example of this happening in the United States and you dont have one.

I could probably find one, but I'm not going to do your work for you.

Examples of submission in America:

There are a number of stories in this article:

I'm not going to waste any more time proving the fact that American society and its schools are submitting to Islam, and personally, your comments over the years have IMO educational in that regard as well.

Who are these PC warriors that you are afraid of? Teach the facts ands don't editorialize and it will be fine.

PC Warriors?  They are those who make sure nothing critical is said about anyone other than their perfect selves.

If the teachers teach the facts, then they will have to say that the planes were hijacked by Muslims, and who knows, maybe a FATWA will be declared against them for being critical of Muslims. There will probably be a complaint from CAIR filed, and the teacher will most likely be disciplined and perhaps fired.

Yes, fatwas on anyone who speaks ill of Islam and the firing of teachers for teaching history are very common occurrences.  I'm sure there's a fatwa on me, because I'm sure some imam somewhere actually gives a damn that I think Islam is bunk.

“Teachers ‘scared’ to teach

Imams need to "fear" teaching this in British mosques

Kamran Hussain, 40, allegedly made a series of radical sermons over four months last year encouraging terrorism and supporting IS in Syria. The Friday lunchtime speeches at the charity-funded mosque in Tunstall High Street, Stoke on Trent, were in front of around 40 worshippers, often including children aged under 15, jurors heard. He was arrested after an undercover law enforcement officer secretly recorded sermons from June last year.On September 2 last year, Hussain talked about martyrdom to a congregation of nine children and 35 adults

Prosecutor Sarah Whitehouse QC said: "Mr Hussain told his audience that martyrdom was the supreme success and was greater than any other success, such as school or college.Martyrs had nothing to fear when "you go in front of Allah with the bullet wounds and the sword wounds and you are raised in that situation with the blood still coming from your body" , Hussain allegedly said.He continued on the same theme on September 16 last year and criticised the Prevent programme, aimed at identifying and intervening when young people are at risk of radicalisation, jurors heard.

You probably don't want to spend the time looking at this, but it is quite interesting.  Wish I could post the video for you Buzz, but it's just too long to convert, but I will post the audio if you want to spend the time listening to it.

This is a video as part of the teaching of 911 to students.  It kind of puts a lot of the blame on the Western world for the events of 911.  That's why it's "Road to 911".

The bad thing is some of it is writing on the screen by Osama bin Laden for example, but 80 years of humiliation by the western world is the reason for 911, he claims.  Turkey stepped away from Islamic Fundamentalism in the video, but as of late that doesn't seem to be the case.  Of course Lebanon has been transformed as you know as well.

Cleveland State Univ’s Muslim maintenance director erases 9/11 chalk memorial

Source: Cleveland State University staffer tied to Islamic center erases 9/11 chalk memorial – Red Alert Politics   h/t religionofpeace.com

Early this morning, maintenance workers at Cleveland State University (CSU) washed away a chalk drawing which students made in tribute to the Americans who lost their lives on September 11.

The sidewalk art depicted a large American flag and the message “9-11-01 Never Forget.” The artwork was done by CSU Turning Point USA chapter members who gathered outside the student center the evening before.

The power washing took place at the request of the university’s Director of Maintenance, Shehadeh Abdelkarim , according Tiffany Roberts, CSU’s TPUSA chapter president.

"Some teachers are too scared to discuss 9/11 with their pupils as they fear a backlash from Muslim parents, a leading expert in counter-extremism education has warned."

It's not the "Parents" that are the problem, it's the PC School Boards ! They allow Stupid Parents to run the ENTIRE asylum.

The school boards need to be slapped around....quite a few times. Maybe then they will "Man Up" and concentrate on Factual education, instead of fantasy education. They allow some things to ideologically fly, and then disallow others. No wonder Teachers are afraid ! The  Teachers don't know what the fuck they are allowed to do. The school boards are all over the place when it comes to this PC, snowflake, safe space CRAP !
