I don't think so, Mike I didn't notice many during the photo shoot. More likely, as Spring and Summer come and the butterflies copulate and the females lay their eggs, the caterpillars will emerge and I'll hopefully get some decent photos of them.
There is no chaos in Nature, rather the limited mind of humanity turns order to chaos in its apparent need to apply human "reason" to why things happen the way they do; there's even a term for that "teleology."
That bottom one is pure art (Art).
Got it and a big "thank you" for that.
Next article and photos from the past week about to be posted.
On close inspection, you are correct there is, in fact, a caterpillar in the bottom photo. Just below the wing and slightly to the right, behind the red flowers it appears to be a Monarch caterpillar.
More to come.
Take a break from the venomous talk and check out something any reasonable person can believe
Now that's a (somewhat) "personal religious belief" that hurts no one.
Simply beautiful Mac.
Yup, the venomous crap is over taking the FP.
A Mac
Beautiful shots!
I love to beautiful butterflies, sometimes sit in the garden on the bench and just watch them flutter around the flowers and herbs.
Thanks for sharing
I wouldn't say it but that's just my subjective assessment.
Functionally, they are both beautiful examples of the miracle and diversity of Nature.
Wait until you see some of the others I'll be posting.
Two lovely shots Mac! I especially like the second one since the butterfly's colors are blended well with the flowers in the picture.

I.D. correction these are TROPICAL QUEEN (a.k.a) "Soldier Butterflies) Danaus gillipus. Sorry they look like Monarchs at first glance.
Magnificent as usual! You bring brightness to an otherwise (mostly) depressing group of articles.
Not being an expert in butterfly identification I thought they were Monarchs as well.
Beautiful butterflies...my favorites!!
More in the new article and more to come after that.

Good call on your part!
