Trump's in his glory, and it's driving liberals nuts
When Donald Trump informed Kim Jong Un that his nuclear button "is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!" professional diplomats didn't know what to say.
Heads of state don't talk this way. No judicious, temperate words -- instead a crude threat with sexual undertones. No solemn press conference or presidential address to the nation, just a backhanded sally on Twitter.
A first principle of international relations is not to provoke armed leaders who are wacky or desperate, and here was Trump needling one with nukes! The man's unfit, his critics said.
But now a summit is in the works and three prisoners held by North Korea have been released, back in the United States in a dramatic 3 a.m. landing at Andrews Air Force Base. There to greet them with a handshake were the American President and first lady. Meanwhile, notwithstanding scorching appraisals from the press for months, Trump's approval ratings remain firm in the low-40% range. But his numbers on handling several key issues are climbing, with almost 6 in 10 saying things in the country are going well.
Are we starting to get this picture now?
T he pattern should be familiar. Trump lobs a verbal grenade into the establishment crowd, who pronounce him bungling and unbalanced ... and then disaster doesn't befall the country and Trump's polling numbers don't sink.
----------------------------------------------------------
You might sympathize with liberal politicians and journalists, not to mention conservative Never Trumpers, who can't understand how this so-called farce-presidency can go on. They don't realize something about themselves though: They are a crucial factor in the Trump ascendancy.
----------------------------------------------------------
You see, when Trump taunted Kim, he also was, in essence, taunting establishment voices who appear on television and counsel prudence and protocol. When he criticized protesting athletes, he was also taking aim at sportscasters such as Bob Costas, who denounced Trump's "insulting remarks" but who are despised by viewers who don't want to be lectured at about politics by guys who are paid to broadcast games.

Journalists and intellectuals like to speak in terms of "the narrative." What Trump has done, and what commentators on TV and in print have helped him to do, is prove that they are not critics of the story. They aren't even narrators of it. They are characters in the plot, and the author of it is the very person they presume to diagnose.
ALL the "Liberals" and "Progressives" of the World, know not what they have been doing to themselves. But that's already a given.
Working, paying our taxes, loving our families and friends, fighting for pay equity for women, fighting for equality for our fellow LGTBQ Americans and minorities? Yes, we know what we've been doing, it's called "the right thing" as history will show. Donald and his sycophant supporters continue to push for division, hate, inequality and prejudice claiming it's their right, but they will continue to lose the war even as they celebrate their small battle victories of making open bigotry mainstream again.
Maybe stay MORE INVOLVED with your own family. Everything else you say you rally for, will fall into place. Everything Starts at "HOME".....EVERYTHING !
"division, hate, inequality and prejudice"
When has that EVER ended again ?
I never said it had ever ended, I just implied that it fell out of favor for a time before the white supremacists, Nazis and KKK felt they had enough political cover with Trump in the white house to start marching again chanting "Jews will not replace us!". For the last couple decades being a huge overt racist wasn't popular, now we have them going on speaking tours at college campuses as if it's a valid ideology instead of the worthless trash it is. And by the way, I am very involved with my family, what would make you think otherwise?
You mean the two times they showed up. Who was murdered when they showed up ?
By the way.....How many police have been murdered since the "Beer Summit" and #BLM Again ?
"A self-professed neo-Nazi who allegedly used his car as a lethal weapon, killing a woman and injuring 35 other people during a chaotic demonstration by white supremacists here in August, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday after being jailed for the past four months on a lesser homicide charge."
How quickly some forget.
(1) Murder by (1) Neo Nazi ?
And that is a Trump White Supremacist epidemic ?
isn't 1 enough?
(1) one does not make a "Conspiracy".
Trump's critics don't understand that he has been manipulating them.
I've been knowing that since he started running for President against Hillary. The "Free Press" coverage he got was unbelievable, and they couldn't figure out why he WON.
So have I. By using Twitter, especially, he removed media control of their biased narrative, and he was then able to speak directly to the American public and the world.
He has the media running around like chickens with their heads cut off, trying to find something of "REAL" relevance. They're still "Missing" !
That is because he relates exclusively to the state media rather than the people, his tweets are after the fact state media talking points and all updates and matters are discussed with the talking heads of the single source media enterprise.
Because they are exactly what he says they are, and they prove his words everyday. Retraction, retraction, retraction.
The "People" already knew !
It's not "New" !
Twitter in Chief. How pathetic.
at hillarys request.
hillary wanted trump front page and center because she thought he would be easiest to take down... epic fail
For Sure !
Sweeping generalizations and taunting. [ph]
The moderator is not allowing criticism of the sort of people who believe the pathological liar Donald Trump, so there is no way to rationally comment on this seed.
And you SURELY never disappoint in that regard.
I thought criticizing other members was against the rules, although you do it all the time That's all you seem to do here...make indirect personal attacks on other forum members instead of refuting what they have said. That all points of having lost the debate.
Trumps glory yet again is mired in swill as China dumps 500 million into a new trump resort, nope he is arms length (if you have extremely short arms) from business with foreign governments.
Trump makes all his business deals at hands length...
while everyone is caught up in the bs and palace intrigue... russia, stormy, russia... LOL
trump ends fed taxpayer-funded abortions.
“President Trump’s action last week, barring Title X family planning funds from programs and facilities that perform abortions,

just another promise kept.
Glad you like forcing undo burden on the people of the USA by not supporting abortion so our tax dollars can now be spent raising the unwanted child either through foster care or through welfare programs because i know you are not ponying up a place in your house for all the unwanted children you are forcing into this world. All talk no action...despicable.
You seem to have forgotten that once actually a baby the concern ends. The new republican mantra "You are on your own, unless you are a farmer or other entitled group of conservatives"
I swear they are oblivious to cause and effect. Cause: preventing abortions, Effect: Welfare programs are growing out of control and driving this country into debt we will never recover from.
Simple. Government should not engage in communist redistribution of wealth welfare programs
I oppose all subsidies to anyone including individuals, farmers, and corporations
So you support the rights of women to have abortions?
on that we can agree, now if we can convince the businesses of the world to pay their employees a sum that would allow them to live without the gov subsidies then we would be on the right track to fix that.
There will however be people that are unable to work in society and it is the responsibility of that society to help and support them, religious entities and charities are not doing a sufficient job and never have, so the Gov must step in and offer additional help. Now if businesses step up and takes the weight off the system perhaps charities and religious entities would be suffice and the Gov can get out of the subsidy business all together. But that ma be a pipe dream as it would require people to care more about others then themselves or how big they can get their quarterly profit to be.
What is the Government's job then, if not to protect its people?
When Donald Trump informed Kim Jong Un that his nuclear button "is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!"
I believe size is relevant to the eyes of the beholder. Penal diplomacy sure that will work, but as of today it's moot, Mr. Trump bailed on the summit.

Sadly I must agree, the myth of Trump was created and is perpetuated by the media and talking heads. If nothing else he must be given credit for pulling off one of the greatest scams in history.
